My wife and I are both practicing Catholics, however, for a couple years I fell out of faith. Although I was attending mass during that time out of respect for her (but not receiving communion), there were times I would even give “push back” to our religion in a sort of passive aggressive disdain. My wife never faltered in her beliefs while I lost my way.
Well, a while back, I believe God guided me back to our faith. Since then, I’ve fallen back in love with Catholicism as I’ve taken a completely new approach to it all. I have meetings with our Priest to help guide me through things, outside of mass I try to be as active in our parish as possible, be it volunteering or social events etc., and continue to reshape the way I live my life.
While I’m so grateful that God guided me, I can’t explain the gratitude I have for my wife and her patience. She never pushed me or showed displeasure, but she prayed, and I can tell now how much it means to her to see me like this. Thinking about her support honestly brings a tear to my eye.
I know in times how strict we can be with our faith, but please give empathy and open arms to those finding their way, and pray for them.

I am in Shanghai now, moved from Beijing and from what I read here and seen in my home country, I can’t get why Shanghai is so underrated compared to other cities in Asia. The Bund has a beautiful view at night, Nanjing Rd and Yu Garden ok a bit touristy but many things happening there. There are plenty of museums, neighborhoods… I have the feeling it will take me 5 years to visit everything. It is well located if you like water cities and Chinese history. Pollution ? I don’t know I was told I need to buy air purifier but all cars are electric which makes it very quiet and clean. I see all foreigners rushing to HK and Singapore. I think the closed internet, the fact you need Alipay and everything in Chinese can be an issue but seriously I have been to those cities as well sorry but nothing to compare.

I’m about to start working on a research paper for school, focused on computer science. I’ve explored several ideas but haven’t landed on a solid research question or problem yet. I’ve previously done a project involving machine learning, so I’d prefer to explore something different this time, though I’m open to incorporating some ML concepts if relevant.

I started playing again but there are a lot of differences now compared to before so i've been having a difficult time adapting. It feels like I'm a gold player now. My wife and I are looking at moving to a new neighborhood for a few different reasons (growing family mostly). We've found a neighborhood we absolutely love and could see ourselves being there for 15-20 years. We want to buy however we're not in a financial position at the moment to do so. We recently just paid off all our debt and don't have much of a savings. We would like to put 20% down as a down payment and have calculated it would probably take 18 months, give or take.
Even though we're not in a financial position to buy yet, we want to be in this neighborhood, especially while our daughter is young. We feel it's absolutely perfect. We are considering renting for a couple years to save up for the down payment. The thought occurred to us what if we found a rental house now that we would love to buy in the future. Our question for this post is if you were the landlord would you take the following deal?
We would love to rent for two years. During this time it would just be a regular rental agreement, no big changes. At the end of the lease, we would like to purchase the home. Would you take fhis deal with your property if you were renting it out?
In our minds it seems like a win-win for both parties. The landlord is guaranteed rental income for two years and any appreciation of the properth during that time. It's good for us because we wouldn't have to move again and create a little more stability with our kids. Additionally it puts us in this neighborhood faster, which is a huge plus for us. Lastly, the landlord would have the knowledge that the property would be treated better since the people renting, us, would treat this like their own property.
