Frankel: Booking Major Lazer to perform the opening ceremony of the cricket finals in Mumbai, India was pretty wild (I went!), Yung Lean being one of the faces of Calvin Klein's global Fall campaign was pretty groundbreaking for him, and helping this Mexican rapper named Tornillo sell out his entire first-ever US run was pretty special.
AvA: One piece of advice for someone just starting their career?
Frankel: Network, network, network! Don't be afraid to reach out to people on linkedin for a chat. Go to industry events and mixers.
AvA: Youāve had a dynamic career path, moving between major labels, talent agencies, and innovative platforms like Cameo. What key factors have guided your decisions when navigating these transitions and shaping your own professional path?
Frankel: To be honest, my entire motivation is I LOVE music, and the artists that create it. I have always wanted to do something where I've felt I'm helping to allow artists to be able to do their craft (aka paid) while also enjoying what I do and feeling impactful. Bonus points in getting to make fans happy. So I'm constantly watching trends and where an artist is really making their living.

2025.01.30 21:42 TentativeGosling Pension "tax-free lump sum" if taking a small amount each year?
Hi all. My father has recently retired and now has to decide what he wants to do with his pension(s). His company switched from a DB to a DC pension a few years ago, so he has a bit of both. He was eligible to collect his DB pension for the last year and collected a tax-free lump sum of Ā£33k, plus is getting around Ā£413 pre-tax a month from it, on top of his state pension. He has around Ā£27k in his DC pension pot, and his plan is to put it in a flexible drawdown pension. He is happy with his income from the state+DB so his plan is to just extract the interest from the drawdown each year to pay for a holiday or similar, leaving the main bulk in the drawdown, potentially until it's needed for funeral costs etc.
We are confused at the moment at the tax status of this. Out belief is that, with his current income, he is still a basic rate tax payer (income is Ā£16458 pa from state and DB pension) and this entitles him to Ā£1000 tax free interest each year. His lump sum from his DB is sitting in a regular savings, but he has Ā£16k earmarked for spending this year. However, it is possible that he might end up breaching the interest threshold on that alone this year (I need to do the maths). So, we suspect that collecting the interest from the drawdown will likely get taxed as well, even after spending the Ā£16k. However, it is complicated by the tax-free lump sum. We aren't entirely sure how this works if he doesn't collect it as a lump at the start, but rather as small amounts on a annual basis. I've tried searching the internet, but it is all pretty confusing and I've ended up down several rabbit holes only to end up at the same mouth of the warren.
I suppose our questions are, is this the most tax-efficient way for him to access his money? Would it be better to take out the traditional "lump sum" of around Ā£6.5kish and pop it in an ISA, leaving the rest in the drawdown (resulting in less interest on the drawdown, but also less tax). I've already advised him to move some of his savings into an ISA for this financial year, which will help.

I bought the S24 ultra, in natural titanium colour just 10 days before the launch of the s25 ultra. I love this Phone (upgraded from an S22 ultra, had the fold 5 before that, but switched because of a display issue). I'm now kinda bummed that I didn't wait for the s25 ultra. I do use the Spen a lot for work. Quick notes. And screen off memo. I don't use the Spen Bluetooth that much other than the occasional picture taking functionality from afar. I bought this phone for around 930 dollars. The good news is even if I went with the trade in with samsung, I would be Getting a 900 dollars trade in value for this Phone(almost the same price i paid) . But would have to pay the extra 400 for the s25 ultra. What do you guys think I should do? Go for it?

The total number of forces that is to be counted remain within South Vietnam is to be 100,000 troops in total. Yet, the PLAF have been pushed out of South Vietnam's Military Region III, Quįŗ£ng Trį» province is to be fully demilitarised, while Military Region IV remains a patchwork of NLF redoubts and militia forces that causes issues for force calculations for everyone on all sides (That is before we get into the dubious nature of the application of the ceasefire terms for deep NLF redoubts within South Vietnam).
As such, the main (and only) force the PLAF needs to withdraw to comply with the terms of the treaty would be the massive force of 8 infantry divisions, some 4 artillery regiments, and 2 armoured regiments that it held within Quįŗ£ng Trį» Province. US satellite reconnaissance would indeed see a drawdown of forces north of the Thįŗ”ch Hįŗ£i river, although at least 3 of the Steel and Iron divisions would maintain forward defensive positions on the riverline until the deadline at which the Treaty would come into effect, as a possible deterrent against potential ARVN incursions across the river line.

I (20sF) have a crush on a guy (20sM) who works at the gym I go to. When I started going, he did the introductory session and from whatever way he looked at me I thought he liked me. I canāt really put it into words.
I was in a relationship at the time and made sure to mention that I had a boyfriend (I obviously was not interested in my gym crush back then and always made sure to mention my boyfriend if I thought a guy liked me).
Iāve been single for a few months now and Iām pretty sure my gym crush knows this. Iāve been reading advice on how to approach him as its a bit more awkward when he works there as he may not like me anyways but even if he does I donāt want to overstep any boundaries in his workplace.
Even if he doesnāt like me, I think heās a nice guy anyways so I gave him a follow on 1 of his professional social media accounts but he never followed me back (so I reckon thatās my answer).
Iāve tried talking to him a few times and heās always been pleasant (one of the times I was sure he was flirting with me but maybe he was just being friendly given his job?) but it tends to be me initiating the conversations. The last time he said hi and asked me how I was, I got nervous and squeaked out a hi and forgot to ask him how he was so now I think he thinks Iām weird.
When Iām at the gym I get quite bored so I tend to look around a lot so Iām worried he thinks Iām looking at him a lot. I donāt think he looks at me and for the most part even when we do catch each otherās eye I get nervous and look away even though I want to smile or wave.
People tell me Iām pretty but I donāt think I am. Iām also a bit chubby (hence why Iām at the gym). I doubt he actually likes me considering thereās so many gorgeous girls who go there.
He just seems like a really lovely guy and I donāt want to overthink things and I want to make sure to respect his boundaries if he doesnāt like me.

I had an emergency appt on Wednesday for tooth pain. Very back molar, bottom right. It needs to come out so I have an extraction scheduled for tomorrow (Friday) morning. Today Iāve noticed what I assume to be a gum cyst (I think from googling). Do I need to call the dentist now and tell them or am I good to wait until my appt tomorrow morning? Still in pain but Iāve been in pain for over a week now so basically used to it.

I filed with FreeTaxUSA. I lived in Missouri until mid June and in Illinois the rest of the year. I work for the same company that is located in Missouri, so they withhold my taxes for Missouri.
When I filed it asked me what my āMissouri amountā and āIllinois amountā is.
Am I to calculate the income I earned while living in Missouri and while living in Illinois based on the number of weeks I was a resident in each state?
When it asks me my āMissouri amount,ā is that supposed to be 24 weeks worth of my income since I lived there for 24 weeks??
