2025.01.30 08:38 TheRangerOfTheNorth My PhD advisor isn’t willing to publish and I’m out of time
I’m in the last eight months of my PhD. I have a manuscript ready that’s been ready for like two years now. My advisor keeps delaying submitting it because they want a cell assay as the final figure and every attempt I’ve made over the last two years has only uncovered more issues with the approach.
I keep pushing to just submit the manuscript as is as a technology paper, my collaborators say the same thing. My cosupervisor says I’ve had enough to publish for a year now. But every time I bring it up to my supervisor they keeps saying no one will take the paper without a cell assay.
I know my supervisor is wrong. But they refuse to talk to collaborators or to my cosup (I am used as a PA and a go between) and they do not believe me. They’re now insisting that we can keep trying for another few months. Nothings worked in two years! How am I supposed to pull something out of my ass in two months.
We do have a cell assay working, it’s just not perfect and so they don’t want to accept it.
This is driving me bonkers. I’d almost prefer if they just went “yep this isn’t publishable” and left me to my misery/at least acknowledged my terrible luck in reference letters.
I’m doing an accelerated PhD so it’s not unusual to finish without a publication but I feel like a failure. I wasn’t allowed to collaborate or have side projects so this stalling is just wrecking me.

My girlies, I keep seeing these posts on social media about how people’s partners pamper them and it’s great for them but I have friends around me who feel major fomo, specially when they see women on SM flexing how they like flowers, handwritten letters/notes, home cooked food, massages etc and their partners do all those things but that’s not the reality. My ex was a total green flag (used to give me flowers almost every week, handwritten letters/notes, occasional paintings, home cooked meals etc) I lived an Instagram fantasy for 2 years but I fell out of love with him. Don’t get me wrong, he is an amazing guy. Currently I’m with someone who does these things occasionally and I’m head over heels for him from a year.
Love isn’t about a checklist of flowers, handwritten notes, or home-cooked meals; it’s about how someone makes you feel in everyday moments.
I’ve experienced a relationship that looked like a dream on the outside, filled with all those picture-perfect gestures, yet I still fell out of love. Now, I’m with someone who expresses love in his own way, and my feelings for him are deeper and more real than ever. Love isn’t measured by frequency of romantic gestures but by the depth of your bond and the way your partner shows up for you in meaningful ways.
So, if social media ever makes you feel like you’re missing out, remember: the best kind of love is the one that feels right for you, not the one that looks the best online.

So i purchased it a few weeks ago and I've been satisfied with everything but after I stopped using it regularly i found it goes 10 or dead when i left idle. So i tried it again charging 100% and left it idle for 2 days, and battery is on 50 without any connections. I checked the ANC isn't on so i don't understand what's the issue. I've faced similar issues with realme buds Q but i thought it was a tws problem. But this is a neckband so don't understand why it's doing this?

- A few days ago my mom got a big surgery. The night before I felt so scared and anxious about the surgery. So I was calling my bf and telling him the potential risks and how scared and worried I felt, I just hear him laughing. And I was like what the fuck, and he just said he wasn’t laughing at me, he just saw something. But I think that’s really disrespectful even tho he apologized. today I talked to him again about this and to help him understand I switched perspectives, but he said he wouldn’t get mad or feel disrespected if I did that. And said he thinks differently than I do that we’re not the same.
- He came to visit me almost a month ago, and my period is a few days late so I’ve been feeling really anxious and stressed even tho we used protection, etc (pregnancy scare). I told him how nervous I felt but he barely checked up on me. I mean he would ask but..
- Today I called him cuz we barely talked properly for the past few days. I told him I feel like he doesn’t care bcuz of 1 and 2. He said he has something important tomorrow and said I can’t expect him to always chase after me. Bruh I think I just asked for basic respect and for him to show me that he cares…. I told him many many many times before it’s ok if he has to do stuff, we can still call without having to talk. But overall he just sounds super annoyed and always missing the point. I feel pretty hurt but I feel like his attitude and his tone, the way he talks all shows he doesn’t care even tho he says he’s just busy the past few days..

My little sister got 4 female mice last Friday and like two - three days in I keep hearing loud squeaking coming from the enclosure and when I look one of them miette is always chasing her sister Penelope. I cannot tell if they are fighting after meitte catches up and I cannot check if Penelope is hurt as I cannot handle them yet as they are Petco mice and just run away terrified when I try so I have not checked their sexes yet either. So I'm also wondering if I should do that and force them to let me do it or leave them alone. But anyway I'm wondering if the fighting is normal establishing hierarchy stuff or if it's actually bad and I should separate them
