Siembra Alteño

2025.01.31 02:02 cybric56 Siembra Alteño

I saw a review here awhile ago and thought I would get a bottle. Wow I can't leave this alone. It has become my favorite blanco and I need to order the reposado. It is up there with G4 Madera and Ensueno. Must be the fermentation in the pine vats. It has the rough edge I like that. The minerality with a bit of pepper and agave makes it so good. This is definitely one blanco that I will always have in the cabinet. Tapatio is one of my favorites but this is really so different in my mind. Nom 1139 hit it out of the park.

2025.01.31 02:02 Littlecupoft A. Minatrix sling - long pre-molt?

Looking for some advice on what seems to be like a long pre-molt. My a. minatrix created a tunnel web about 4 weeks ago and stayed in there since. Fat booty, refusing food but at least moves around a bit in the web.
I do offer water and sometimes get some water droplets on the web for them to have.
Haven’t had any of my avic slings take this long before so would love some input.
Thank you in advance for being kind! I love this community.

2025.01.31 02:02 hobbitstoisengard26 Any recommendations for an affordable personal trainer that has their pricing information and other standard terms actually written out on their website?

I want to get back into weight lifting after taking a break and dealing with an injury. It's important to me to learn proper form, and I'm looking for personal trainers but cannot seem to find a decent one.
Does anyone have recommendations for a personal trainer who:

  1. Does either private or semi-private training sessions
  2. Is affordable (ideally less than $300 per month for 2 workouts a week)
  3. Does not have some multi-month commitment or other contractual traps
  4. Has their pricing terms and conditions clearly listed out on their website?
In a city that is supposedly all about fitness trainers none of them have all of the above. I can't be spending $150 twice a week and I don't want it to turn into a long-term thing. I just want a few training sessions so I can learn proper form and then be on my way.
It seems like these personal trainers just want you to sign up for a call and I'm in no mood to be "sold" I just want to see the information laid out so I can make the best choice.

2025.01.31 02:02 ArtbyPolis Anvil buying question

I have a cheap cast iron 55lb anvil rn and it sucks, it puts indentations and stuff in my metal so I'm looking to upgrade to a 100-150 lbs anvil depending on what I can find. Does anyone have good recommendations for reasonable priced anvils?

2025.01.31 02:02 LeVoPhEdInFuSiOn Non-fiction books that help you decide whether you're ready for a relationship?

Hey everyone,
It's been a long time since I've gotten past the third date and I may be about to go mutually exclusive. I also came out as gay in 2021 so this will be my first gay relationship but the book doesn't have to be targeted to gay relationships.
I'm looking for a non-fiction book that will explain how both short term and long term relationships and to help me decide whether I'm emotionally ready to consider a relationship? If it also contains the pros and cons of being in a relationship, that would be great. Thank you for your help.

2025.01.31 02:02 False_Tap_8138 Volunteer Saturdays

I'm not having any luck finding food related volunteer opportunities I can do on Saturdays. I was hoping to sort food donations or prepare food. Preferably something behind the scenes because I'm not very social. I checked the NE Georgia food bank and they don't have any volunteer shifts on Saturdays. Daily bread community kitchen also doesn't have Saturday shifts. I'm only interested in food related volunteer opportunities, so if you know of any that I can do on Saturdays, please let me know. Thanks!

2025.01.31 02:02 representyourself Oprah was in on the WMD scare that led to the Iraq war

Didn't get to E6 yet but seems like RE missed it. Oprah made this theatrical show of not backing GWBush's premise at the start of an episode with an intelligence expert then was "convinced" that we had to invade Iraq. It was a thin performance aimed plainly at public opinion. Incredibly obvious behavior I grew up latchkey in the late eighties - Oprah was ridiculous but not a bastard. It was clear she had kissed the ring and carried water for the worst people.
Hundreds of thousands died or had their lives ruined. It's the bastard-at-scale moment they keep not being able to find. But I'm looking forward to E6.

2025.01.31 02:02 Is_ItOn Comparison of Trump EOs to those of Hitler and logical conclusion (see full chat)

Yes, several of Trump’s recent executive orders bear similarities to early executive actions taken by Adolf Hitler when consolidating power in Nazi Germany, particularly in the way they centralize authority, suppress dissent, and redefine social and legal norms to fit an ideological agenda. Below is a comparative analysis:

  1. Centralization of Power and Erosion of Democratic Norms
Hitler’s Actions • Reichstag Fire Decree (1933): • Suspended civil liberties, including freedom of speech, the press, and assembly. • Allowed indefinite detention without trial, targeting political opponents. • Justified as a necessary measure to combat “terrorism” and “subversives.”
Trump’s Actions • Executive Order on Immigration Detention at Guantánamo Bay (2025) • Orders the detention of up to 30,000 undocumented immigrants at Guantánamo, raising concerns about due process and indefinite detention. • Parallels: Like the Reichstag Fire Decree, it uses national security as justification for mass detention without clear legal recourse. • Federal Grant Freeze and Potential Political Retaliation • Trump paused federal funding for numerous agencies and programs, with indications that this could be used to target opposition groups. • Parallels: Hitler used economic leverage to pressure institutions into compliance and cut off resources from opposition groups.
  1. Suppression of Political Opposition and Civil Liberties
Hitler’s Actions • Gleichschaltung (Coordination) Policies • Systematically replaced bureaucratic and judicial positions with Nazi loyalists. • Used government authority to eliminate political opponents and non-compliant institutions.
Trump’s Actions • Elimination of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Programs • Executive order ending DEI programs in federal contracts and hiring, effectively removing protections against discrimination. • Parallels: Nazi Germany purged institutions of Jews, leftists, and non-loyalists under Gleichschaltung. The DEI rollback does not go that far but aligns with ideological restructuring. • Prioritizing Military Excellence and Readiness Order • Bans individuals who do not conform to a strict binary gender definition from serving in the military. • Parallels: Hitler’s military reforms removed Jews, socialists, and those deemed politically unreliable from service.
  1. Restructuring Citizenship and National Identity
Hitler’s Actions • Nuremberg Laws (1935) • Stripped Jews of German citizenship. • Redefined nationality based on racial and ideological purity.
Trump’s Actions • Executive Order on Birthright Citizenship (2025) • Ends automatic citizenship for children of undocumented immigrants, challenging the 14th Amendment. • Parallels: Like the Nuremberg Laws, this order seeks to redefine who qualifies as a citizen, targeting specific demographics.
  1. Attacks on the Free Press and Opposition
Hitler’s Actions • Press Censorship Laws • Nazi government took control of the media, criminalizing dissenting viewpoints.
Trump’s Actions • Verbal Attacks on the Press & Use of Federal Agencies Against Critics • While no official executive order suppressing the press has been signed, Trump has repeatedly called for legal action against critical media outlets. • Parallels: Early Nazi policies sought to silence opposition through legal and economic pressure before full censorship was enacted.
  1. Environmental and International Isolationism
Hitler’s Actions • Withdrawal from International Agreements • Germany withdrew from the League of Nations in 1933, citing national sovereignty concerns.
Trump’s Actions • Withdrawal from the Paris Climate Agreement (2025) • Similar justification of national sovereignty and economic independence. • Parallels: Isolationist moves based on nationalist rhetoric resemble Hitler’s approach to rejecting global institutions.
Conclusion
While Trump’s executive orders do not establish a totalitarian regime outright, their trajectory aligns with early-stage authoritarian strategies seen in Nazi Germany. The focus on centralizing power, redefining citizenship, curbing civil liberties, and targeting opposition groups echoes tactics Hitler used in the early 1930s before full-scale dictatorship took hold.
If these policies continue to expand unchecked, they could lay the groundwork for a government that operates with minimal oversight and increasing suppression of dissent—historically, a precursor to authoritarian rule.
