A few things a new manager needs to improve.
Goal kicks: We don't always have to play out from the back. Where necessary, yes, but during his 1 ½ seasons with us, James Trafford got 3 assists as a goalkeeper. Because he had a keen eye, he often hit the ball upfield quickly, and on 3 occasions, it directly led to a goal. I'd love the stats on how many of his goal kicks lead to a goal where he wasn't credited with an assist. We've wasted so much time playing out from the back and then passing it backwards & sideways too.
Passing back: The backwards and sideways passing. It seems to have been ruled out by Darby but must not continue with the new management. It wastes so much time, particularly when we're not winning. And it applies unnecessary pressure and risk on our players. The number of times that I've seen someone on the wing asking for the ball only to be ignored for a sideways and backwards pass. I used to see it with Declan John on the left wing where Dapo was ahead of him, and 99% of the time, he was ignored. And I've seen it this season with someone like Cogley, where he'll go ignored only to pass it into midfield and then back to the defence.
Defending: Firstly we need to start closing players down properly and putting in tackles. Particularly outside the penalty box where we can cut off an attack rather than allowing teams closer to our penalty area and the ability to shoot. There are plenty of instances in or outside the penalty area or further back where we haven't closed someone down or tackled, and we've conceded. What we do instead is sort of chase the player and try to obstruct. But not tackle. We could cut these attacks off so much earlier and prevent goals. How often do we concede the first goal? Another instance is in the middle of the park, where an opposition player is almost stationary, moving slowly. Where we might stand too far back and allow them to move forward. Closing them down limits their options and might force them to pass backwards. If we close them down close enough we might block a particular pass, short or long or maybe a run. What we do is move forward lazily and they continue their move unimpeded. At best, once they've reached us, we do that chase thing. Except for Charlton, who has a +8 goal difference, our +1 is in keeping with everyone below us. Baxter & Southwood have 6 clean sheets between them, and we concede 1.5 goals per game. Last season, Baxter kept 14 clean sheets, and the season before, Trafford kept 22. What we also do, whilst chasing, is a thing where we put a foot in towards the ball to deflect it away from the player in possession. Difficult to explain in writing, but you'll see it. We've always defended this way under Evatt, but unless we have an incredible keeper, it needs to be changed. We've gotten away with this before because of how good Trafford was or because players like Santos & Johnston were having much better seasons.
Heading: It doesn't happen as frequently, but similarly to the passing backwards and sideways, we have this thing where the ball gets headed about several times. There's input from the opposition but we need to get the ball at our feet quicker. It can be another time waster.
Substitutions: Let's make more meaningful substitutions. Many a game Evatt took someone off who was having a good game. While we know he liked missing his chances, he also did it with Charles on occasion and replaced him with someone far less likely to score. Let's take players off who might be tired or make a substitution that can have an impact on the game. We do have good players on the bench, but sometimes we make the subs for the sake of giving someone minutes, let's not do that with the wrong player, or at all.
Corners: We all know we're rubbish at set pieces, and yet, under Evatt, we played for corners. Anytime we're near the opposition goal or touchline we'll hit it off an opposition player for a corner. I understand if we scored from corners, but as a rule, we don't. Let's find a way of keeping the ball in play and crossing it in instead. When we play for the corner we stop play. Sometimes, it can be for 1-2 minutes, and we kill any momentum and allow the opposition to compose themselves. Were they then know when and where the ball is coming from. If we can instead look for a pass towards the wing we can then cross it in.
When we get an actual corner maybe we could practice some routines that might increase our likelihood of scoring.
Shooting: We've only scored 7 goals outside the box! Was this an instruction from Evatt to not shoot outside the box? This doesn't make sense because we know we have players like Dempsey, Morley & Thomason who can score from outside the box. And on occasion they do. Ideally, with practice on the training ground, we'll hit more long-range shots on target. If we improve both our shot accuracy and corner-taking techniques, we increase our odds of scoring. Last season, we scored 86 goals. Only 9 were outside the box. We've practically ruled out a method of scoring goals. It's like saying we won't take penalties.

Hi all traveling with infant (6 months) this september. We are torn bt doing paris for 5 nights and amsterdam for 2 nights vs all 7 nights in paris in a nice hotel
We wld want to fly out of paris bc our points cover it and the points out of ams are too high. However this means if we go to amsterdam we’d have to train back to Paris, stay one more night at a cheap hotel.
I really want to see as many cities as I can, husband more reluctant to do so much moving around w baby. Im worried we might be bored in paris staying too long, though we plan to do a day trip in giverny
Thoughts? We thought abt adding provence instead but its still a 3 hour train ride and less good public transport when there with a baby

I’m a newish teacher teaching 3rd graders and last year a colleague who was more experienced had Mr Beast on during eating time and being inexperienced I thought that Mr Beast would be okay to put on.
I also make sure that I watch the videos beforehand to make sure there’s nothing inappropriate or any bad language and there never is any.
It’s brainrot to some of course but the kids enjoy it and to be honest I thought that it wouldn’t matter much considering it’s just 15 mins of this during the day. As long as they’re happy right?
Well this year a veteran teacher spoke to me and said that Mr Beast isn’t okay to put on for that age group.
I quickly went to my deputy to seek advice and was told to make sure that anything I put up is G rated otherwise it’s a no go.
She gave me some suggestions for some content they could watch and I took on board that advice.
I can’t help though and worry that a parent might complain that their kids watched Mr beast in my class.
I feel so stupid for making such an error.

I'm taking a more well rounded view of the meta and trying all the top decks. I've been playing Gardi a whole 24 hours and I have questions.
Should I always choose to go second and try for evolution play? Vs Any deck I should choose first?
What is the point of cressailla beyond very mild healing?...scream tail and drifloon seem much more useful.
Every meta list plays similar 60 and identical energy but I seem to struggle getting energy into discard. Is there a best approach that isn't obvious?
When to devolution? When 3+ rare candy used? Wait until a KO is ready for the baby? Right after hand disruption if a pidgeot is an issue? Obviously all three but where is preference?
I hear this deck is difficult to master. Is 3weeks online and in person too little... working under the assumption I am relatively intelligent 🤓
What/where are resources to learn the deck more in-depth. Deck profile/match up guide etc.

I'm 26F, I had a tonsillectomy on November 4, 2024 (because of recurring tonsillitis and tonsil stones). Now I'm almost 3 months post-op and I think my soft palate is basically "collapsed". It hangs so low that my uvula constantly touches my tongue. I went back to my ENT at 2,5 months post-op, he said that there's scarring and indeed a narrowing in space and I could ask for the uvula to be cut if it bothers me, but I should wait 1-2 months and meet with him again. I don't really want to remove or shorten my uvula as it is healthy and it won't solve the narrow space problem. Is there any solution for this problem?
