2025.02.02 02:41 ThinkBigger01 Canada will retaliate with 25% tariffs on US imports and limit export of rare minerals as response to Trump tariffs! Trade war is on!
Canada is imposing it’s own 25 per cent tariffs on $155 billion worth of U.S. goods after U.S. President Donald Trump slapped Canada with 25 per cent tariffs on all goods and 10 per cent tariffs on oil, natural gas and electricity.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says the tariffs will take effect on $30 billion worth of goods starting Tuesday with a further $125 billion worth of products being taxed 21 days later.
Trudeau elected to go ahead with retaliatory tariffs even though Trump’s order includes a mechanism to escalate the rates if Canada retaliates against the U.S.
Canada will also look at how to limit export of rare minerals to the US which are crucial for US tech companies.
TLDR: Trade war is on! Stocks may take hit in coming days, weeks so position your portfolio carefully.

I have an Apertura AD10 that I bought not too long before the 4/2024 Solar Eclipse. Was great for that, but I haven't had a ton of time to put into it since then with work, and other stuff kicking my tail.
Traveled most of the month, but got home tonight and the sky was great, and Venus was right next to the moon. Went and grabbed my Dob, and got everything setup, only to realize I really have no idea what I'm doing with my eyepieces. Have spent the last 2 hours doing some research, and think I know what I'm going to do, but looking for some random Internet friends to validate (or call bullcrap!) on my path forward.
Right now I have the following: Apertura Superview 30mm Wide Field - Came with scope. Apertura ED 2x Barlow Apertura Plossl 9mm
I have never been able to get the Plossl t work at all. I was making the mistake as well of putting it in with the Barlow, which just distorts everything too much.
I watched a few videos, and really like Ed Ting, and his advice. My plan is to buy a couple of Tele Vue eye pieces. From his advice, I'm leaning in to a 27mm Panoptic for most viewing, and a 13mm Nagler for planets and the such. He had suggested an 11mm Nagler, but it appears Tele Vue no longer makes that.
Thoughts on the above? I assume that those two, combined with the Barlow should be pretty good for anything I want to look at? The 30mm that came with the scope is probably just not that good an option for most things.

2025.02.02 02:41 Stardust_Skitty How do I give up old habits (like drinking) and renew my mind? I heard God tell me to 'abstain'. I'm so traumatized without it, though.
I heard on a sermon today that: is there anything bringing you joy today, that should not be?
I have to say, I have some worldly pleasures that I need to abstain from. I was thinking on it and I heard someone say the word: abstain [from intoxication]
It's difficult when there are physical symptoms that come with abstaining, though, but I know God understands. Today He reminded me all about not falling back into old habits and promised me there is something much better for me if I abstain.
But do you have any advice? When it comes to something like drinking, how can someone just stop if they suffer from anxiety without it? I've been self medicating because I've been through many traumatic incidences. I can't name just the one thing that caused it, it was so many. Like the loss of my mom, my apartment (became homeless), my finances (still don't have a penny to my name), supernatural experiences, incarceration (not jail, but I lacked a bed and food so I told the hospitals I was suicidal in order to get help and a social worker; I spent about 11 months locked up in a hospital medicated with drugs I did not need to have because I lied about my symptoms in order to prevent homelessness), and more. The trauma from those things made me seek out numbness and happiness from things like wine.
It's a struggle. I self medicated before with things like wine because I was in a traumatic car accident. I got chronic pain from that and it was difficult to get back on my feet so I self medicated. Now after these incidences I've been self medicating again. I'm not a drunkard, I actually don't spend my hours hyperventilating about things and instead can shower, get ready, run errands, and do what needs to be done after I do something like drink. When I don't, I freak out and stay in bed.
I believe God will work a miracle in my life if I abstain. I've done it once before and He showed Himself to me. I believe Him when He says He has something better for me, but how can I let go of my safety net and crutch, especially since there are side effects like seizures and intense discomfort?
Sorry for unloading this on you guys, I just thought I could open up to you for some reason

I’m thinking of making videos unrelated to the content on my main account but I’m not sure if it’s worth making a new account. I’m sure there is some audience overlap and while I only have 2k followers on my main, to me that seems like a lot! My main is kpop stuff and the new one would be cozy games. My only worry is that there could be people interested only in the games part who all of sudden get kpop edits now on their following page (I never actually go to my following page but maybe others do). I’m not too worried about the opposite affect. I can’t make playlists yet otherwise I’d just keep the same account and actually organize things.
Thoughts?

45 (F) with a Mirena. My SHGB is 35. Total Testosterone 8 ng/dL. Testo Free 1.0 pg/mL. ACTH 27 pg/ML, Estradiol 84.6. I obviously am advocating for testosterone - especially after the recent study linking increased incidence of osteoporosis with low testosterone (my mother is riddled with osteoporosis and has only made it worse by welding herself to the couch). Seeing a doc who will allegedly prescribe - I suspect she will start with pellets. Any thoughts on whether any other forms will be better? Or thoughts on whether I should advocate for other hormones to maximize the benefits of the testosterone?
