Curious about this one. The clerks draft the initial opinions, but is it after the judge has reviewed briefs etc and come to some sort of general direction with the outcome that they want to go in? Or are law clerks really behind the vast majority of decisions (being the first ones to recommend an opinion, based on the research they've conducted)?

2025.01.29 02:50 SmellCrafty4849 [Spoiler] I read Dragon's egg by Robert L. Forward
Dragon’s Egg is unique. I will admit I was sometimes confused by the hard sci-fi parts because my brain is a bit slow. Also, I found the amoeba creatures’ sexual life a bit too descriptive. Other than that, this book has exactly what I always wanted to find in a sci-fi book:
- Alien life in an unexpected place
- Alien life completely different from ours
- Humans going to the aliens
- Humans being the most advanced ones
- Humans helping the aliens advance their technology
- Aliens and humans working together to uncover the secrets of the universe
We had so many main characters throughout the evolution of the Cheela civilization, and the author made me care about every single one of them. It was very interesting seeing their society evolve as well. Although I didn’t like that the girl who wanted to live forever was kind of portrayed as a crazy, self-absorbed leader. I am tired of people relating chasing immortality to being mentally deranged.
It is difficult to tell a story from an alien POV, but this author did it perfectly.
It was beautiful how the first contact between the Cheela and the humans happened. The efforts the Cheela made to make it possible. All the lives sacrificed. Despite being so different, the Cheela and the humans became real friends.
Another great book where humans help the aliens is Cold Eyes by Peter Cawdron.

It’s almost the end of fantasy regular season and I still don’t know if he’s any good. This was supposed to be his breakout year and he’s missed 95% of the games and now the Raptors are actually winning games without him. What if they decide to relegate him to being a 6th man or if they decide to trade him so they can get a 2nd star next to Scottie? It’s not like he’s shown anything to cement himself as the starting point guard of the Raptors. And even if he does come back soon, why would they even let him play considering he’s made of glass and they’re tanking?

I genuinely need this to stop. I recently started kingdom hearts the franchise, and I’m enjoying it a lot. It’s amazing. It’s really fun and all that and I’ve always wanted to get into it ever since 2019. Only thing is I’m not even done with the first game yet and yet I know all about Roxas, Ventus, Vanitas, and how they’re all connected to Sora I also know of Roxas and Ventus coming back in KH3 but that’s really all I know besides a decent amount of stuff about Roxas’s lore involving Axel and Xion and I’m fearing I’m gonna go down the same path when I start my first Final Fantasy soon along with a series I’m currently consuming right now with that being Re: Zero

I typically make around $70-80 in 3 hours averaging 8-10 orders which I think is pretty decent considering I drive a newer Honda civic that gets excellent gas mileage, however I get at least 30 orders like the one pictured, for most people that $6 won’t even cover gas to get there and then back to your zone. My question to everyone is are there actually people who will take orders like this ? Having just come back to D4 to play S7 and doing the campaign, I noticed that for the Rogue anyway, his lines are very friendly and quite soft for the world we inhabit in D4.
I noticed a trend with the dialogue that he is always asking are you OK? how do you feel about X? Can I help you?
Its just me being old and grumpy I am sure. But in a grimdark world like D4, I expected the Rogue character especially to be gruff/rude/aloof/careless of those around him. Only helping to further his own goals and get what he needs.
It borders on therapy level speak sometimes the way he talks to NPCs.
I am sure I am expecting too much from an ARPG, maybe the 600 hours I have in BG3 playing a chararcter I can mold to reflect my miserable grumpy self have influenced me too much.
