The G-4 grouping currently consists of Brazil, Japan, India and Germany who are vying for the expansion of the UN security council, and addition of 5 more permanant members - the above 4 countries and Nigeria. But Nigeria is not part of G-4(or G-5 then) yet. I searched on Google and found out this:
The G4 suggested that two African nations, in addition to themselves, be included in the enlarged UNSC. In several conferences during the summer of 2005, African Union was unable to agree on two nominees: Egypt, Nigeria and South Africa all lay claim to a permanent African UNSC seat.Although enlargement of UN is still a long way ahead, still if the countries stand together and fight for it, it would be more probable to achieve the aim. So do you think there are chances of Nigeria becoming part of G-4 any time soon, and expansion of the UNSC?

2025.01.30 14:51 Hour-Cup-7629 DNA match conundrum.
I have a recent DNA matches of 250 cm DNA on Ancestry. Firstly I was really pleased as only have a few matches like this. So Ancestry flagged this as a second cousin, so I had a look and indeed one of the family names is one of my family names. So I assumed this connection was obvious. However now I have looked more closely I cannot find a family connection. My family lived in Scotland forever and the family of my match lived in the South West of England for basically forever. Now Im a bit stumped. To have so much matching DNA you would I guess expect it to be only a few generations back Id have thought. To make it a bit more complicated I cross referenced to a grt uncle of the match. I dont have any DNA matches at all with this bit of the family. So now Im thinking that his Grandfathers father may not be who they think it is and the family surname is just a coincidence. If anyone has any ideas or insight Id be most grateful. Many thanks.

Growing up, I was always told I wasn't allowed to join extracurricular clubs, go on school trips etc. because it was too expensive and my family could not afford it. My parent would scream at me if I asked for anything that required money. I quickly learned not to ask for anything - something I still struggle with today.
At the time, I just assumed that I was stupid for asking because clearly, we were poor if my parent was this enraged at the mere thought of parting with their hard-earned cash. However, after a series of unfortunate events, we ended up in abject poverty, and later I realised that in our prior living situation, it was never about a lack of money but about my parent believing that their children were not worth spending money on.
During my time of poverty, the bills went unpaid and the refrigerator remained mostly empty. In most situations, you would assume that the parent sacrifices everything for their children, but in my case, my parent spent any money they had on buying new clothes, going on drunken nights out, and going to spin class. My parent did not care about the impact their behaviour had on me so long as they could keep up appearances. I was having to go without meals at school as I saved up the little lunch money I had to buy deodorant, menstrual products, and school supplies that my parent refused to buy. Our living situation was dire and my parent abandoned me to live with a well-off partner, leaving me to fend for myself as a teenager. Although, they would sporadically appear sometimes and leave £10 to buy groceries... not nearly enough.
Thankfully, I'm an adult now, and in a much better position, but it still upsets me to think that I was not worth spending money on in their eyes. I was inspired to make this post as I recently fulfilled my childhood dream of joining a sports club but this came with a lot of conflicting feelings. I feel guilty spending money on myself and I'm jealous of the people I meet who grew up doing this sport since I'm not able to achieve the same things as an adult. I tried to find similar experiences on here but most posts are from people's Nparents forcing them into extracurricular activities, not the opposite. DAE have a similar experience?

I'm really new to the sciADV series (like, the only thing I know about it is steins;gate, and that too from the anime) and I'm thinking of playing the VNs. Till now, I've watched the entire S;G anime and nothing else. The main issue I have is that I don't have a pc, or a console. The only way I can play these games is through a psp emulator (or any other emulator that works on mobile, though I've only used ppsspp till now). So with the introduction out of the way, let's get to the questions.
So the first question is, what's the order I should play these games in?
Second question,when I get to S;G (after playing in the recommended order), which should I play, the crunchyroll Steins;Gate mobile game, or should I use an emulator?
And finally for the third question, For the games which I can't play (due to not having a pc and console, or any other reason), Would watching full walthroughs be a good replacement?

Last night I shared an incident here to warn others about a woman pretending to be homeless, and her BF and a couple others who were taking advantage of people's sympathy or niceness and doing home invasions on people who they thought were kind/ nice, the disabled, the elderly, people living alone, and others. I got so mercilessly ripped apart for posting it that I decided I was just done with this subreddit and decided not to bother trying to warn or help anyone here anymore.
But now today I see this on someone's FB....

It is not the same woman or couple that I had mentioned. But this is happening a lot in N Ireland and I guess most people aren't aware of it until it happens to them or their Gran's. So maybe tell everyone's Gran's to lock their doors? Because the M.O. of this couple, the ones I mentioned yesterday and others doing the same thing is to target the elderly, the disabled, people who live alone. People who are nice to them. It's disgusting, but there it is.

2025.01.30 14:51 kylaah27 Waterproof mattress protector for hot sleepers
So it's been about 6 months and I'm not too happy with my mattress as it's way too firm. It sleeps very cool overall and combined with percale sheets, it's been the best combo I've tried for cooling. Unfortunately because of how firm this mattress is I will need to invest in a topper, which just adds more layers and can make sleeping hotter. I'm planning to go for a talalay latex mattress topper.
With that being said, I use a waterproof mattress protector because I have a dog who can have accidents. I'm worried with this added mattress topper, it'll be too hot with the waterproof mattress protector we currently use.
I know cooling and waterproof should be an oxymoron but having a near waterproof protector is super important. Are there any suggestions for ones that typically are more breathable? I'm open to any suggestions. Thank you!

Hi all, I have very limited experience in dealing with wiring outside of tinkering with random bits and bobs. I am in the middle of changing my pendant light fixture but the wiring in my fixture doesn't look like the wiring of tutorials I've watched online.
I'm assuming the red wire is the live wire? And the black wires are neutral? There isn't any green and yellow wire, but there is one in the new fixture.
Very confused. Any advice? Thank you in advance.

For the past 6 or so months, I’ve been using a Pull/Leg, Push routine (Monday: Pull/Leg, Tuesday: Push, etc.)
Pull Exercises:
Monday: 4 sets of pull-ups (max is 13 with strict form)
Wednesday: 4 sets of weighted rows
Friday: 3 ladders of pull ups, usually up to 5 or 6
Push Exercises:
Tuesday: 4 sets of dips
Thursday: 4 sets of pushups
Saturday: 3 sets of pike pushups
Legs (lacking a bit in this area):
Hinge: RDL with 35 lb kettle bell
Squat: Bulgarian split squat with 35 lb kettle bell
This routine has really made a difference in my physique, and my beginner gains were consistently increasing each week, especially for pull ups max. However, I’m now at the point where the gains are taking longer and my pull ups max has stagnated. I’ve also stopped slapping on muscle after putting on 6 lbs over the course of taking up training (I know this is expected though). My main concern with this split is that it isn’t enough total volume to continue building muscle and this plateau will be permanent unless I do more (like 2 exercises on pull/push days). I’d like to avoid this if possible though because of time commitment. Let me know what you all think!

I made sure to quit after upgrading all my landmarks so i will start fresh again in a few months with all my shields i feel good about this decision the game which i have devoted the past year and a half too has become a chore now rather than fun. I used to like the gap between events gave me time to breath but now with one event like the last partner event ending and peg-e starting straight away its just boring now.
