Since I started working in publishing, I've heard people say many different things about the right dpi, ppi and file weight for printing. To decide if a file is ready, some check wether it's above or below x megabytes, some use 300 dpi as printing standard for anything. What guidelines do you use? This all sounds unprofessional to me.

Anyone been in this situation? I was laid off in October, after taking my job remote and moving to a very rural area. I'm a Senior (non-tech) Engineer with 10-15 YOE and a PhD, whose main industry is concentrated in only a few cities. Most all these employees are returning to on-site requirements.
There are only a handful of employers in my area that even hire engineers, and they are not interested in folks without manufacturing experience. There are no major state offices here that need engineers, and they mostly need civil engineers. Federal roles are all on a hiring freeze and <1 year probationary employees look like they will be fired.
We have enough now to coast, probably enough to leanFI. But this is where we want to live; I just can't seem to find any job I want to do (or employer that will have me).
Has anyone had luck finding a coastFI job in a rural locale?

MAGA rose to prominence during obama's second term. i believe that a liberal equivalent of MAGA while rise to prominence over the course of trump's second term. the left is about to become radicalized.

My father cheated on my mom when I was 16. He was physically and mentally abusive to both my mother and brother. I didnāt have to feel the wrath of it all because I was in a boarding school. My mother would call me and cry over the phone. I was in denial for years because I always wanted a ānormalā and āhappyā family. My mother mentions his infidelity in fights and that sends me into a spiral.
I have been troubled by this a lot lately and do not know what to do about it. I have never spoken about this in 8 years. This is me saying it out loud for the first time. My feelings towards my father are very chaotic. Thereās deep resentment for breaking my mother down and for being physically abusive to her. I feel a sudden rush of anger and disgust at him at times. But, I canāt bring myself to hate him like I think I should for what he did to my mother and brother. I feel like a low life hypocrite. Because, I despise people who cheat. My mind is in a haywire since a couple of months now. What should I do?
