Toyokawa Shinkin Bank incident On the chilly morning of December 8, 1973, three high school girls sat chatting in a train car on the Iida Line in Kozakai, Aichi. As the train rattled along the tracks, their conversation turned to their future after graduation. One of the girls, Yuuki, proudly shared that she had secured a job at the Toyokawa Shinkin Bank. Her two companions, Suzumi and Hinata, giggled and exchanged knowing glances before one of them quipped, "That’s dangerous."
Hinata had intended as a lighthearted joke, implying that a bank could be a target for robbery; there had been a small string of them in distant Tokyo afterall. Yuuki though took her words to heart. That evening, still troubled, she turned to her father at the dinner table, and asked, "Is Shinkin Bank dangerous?" Concerned but unaware of the origin of her daughter’s worry, Tanaka-san reached out to his brother, Kazuto, who lived near the bank’s main branch. Kazuto, puzzled by the question, promised to investigate, and mentioned it to his wife. His wife then passed it along to a local beauty salon owner, Sakura, the next day, wondering aloud while getting her hair done if Toyokawa Shinkin Bank might be in financial trouble.
Over the next several days, the question took on a life of its own. By December 10, Sakura had mentioned it to several of her customers, and her sister Erina, while in the presence of a cleaning service shop owner, Habumi, and his wife, Irena. By December 11, housewives in the town of Kozakai were whispering about it, their concerns growing - their husbands, not understanding, then took it to drinking parlours, and izakaya across the city. The words had mutated; what began as a vague inquiry had transformed into a definitive statement: "Toyokawa Shinkin Bank is in danger."
The situation escalated rapidly.
On December 13, an unwitting customer borrowed a telephone after hearing the rumour at the hair salon to request a routine withdrawal of 1.2 million yen. After overhearing the entirely routine transaction, other customers misinterpreted it as a desperate attempt to pull money before an impending financial collapse. Alarmed, Erina withdrew 1.8 million yen herself. Habumi and Irena, now convinced the bank was failing, spread the word further. An amateur radio operator, Sasuke picked up the rumor and broadcasted it to his some 3000 listeners.
Panic gripped the town. That same day, 59 depositors flooded Toyokawa Shinkin Bank, withdrawing a total of 50 million yen. Rumours flooded the town, from the local high school and onto the city-wide radio and then onto major radio afterwards Toyokawa was on fire.

"It will go into bankruptcy,"
"Its shutter will never be lifted up tomorrow morning,"
By December 14, hysteria reached its peak. The bank, scrambling to quell fears, issued a statement “The bank is not in trouble, we have sufficient and legal liquid”, but their efforts backfired. Customers misinterpreted procedural clarifications as confirmations of trouble. Local police were deployed for crowd control but this was misinterpreted by depositors who assumed they were investigating fraud. Wild rumors took hold - the radio rumour mill spiralled back up new claims were broadcast: embezzlement, missing billions, even a suicide by the bank’s chairman. None of it was true, but the damage was done.
Finally, on December 15, recognising the crisis, the Bank of Japan intervened. In a dramatic display of financial stability, they delivered stacks of cash to the Toyokawa Shinkin Bank's vault, piling it up to a conspicuous one-meter-high, five-meter-wide wall of bills. Newspapers were invited to watch, take photos and dozens including Tokyo based reporters scrambled to correct the narrative. Headlines read:
"5000 People, Manipulated by False Rumor" (Asahi Shimbun)
"Manipulated by False Rumor, Bank Run on Shinkin Bank" (Yomiuri Shimbun)
"Run by False Rumor" (Mainichi Shimbun)
Authorities posted notices in bank branches assuring depositors that Toyokawa Shinkin Bank was financially sound. The chairman, very much alive, appeared on national news that night - live - the first ever bank chairman to do a live interview in Japan. Slowly, reason began to prevail.
On December 16, police commenced their investigation and by December 18 had traced the rumor’s origins. NHK broadcasted their findings that same night, and the newspapers followed suit the next day. While remnants of fear persisted for several days, the wave of panic ultimately subsided.
What had begun as an offhand joke between high school friends had snowballed into a full-fledged bank run, a cautionary tale of how words, once set loose, can take on a momentum of their own.
Thankfully, in light of Japan’s globally dominant position, and stable oil prices, the run was not as bad as it could have been. Economic growth the previous year had been strong, and the effect was mostly localised.
However, the Finance Ministry and major banks took note, a discussion on reserve amounts had commenced at the highest levels to prevent this happen again. Several midsize banks have as a result published their earnings and reserve amounts to ensure stability in their local areas. While investors in all sorts of banks have done credit checks and liquidity process assurances in major banks.

Summary
OTL historical event - a small bank run that was sparked by the offhand joke of a school girl to her friend. ITL though it has been tamed by the lack of a 1973 oil crisis and general good economic prospects in Japan above OTL GDP growth. It has though sparked a discussion on bank reserve amounts that never happened historically which should preserve banks in the future. Local banks are taking measures to stabilise their own markets, and major banks are doing a round of credit checks and liquidity assurance.

I'm new to AR-15's and am looking for some feedback on a fixed mag build I am planning. I've spent a week searching and researching, and I think I have a solid build planned. Ok, so this may be weird, but I wanna ask anyway - but first, lemme explain....
Shortly after I got my MacBook, I bought a dock from a company called Tobenone. It worked fine and all, but later a friend bought me TS 4 dock, so I switched to that. But I still have the old dock - and there is nothing wrong with it. It's just sitting there, with all those ports - mocking me....
Is it possible to plug it into the TS 4 so I can use all or some of the ports on my old dock? No, I don't really NEED those other ports - but I am a huge fan of overkill, so I really kinda want to do this... but I don't want to damage anything - at least not unintentionally lol!
