I, 28 f, have a husky, 12 f, who is diabetic and very expensive and time consuming.
I’ve had her all of my life. I didn’t take the best care of her when I was in college, so she became overweight. I snapped to and got advice from the vet to help her lose weight by switching to the right food and taking her on 3 15 minute walks a day. Apparently the sudden weight loss can cause diabetes.
She’s had diabetes going on a year now. Between her weight management dog food, insulin, syringes, glucose tests, vet visits, groomers visits, daily supplements, and dog walker cost for when I work during the day.. she’s around $500 a month
She also has been increasingly difficult to keep on a normal eating schedule. About once or twice a week she doesn’t want to eat her food, which causes me extra stress because it means she won’t get her insulin and it will affect her blood sugar, which also can cause UTIs in diabetic dogs. Something we’ve gone through before and was also expensive and time consuming.
Her time consuming and expensive schedule, paired with her age and “bad days”, cause me a lot of stress. I also live 5 hours away from Ang family, and taking her home for thanksgiving put a lot of stress on her and her routine, it took her about 3 days to adjust to being home. So, traveling is also really hard to do.
I’ve talked to my boyfriend about having her put down. He loves her and believes it’s the wrong call. He says I made a commitment to her, even though I was 16 when I did, and I need to see it through. He has called me childish and selfish for talking about the idea. He believes that I won’t make a good mother to future children if I want to throw in the towel when it gets tough, which, I believe is not a fair exaggeration.
I think it’s a mix of my quality of life and my dogs that are frustrating, but I don’t feel like I’m being seen as someone who is struggling with quality of life. AITA?

 | Looking for some advice on tank stand/support. Currently have my desk setup with acacia butcher block on top of an ikea Alex cabinet on one side and then the metal ikea legs on the other. I currently have my 11 gallon sitting on top of the butcher block (leveling mat under tank) over the side with the ikea Alex cabinet (I have a layer of leveling mat between the butcher block and cabinet as well. My question/dilemma is I want to upgrade from my 11g to a 16g (60P) and put it in the same spot, but I’m just not sure I should, unless I change out how I support my desk on this side. I know people say no to ikea not only because of weight, but more importantly the moisture issues, yet my tank doesn’t touch it as I have the desktop in between. In my case I’m worried about the added weight of a larger tank. I seem to be limited in buying options since it needs to be desk height to go under and support my desktop, and it needs to be a cabinet style for my equipment. Hello all I was excited to start my new job as I have been offered to make a salary as a safety and security specialist for 65k in New York. Now this slash is slightly below market value but they have pretty good benefits, 30 days PTO with 6 holidays, and offer some sort of google certification tuition discounts. Now I emailed and asked wary if they could reach my salary expectations and they said they had a strict budget which I under stood, but then asked if there was any additional incentives such as sign on bonus or maybe even reviewing my performance at the end of 6months. Two days later I gave it some thought and decided to sign the offer, but later the same day received an email stating I may not be a good fit as my needs are above what they are able to do.. I’m not sure my actions warranted this as I was professional with my email and was just asking questions. Are the chances that I may receive the offer again unlikely? Or did I dodge a bullet

We’ve been seeing each other for months now, and she just asked me to be official. I have been nervous to explain to her that I changed my name for a while now because of the personal childhood circumstances linked to it and how close I hold my new name to the person I am. I don’t want her to see me as anything but who I am. I don’t want her to feel as though I’ve been untruthful to her (my ex blew up when I told her), I don’t want her to feel weirded out that I hadn’t told her earlier, and I want to feel authentic to her. She always sends me funny little coincidences that make me smile from ear to ear like our names being coupled in a sentence from a book she’s reading, etc. I need to tell her as soon as possible because she’s going to meet my mom and step dad this weekend and they still use my birth name, unlike my brother who has actually been very supportive. I’m just super nervous and don’t know how to go about it.. I don’t want her to feel like I’ve held back from telling her because I don’t trust her. I feel like my genuine self around this person which is rare and I think we’re falling in love which makes this all the more scary haha. How do I even go about this? We already know so much about each other and I’m worried me bringing up what feels like such an important piece of info way later than I should’ve despite all of the chances that opened up will set us back. Maybe I’m overthinking? Do I bring up the fact that trauma led me to changing my name or is that too much? How do I keep it as light as possible especially when she inevitably asks why I decided to change it without making her feel like I didn’t deem it important enough to tell her earlier? because it’s been on my mind all this time I’ve just been way too scared about how she may act.

I plan on doing this: buy a rtx 3080 in the upcoming few months, the 10gb version to be exact because the 12gb costs like a whole 200 dollars more. And i was wondering if thats enough for 1440p? ive seen alot of talk abt vram lately , and my 6gb card seems to be holding up "fine" right now for my current situation, so im wondering if its enough, if not i might just get a 6700 xt with 12gb of ram or wait until march for the 9000 series launch

As the title states. I'm pretty weird, at least compared to most of the people I live around. I'm an anime loving furry. No, I don't want to fuck animals, I mostly like the drawings and doing it while wearing one of the fursuit is a turn off as well. I'm not trying to fuck an animal, and frankly, idk how people can do it in fursuits and not die from a heat stroke.
Anyway, if you seen my obsession with Cats the musical that started when I was 2 it makes perfect sense that I ended up as a furry lol. I do a significant amount of gaming and mostly watch cartoons. I like to write and draw and smoke tree. My personal style is horrokawaii. I love comedy and I'm a huge potty mouth and I border on being a communist.
I'm just making this post for shits and giggles. I don't really expect much as far as responses, but I have just enough curiosity to do it.
