A few years ago say - 2010 to 2020
Foreigners had easy access to off the plan properties. They tendeded to buy apartments in large multi story apartment blocks with expensive strata and useless building managers.
What are people's thoughts - should we change the rules and allow this?
1.My thoughts are locals tend not to buy in these buildings. Or if they do are the wealthy suburbanites who like the ease of lifestyle.
- It creates rental stock.
- Creation of rental stock keeps rents lowee
- Locals aren't directly competing with foreigners in this domain. As most will only rent in cities in their 20s and buy in the suburbs in their 30s.
Keen to hear opposing or alternate views that are well articulated.

Obvisously thereās not many episodes yet so Iām open to having my mind changed as time goes on. Butā¦ It just feels like a rip off. You have Lloyd/Sakamoto who can ādisguiseā well Sakamoto turning fat to thin is changing appearance and changing appearance can be looked at as disguise.
Then there Asian martial arts lady which speaks for itself, plus the fact sheās drinking just screams drunk Yor, the giggling mid fight due to drinking was like the irrational emotion outburst with the near kiss scene.
There is a psychic and a kid (blonde guy), which I know isnāt a kid psychic, but the characters arenāt mutually exclusive, like one doesnāt contradict the other and they donāt appear together so they could be interchangeable, just a little bit of a fight scene compared to Anyaās imagination scenes.
Guess you could see the blonde guy as the dog, just as useful with intruders and helping Lloyd take down the bad guys without wanting to die from Yorās cooking. Yor also being represented as them not wanting to upset the mother due to a fear of her harming them.
Am I mistaken, or is it just a rip off? After googling they werenāt written more than a year apart and Sakamoto is apparently a John Wick inspired thing, which I donāt believe has special powers, not watched them, but I havenāt heard about powers in it š

This popped up in my Ring video doorbell Neighbors feed of all places.
Back in 1944, Chinese-American Staff Sergeant Hop Yuen was a crewmember in a B-17. He went on a bombing mission and was shot down over Germany. 5 of his fellow crew were taken prisoner, 1 was found dead and he and 2 others were never found. In 2013 documents were found indicating that Hop Yuen and the 2 others were captured and killed by the SS and then buried in a local cememtary. In 2021 the bodies were exhumed and lab work was done to positively ID them. Sergeant Hop Yuen's body was flown to San Francisco on January 31.
The SFPD press release below has more info, including that he had 3 brothers who also served in WWII and 3 sisters (only one sister living). His last remaining sister greeted him at the airport. There's also a video of the casket unloaded from the plane and then loaded on the hearse. I have to admit I got a little teary eyed watching his 93 year old sister lean over and touch the casket.
