The story is that I had an argument with my wife regarding her grounding mat.
My wife said it works because her foam mat is connected to an outlet ground with a wire.
I don't think it works because, when measured with a multi-meter, there is no conductivity between the foam mat and the outlet ground.
Then my wife surfed the web and showed me something quite interesting.
When using the 200v AC function, the multi-meter shows 1.5v - 1.7v AC between the ground and my finger. When I touch her grounding mat with my hand holding the probe, the 1.7v AC drops to 0v AC.
I even took a video of it. (see video)
Can anyone explain to me how this can happen? Google said the 1.5v is from the multi-meter battery?? Can something explain it to me how?

One of the things I loved about ONRAC was the way Ross & Carrie could articulate their skepticism so clearly and suss out logical fallacies/inconsistencies/etc. when discussing their investigations.
Personally, I feel like I have a decent radar for BS when it comes to pseudoscience and woo, but I can't always explain why my radar is going off. Usually I'll google the topic in question and find someone much smarter than me confirm my suspicions and explain why it's bogus, but I'd love to have a better vocabulary so I can identify/articulate this stuff on my own.
Are there any books or podcasts you all would recommend that talk about critical thinking and skepticism more broadly? Ideally something with an ONRAC vibe that isn't too academic/lecture-y.

As tittle suggests what is better for not rusting if I do the correct preventative measures(oil spray, car washes, etc) during winter seasons if I have to drive it. I live in Iowa so we used rock salt, salt brine and sand on the roads if it snows somewhat bad. Should I look into dailying a miata in the winter or keep my 07 accord(unfortunately) just because of winters.

My Epic Orchestral Cover WIP of Sonic - His World, track from Sonic 2006, made with FL Studio.
I wasn't happy with the balance with the other version, the choir was more out of sync. I wanted less reverb and I probably fixed some other issues a long the way.
Fun fact, I actually heard Sonic - His World for the first time during new years eve, an instrumental version, and I just knew that I had to try to make an orchestral version of it.
So obviously this is a re-imagination of a track that already exists, I did put in some own ideas.

I just finished the game and wow it blew me from every expectation I had for this game. I started playing it and initially thought I would hate it because there is no direction and I didn't know if there was even an endgame to this game looping around for 22 minutes. After mindlessly exploring around, the story became more interesting and I thought I could save the hearthians from the sun and thought that was the whole point of the game. Nevertheless, when going into the sun station by crash landing on it (before I found out I could warp via ash twins) I realised it was inevitable. I had to take a break from playing it because I was pretty bumped out and wanted to save the hearthians. The ending was one of if not the most amazing experience I have ever had playing a single player game. I started out hating this game thinking it was overhyped to wishing I can go through this game again blind.

Driver side higher after lowering kit Hello everyone, I recently installed a belltech 3/5 drop kit on my 2019 f150. The kit consisted of lowering struts, a rear axle flip kit, & rear shocks. I did the install myself and it went pretty smooth, spent 24hrs making sure I was following instructions, torque specs, & watching over YouTube videos.
It’s been a full week since the install, ride quality feels great & similar to the stock feel. However, I still notice the driver side being around half an inch taller than the passenger side. From what I’ve read online, it could just be uneven tightness on the top mount bolt on the strut assembly, but I’ve got a couple days til I can take it apart again so I’m wondering if anyone has had experience with this? That one particular bolt did give me some struggle but I don’t think it would be that drastic of a difference. Even compared both of the strut assemblys side by side before installing. I gave my passenger side a few heavy push downs to see if the strut could’ve already blown out but I feel the same resistance as the driver side.
My plan is to reseat the strut assembly but I’m open to any advice. This is my first time doing suspension work, but I spent a few weeks getting the right tools and learning everything I need to. Thanks in advance!

So my family is like those old school clans that stays together around Thanksgiving, etc there is around 50 people. A few years back out of the blue my spoiled entitled cousin accused me of being a creep. Me just shocked that came out of her mouth I didn't know what to say, not that it would matter. I never once thought of her that way she's literally a digital copy of my sister, yeah disgust 🤢. I ignored her since but now her brothers and sister keep coming out of the way to alienate me and call me a creep, stalker. I about killed myself over it when it all started got therapy. This christmas at my own house I spent dinner outside (by choice) despite cold, It was peaceful for once idk what to do it eating me alive and if I cut ties it'll kill my grandma and mom. What should I do? believe me this family would hunt me down there's too Many of them and events our at our house.
