2025.01.30 08:43 NightfallSky Younger cat keeps chasing older cat
We have a 3 years old female cat, who's super chill and peaceful. 6 months ago we made the (probably incorrect) decision to get another kitten, so they could keep each other company.
The now around 9 month male cat is very active, but the main problem is that he keeps chasing the other one, who constantly growls, runs away and tries to hide. He is now twice her size, so he has no problem catching her and she seems to be very stressed.
Last night, in yet another chase, they even ended up jumping on my face in the bed, scratching me. We are not sure how to approach this. It seems we're all grumpy and annoyed and we don't know if we should put up with it and hope it gets better, or if it would actually be better for everyone to try and rehome the younger cat. Both cats are neutered.
We both work, so for most of the day the cats are alone, which means we can't give as much attention to the younger one as he probably wants. He's clingy and always wants to be with someone. Also, our house is not large enough to keep the cats separate at night, at least not as a permanent solution.
So we're wondering if this is normal and we just need to have more patience, or if we're just causing unnecessary stress and suffering to them in this situation and we should look for some other solution.

Im in the UK
Last December 11th after a session of shoulder press began feeling a numb ache around my left shoulder blade next to the spine. This pain developed rapidly into what I would call major discomfort, exaggerated further at night. It was localized enough and sever enough for me to feel it may be something pressing on a nerve. GP referred me to orthopedic, that department simply bounced the referral to physio. 3/4 weeks after initial injury I began physio.
In the interim I was prescribed excellent pain relief and began my own process of rehabilitation. By the time I saw the physio I had much less pain, after conversation he supported my training choices and gave me some additional exercises to try.
Three weeks later and six weeks after initial injury: I have carefully built up exercise regime and even included some light weights, all without any pain. Have noticed a significant reduction in strength on my left side. I complete a body weight CrossFit workout which includes a small number of toes to bar, and completed all without any pain at all.
6 hours later I am in extreme pain, unable to sit, stand or walk, only finding any relief curled up in a ball. Ambulance delivered me to hospital where I received a great deal of ineffective pain relief, including diazepam. 30 ish hours after the exercise I am able to walk in great discomfort and return home
Last two days I no longer have back pain, but rather an intense hot burning pain in my left wrist and elbow, accompanied by numbness and tingling in my left hand and fingers. This disappears when lying down but is most notable when sitting or standing still. GP readmitted me to hospital but spinal refused to accept me as an I patient and sent me home again.
After three days this pain is now reducing and becoming less incapacitating.
I feel I have a prolapsed cervical disc, but that this disc is naturally returning to the spine with rest. I have an MRI at some point but I'm not sure it will show anything if the disc is 'slipping' in and out of its position. I feel the NHS are illogical to provide physio for an injury they have not identified.
Can a prolapsed disc behave like this, ie... Slip in and out of position. Does this suggest a region of my c-spine vulnerable to herniation? Can anyone point me to a source of good advice for someone who trains at a relatively high level of fitness/CrossFit. I can't simply not train.
