Hi there,
Currently earn 30k, which will jump to 36k in June. I am in a profession where I will earn both a chartered accountancy and chartered tax advisor qualification (if all goes to plan), so future earnings have the potential to grow a lot, and I will end up repaying my student loan.
I have around 36k of student loan balance currently, thanks to the insane interest rates from 2020 when I started my uni course.
I currently pay no student loan repayments as I contribute 8% of my salary to my workplace pension, which takes me below the £27,295 repayment threshold.
My question is, what order do the checks happen to determine if I have breached? And how do tax and NIC contributions affect the threshold?
For example, pension contributions seem to be first, since I do not currently repay, but then what happens? Is it you then pay 9% of your excess over £27,295, and then Tax and Nic's last, based on your amount remaining, so salary - pension - 9% of excess?

I've got some emotionally entangled with a guy that has a girlfriend. Yes, their relationship isn't the best but that doesn't mean that I have the right to go for him. And now I've gotten competitive and jealous as well. It's so stupid. I need to move on and find someone else but I can't. And he keeps trying to talk to me and reaching out. We talk more than he talks with her...
I told him that I can't keep talking to him because of his girlfriend and he gave me a really wishy-washy answer saying to break up with her without directly saying that he will and without directly expressing his feelings towards me. And then he just apologized for something, for making me feel something? I'm just so confused...
I can't exactly tell him this today because he has a very important assignment that he's currently working towards.
