I’m aware that there are a plethora of plants that have been used in various places across the globe, throughout history for their stimulating effects, such as coca, khat, tobacco, betel nut etc, but what was available to the average European during that time? If there is any wealth divide in substance usage, or was it uncommon due to heavy religious presence? Also any suggestions for further online reading about this are welcome! Thank you for your time!

I’m a teacher in training, and I’ve been told over and over that I can’t be a teacher because of my demeanor. I’m a reserved person who doesn’t speak up unless I have to. Everyone tells me I need to be more enthusiastic and energetic. I need more specific advice than what I’ve been getting. I’d like to know how to do the things they want me to do, rather than just saying “do it” and expecting me to.
I’ve spoken to one of my profs who is introverted and he gave me some tips to be more talkative, such as go around and ask for names to fill out an attendance, and comment on student accessories.
I need advice from fellow introverts like me on how to be more extroverted with students. (I’m training for high school level in the public sector of Ontario)

This may apply to almost lot more stores, but definitely J.Crew/Banana Republic/Gap Factory Outlet. Don’t buy anything from the physical store without checking the price for the same item online. You most likely will save money buying online for in store pickup and could very well save A LOT of money.
Just today, I saw a sweater in store that I liked. It was priced on store at $100 but 30% off. So price to me would be $70. That was way more than it’s worth to me so I decided to check the website. The same sweater was priced at $90 online and was “50% off” so the price to me was $45 instead. Definitely worth that to me for this sweater.
So just by pulling out my phone and doing a quick search I saved $25.
And that’s not my first time. I will often shop in store so I can physically browse and then actually purchase in the website for in store pickup. I’ll then carry my items to the front and say “hi, I have a pickup order for all this stuff right here. Here’s the order number.”
If you feel weird about that at all, the people in store seem like they are happier with this arrangement because they don’t have to pull the merchandise like a more typical online/in store pickup order.

I’m a freshman at a d1 school. I was not good academically before college but i got recruited with a partial scholarship to play my sport, at a school i never thought i would be able to get into.
Since sophomore year of high school i have hated my sport but i used university as the motivation to keep going, and when i got recruited i gave my sport a chance as maybe i would enjoy it, but i still don’t so i want to quit.
I understand i will not receive my scholarship anymore but is it a definite yes that I will be able to stay enrolled at the same university? Meaning i won’t get kicked out for quitting since i was recruited for the sport?
I am scared to ask anyone here because if it turns out i need to keep playing i dont want the rumor to spread around
