We are friends with this couple who are incredibly thoughtful and generous. They recently bought a camper and we are going camping with them and their kids this summer. I want to get something to commemorate the trip, and am looking for thoughtful gift ideas for the parents and fun/maybe personalized gifts for the kids (4 and 6 years old). Trying to stick with camping themed gifts since they’ve gone all in on this thing and since a camping trip will be our first trip together. Any ideas? One caveat; I don’t want it to end up in a landfill / Amazon junk/plastic crap. Some thoughts I had: - wool blanket for parents - engraved stainless water bottles (or similar) - embroidered camping chairs

2025.02.02 00:41 ezence01 Anyone swtiched from an es350 to similar comfort? Wife wants to downsize from es350, but nothing seems to compare.
Back in 2015 we bought a 2014 es350 Luxury and 10 years later we need a replacement. We love everything about the es350 except its size so were hoping for a smaller alternative, but it's been pretty dissapointing so far. Here's a list of cars we've tried and our impressions. (Note we're holding off test driving newer lexus to see what's out there first) Our primary factors nooise isolation, comfort, smaller size, luxury interior
2024 Audi A3 - Way too much engine noise and road noise making it into the cabin. Ok interior quality 2023 Audi Q3 - Slightly better everywhere than the A3, but nothing impressive. 2021 bmw x1 - Just terribly heavy steering, stiff suspension, and again too much road noise in the cabin. 2024 Mazda CX-5 - Not as good as the Q3 anywhere except a bit more spacious. Good value for sure, but not what we want.
On the list to be tested. BMW X2 Newer BMW x1 BMW 228i - Though we might skip this one since I've read it is not as comfortable as the A3 and we didn't like the A3. Genesis G70 and GV70 Acura Integra Mercedes GLA Lexus NX350 Lexus IS350 Lexus ux250

I’m so worried. My baby just turned 6 weeks old yesterday. We have worked very hard to prevent her from catching any illnesses. My mother in law has called me every name under the sun because I have refused to take my baby to her house before she’s had her vaccines. She even tried to get us to bring her to her house when she was a week old for a Christmas get together. (When I was just a week postpartum, mind you. She even kissed our baby despite being told not to). She accused me of “playing games” and not letting my baby see her family for Christmas. I took those punches though cause I have wanted to keep her safe.
Well, my husband was unknowingly around someone at work who ended up testing positive for the flu. Come to find out this person knew they didn’t feel well but came to work anyways. Now my husband and I are both very sick and I’ve tested positive for the flu. We’ve been monitoring baby’s temperature and it was fine all but it was 99.7 just now. She was also very fussy. We’re on our way to the hospital to get her tested. We’re just so worried about our baby girl. And because she’s so little, they can’t give her tamiflu. Has anyone had an experience like this?

This is the first year I’ve started trying out the Hobonichi techo line, mostly because I got suckered into it by social media. No regrets, though, since I’m loving my A6, A5, and Weeks like heckie 🥰 Anyways, back to the actual point of this post…
After checking the spring lineup for 2025, I saw the 5-year techo. Since I’m turning 30 this year, it seems like a good idea to start one and try recording a line or two a year. This way, I can see how much things change in the five years coming up in my thirties. But then, I’m wondering now…
Is it too late for me to start one if I missed January? Also, seeing the concerns a lot of people had about the paper…is it worth getting? Or am I better off next year or somewhere else?
