I cannot garentee this will work with college or work people, I m in Junior year of my high school and whomever I gave this advice is either friends with that person or have already dating except a few who got rejected which is totally fine, remember u cannot always say they'll accept your proposal as they may have their own tastes...
- Never wait for the moment to talk to them, create the moment.
- Don't be scared to talk to them if their friends are around
- Ask small favors like notes or stationary but not to an extent they get annoyed
- It is OK if some of your or their friends know about your feelings for them, everybody has feelings for someone and gossips will not kill you. It's ok if u don't want it to be public so it's upto u.
- Try to be open to them, if u think they r trustworthy u can tell em small things about your life, they'll feel important
- DONT JUDGE ON LOOKS... someone who is pretty or handsome isn't always the best person
- Don't be afraid to accept the fact u have deep feelings for them, embrace it
P.S.: It isn't a red flag if they have dated before u, but it is if they have cheated on their previous partner, don't even dare think of partner who has cheated in past

I think I hit something whilst on the road today, so my splash shield was half off, so I had to take it off.
As you can see it's in pretty rough condition.
First question, is it better to just get a new one? If so, any ideas where to get one that's affordable?
Second question, I live in Southern Ontario, Canada so I'm wondering about the salt used on roads if that'll affect the car underneath and how quick that'll happen?
I'm curious if it's fine if I don't get one or not

2025.02.02 00:50 houseplant_hoe Looking for inspiration/ideas to hang plants across our skylight
 | (Not sure if this is considered “stuff” or not bc technically it’s a lack of stuff lol.) I hope I’m posting this in the right place. I’m looking for ideas to have hanging/trailing houseplants across our skylight. It is hot & gets tons of light, so the plants would be a great canopy for us (the rooms under it have no ceiling, it absolutely cooks us in the North Carolina summers). Plus I just love houseplants; I probably have about 90 or so throughout the apartment, & I’m looking for some unique/creative ways to set them up, and want to take advantage of our incredibly unique space. If you’re curious what kind of plants I would hang, probably trailing, sun/heat-loving hoya’s and some jungle cactus. As for watering, I’ll probably use some sort of pulley system. The particular plants aren’t a huge worry right now, but if you have recommendations please share! The main issue is we just can’t figure out a system we could install to make it possible to hang any plants from. We rent the apartment from my boyfriend’s parents who own the space. They’re pretty chill about modifications, within reason of course. We can’t drill into the sheet metal surrounding the skylight. I’m thinking we could utilize the two parallel I-beams on either side of the skylight, but I don’t know what we could put between them or how to support the weight of hanging plants. Maybe some kind of rod and C-clamps? Is that even possible?? It would have to be a very strong rod, considering it’s maybe ~15-20ft distance between the beams. Sorry for the long post. Today I got my acceptance letter for Temple. It was very cool and exciting but there was no aid given whatsoever. (Maybe they email that separately or something but I'm basing it off of my experience with getting into another school and in that school they put the aid they wanted to give in the acceptance letter).
I know I'm an out of state student and I did have a C+ in IB physics in 11th grade and a C- in Algebra 1 in 8th grade, but I really was not expecting no aid at all. Specifically because my student aid index from FAFSA is -1500 which is the lowest it can possibly be.
Anyways, time to pester the financial aid office ig.

2025.02.02 00:50 IlikeJG Thoughts so far on FF7 Rebirth from long time FF fan. (Spoilers from Original)
TLDR: REALLY enjoying myself. This might be my new favourite Final Fantasy. But there still are a few rough spots.
(Also I just got past Mt. Corel reactor so no Rebirth specific spoilers past there please)
I was initially a little underwhelmed. The flashback intro was good but not great. It slightly fumbled the buildup to Sephiroth's turn. It didn't feel as impactful as it did in the original. In the original when Sephiroth says the line "I'm going to see mother" and the Full Sephiroth theme finally kicks in it never fails to send chills up my spine. But it didnt hit as hard in this version. But I did enjoy the town and I liked the hints to Cloud's true nature strewn around.
Prologue was overall good.
But the initial first area was honestly pretty bad. It was cool to finally get out of the city and it looks beautiful (even though I'm playing on minimum settings). But they WAY overdid all the Chadley stuff. Chadley had to chime in at each and every thing you did. I didn't even dislike Chadley in the remake, but by the end of area 1 I was sick of him. I don't know who decided to have him feature so prominently. If we just dealt with him for maybe the Summon quest stuff and a few others it would be fine but not as much as they did.
Thankfully they seem to tone him down greatly in future areas. It was tolerable after that.
But outside of that I have been loving pretty much everything.
The combat feels amazing. It's my favourite combat system in the modern FF era (post FFX). And maybe my favourite FF combat period. Every character feels unique and overpowered in their own way. Except Nanaki. I haven't really had a an "Aha!" moment with him yet. Probably because I'm bad at using guard and timing it right and you gotta play into that for him. But out of Barret/Tifa/Cloud/Aerith/Yuffie I cant decide which is more fun to use. My current favorite is Yuffie as she just got Windstorm and it just feels so fun to dive into a group of enemies and windstorm+combo a bunch of times until they're dead.
Each and every new purple chest I run into I'm super excited to see what new weapon and new weapon ability I get. Some of them change the playstyle of the character completely like Aerith getting Radiant Ward.
So far my favorite sections have probably been Junon and Costa Del Sol. Junon was done very well. Even Roche was pretty cool and he's usually a bit cringey. Being the Captain of the 7th felt both fun and really impactful to Cloud. It really shows through how much he kinda misses his time working for ShinRa and how comfortable he feels in that role.
And Costa Del Sol was pretty much bound to be amazing. I liked most of the minigames (although The Rocket League minigame REALLY needs some better controls). And the Johnny sidequest was predictably hilarious.
I already know Gold Saucer is going to be another favorite. it's just inevitable. Which what they have done so far they would have to REALLY shit the bed to fuck up Gold Saucer enough for me to not like it.
I'm excited to continue on!
