 | COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ) The University of Missouri sent out an update on Monday about some federal executive actions and how it will affect research activities at the university. Spokesman Christopher Ave said in an email to ABC 17 News on Tuesday that researchers at the university are continuing to conduct crucial research. "Federal grant submission portals remain open," Ave said in an email. "And our Office of Sponsored Programs Administration continues to submit grant and other sponsored project proposals to federal agencies." The university say it recognizes the health department communications pauses are temporary and may be expanded to other federal agencies. “The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and affiliated agencies, including the National Institutes of Health (NIH), have paused all HHS committees governed by the Federal Advisory Committee Act (FACA). This pause does affect meetings of NIH Study Section and Council meetings as well as travel until at least February 1. The Department of Energy (DOE) has paused funding actions, including awarding grants, loans, funding opportunities and cost-sharing agreements,” the email says. Researchers who rely on federal funding should continue operations as normal until they are given a stop order, the email says. “We recognize that these interruptions may create challenges, particularly for researchers who rely on federal funding. Unless you receive an official stop order, please continue your operations as normal,” the email says. The university also says its grant submission portals are still active and sponsored programs administration office is still submitting grants and payment invoices to federal agencies. This comes after President Donald Trump directed federal health agencies last week to pause external communications, which includes scientific reports, updates to website and health advisories. Just got into crypto no joke like 4 days ago. Made a few buck playing around and learning what’s what and figuring out fees and also some costly mistakes trying to play the quick ups and downs during pumps. Glad I got that out of my system. I had no idea what any of the different coins and currencies are. Still learning and have been on a bender trying to research as much as I can. I gotta say I thought all the Toshi hype was the norm and that’s just what you saw on all the coins. I’m not a rich guy and I’m very skeptical about most everything that sounds good. The servers are absolute trash right now, I’ve played 4 world tours and at some point there is always a 10 minute segment of lag that just makes it unplayable, I might even take a break from the game because of it, I’ve already finished the battlepass a couple weeks ago so I wouldn’t be missing out but it’s a shame as I just started to play world tour and ranked and I was about half way on each, plat and gold respectively but what can you do? I’m not gonna play ranked just to lose all my points when I get lag and can’t even run away let alone fight.

Quick back story - my dad finally incorporated his construction business, and paid me for accounting consulting. I made $1200. This is the first time I officially help him and receive a 1099-NEC (prior years were under $600).
Now, I started doing my 2024 taxes and it asks me to do a schedule c, I have seen it before nothing new. But being that I used my truck to travel for consulting, it asked me to put the info in. I bought the truck new in 2021 for $42,000 and never used it in my taxes. Is it fine that I do that now? Depreciation line 13 is $5,860 and my catruck expenses line 9 are $4,404. This is due to $2760 insurance, $650 loan interest, 250 commuting miles, $474 repairs/maintenance, $520 registration. Does this sound legit? or am I not doing something correct? I am showing a loss of $11k. See below for screenshot.

I was always a fan of the Vermis games on the NES/SNES when I was a kid so when I was a teen and a Vermis MMO came out I instantly played it, it was really fun kinda like if classic runescape had a different color pallete and more combat features (like white hives and slumber) I really had fun with my friends. But when I tried to find it after remembering it a couple of years later but it seems to be wiped from the internet evem all of the old forums even the older non online games are gone too, if anyone could tell me if they remember the Vermis MMO or the other games I would appreciate it.

Today like the most nuttiest nutcase I’ve ever seen in my life came in. His issue wasn’t with us and it was actually with this poor mum who was just standing up for herself. So what happened initially was he accidentally jammed a 3 year olds fingers in the door to the playground and the mum came up to him afterwards and just calmly let him know that he’d done that and to watch out next time but he didn’t like this so he got up and threatened to punch her head in and that she should’ve been watching her kid etc. so obviously she shot back at him telling him that he needs to get a grip she eventually leaves and goes and tells us and the restaurant manager goes out and tells them they need to leave and throughout this the mum decided to call the police and she was about to walk in to the playground when the guy pushed her and slammed the door closed with my RM just caught in the crossfire trying to defuse the situation she eventually gets this guy and his family to leave but as he’s walking out he grabs this mums food off her table and throws it at her 3 year old who was then covered in food and drink and the kid started crying which set the mum off she started yelling like crazy and she went outside following him and yelling at him and during this my RM picks the kid up and wipes his face off and calms him down but yeah I’ve never seen someone nut out over literally nothing like this before.
