One of my good buddy’s has been working the fires in California and we got onto the topic of those erroneous countywide evacuation alerts that were going off multiple times and having to be rescinded making a “cry wolf” situation. Of course the company behind this is newer, I actually sat through a demo with them last year and although they were cheaper than what I went with I’m so glad I decided against the lure of their good quote. My buddy said that the vendor kept trying to deflect and blame this on user error which happened 3 times over the course of a few days, different users. Now the county is doing an internal investigation into the system and practices, basically all confidence is lost in the vendor. Today I see the company touting how they saved lives in the LA fires, marketing the hell out of the event. I almost wanted to post the articles under it. What a shame and to take absolutely no responsibility blaming seasoned professionals under duress and using the tragedy as a marketing ploy. Not classy genasys

I know Mr. Pankow deck is divided by the AAMC categories (6A, 6B, etc), but this deck is for for Psych/Soc only :/
Having ANKI decks divided this way is so helpful with closing my content gaps but it takes so much time to try to separate them on my own. Anyone have any decks that are already divided up this way for the sciences? For reference, I'm over halfway through MileDown but looking for a deck that's a bit more comprehensive in the contents I would like to fill.

New folder does not appear as an option in the right click context menu (but I DO have the option to create a new zip file archive here).
The new folder button in File Explorer does nothing.
No response generated by Control+shift+N.
I've checked my registry editor, and the key under the contextmenuHandler is correct.
Windows has all its updates and I've run the sfc/scannow command, and I still have no ability to create a new folder.
What do?

I recently came across an archived thread created by a new advisor who took over his father's practice. He shared that he inherited a $90 million book of business that generated $500,000 in revenue. He realized that if he wanted to grow the business beyond its current state, he needed to make some changes. The systems in place were outdated and hindered his ability to provide quality service. Additionally, he was interested in expanding by acquiring other books of business like the one he inherited. Lastly, he was curious about the value of his book—specifically, what someone might offer him to transition his $90 million book of business to their platform.
The comments he received were quite varied. Having worked as a recruiter in this space for 17 years, I continue to be surprised by how little some advisors know about making a transition like this. In the thread, I noticed advisors who were unaware that they could receive a 70% NET payout by going independent while also benefiting from a large upfront signing bonus. There was even one advisor who moved his $4.5 million book from one wirehouse to another, justifying his choice not to go independent by expressing concerns that he would have to dedicate himself entirely to the business at the expense of his family. This belief is fundamentally incorrect.
While I’d love to connect with other advisors reading through Reddit who are considering a change and help them find an ideal new partner, that’s not the primary reason I’m writing this. I was surprised to find that thread and would never have thought to engage with advisors this way. We don't need to know each other. I have the time to participate on Reddit; I have 17 recruiters and five managers who handle all the work over the phone. In 2024, we placed 125 advisors, totaling $80 million in GDC and roughly $10 billion in AUM.
I advocate for independence and have a strong dislike for wires.
