First off, I really enjoyed Act 3 overall. The writers had the unenviable task of tying up all of the plot threads and giving each major character time to shine, to which I think they did a pretty great job. However, this single sequence really threw me off. And let me just say, I am not anti-CaitVi, I'm not against them getting a sex scene, I DO want Vi to be happy, I only think that the emotional focus of the prison sequence was misplaced.
My main issue with the interaction between Vi and Jinx in the prison is that, the way it's written, Vi approaches the situation seemingly without regard to Jinx's well-being. We just spent an entire act watching the sisters reconnect and Vi just witnessed first-hand the death of a child that she knew Jinx cared for. Even if Vi didn't know before just how deeply Jinx cared for Isha, one would think Jinx's state would tip her off. She comes to Jinx who is clearly, visibly, extremely depressed and asks her to help them in the coming fight. That's it. There's no mention of Isha, or Vander, or Jinx's well-being at all. The hug was great and showed how deeply Vi still cared about her sister - making the rest of the sequence feel all the more incongruent. Cait comes to the cell and Vi's only concern seems to be that Jinx refused to fight and that she "chose wrong" again in asking for Jinx's help. Vi's grief here is not in that her sister is obviously in severe distress, it's that she feels like Jinx went back to her old self, and she's upset that she "chose wrong" in going behind Cait's back and "siding" with Jinx. Hence her happiness at Cait's revelation that Cait essentially let Jinx go, hence happiness and relief that Cait is still "on her side", hence sexy times.
The problem with how this is written is that it relies on Vi being either completely oblivious to Jinx's emotional state, or apathetic to it - both of which seem like huge stretches to me. When Vi comes to Jinx, she knows:

Jinx's only concern after the Isha incident was getting Vi to safety
Jinx just watched a child she clearly cared for die, and possibly Vander as well
Jinx let herself be arrested (therefore Jinx's depressive state is not due to her arrest and must be due to something else, perhaps an extremely traumatic event that just occurred which Vi also witnessed...!)

And then, even after Jinx says possibly the most ominous shit imaginable, Vi still seems unconcerned with Jinx's emotional state. I mean, if anyone I cared about texted me, with NO context:
"You don't need to worry about me anymore"
"You deserve to be happy"
"There is no good version of me"
I would IMMEDIATELY call them and become EXTREMELY CONCERNED if they didn't pick up. And that's with NO context, i.e. Isha's death. If I knew this person had just lost a child or sibling the day before, I would be calling 911 and speeding over to their house.
I've seen arguments that, to Vi, this is just Jinx being Jinx again and Vi has no cause for concern. But when has Vi ever seen Jinx in a physical or mental state anywhere close to this? The closest is probably the end of Season 1 - in which Jinx did something incredibly drastic and destructive. For God's sake, before Jinx leaves the prison Vi even asks her, in apparent despaifear, "What are you going to do?", implying that she DOES suspect that Jinx is going to do something potentially drastic or destructive! And again, I think the only way the "to Vi it's just Jinx being Jinx" argument holds up is if Vi is completely oblivious to the context of Isha's death. Which we know she isn't! She was there! We even see Vi remembering Isha's death before she wakes up!
When Cait comes back and reveals she let Jinx go, I think it would've made way, WAY more sense for them to have a quick smooch (or a long smooch), have Vi say "I have to find her, Cait", and cut to the next scene. We would still GET that moment of Vi being happy that Cait is still on her side. The start of E9 could've been Vi looking for Cait, maybe bumping into Sevika who tells her where Jinx's hideout is and actually getting a speaking role in Act 3. Then Vi and Ekko - the two characters at that point who care about Jinx the most - could've tag-teamed talking her out of suicide. Maybe they could've done some interesting things with Vi & Ekko hot-potato-ing the Z-drive so that they take turns rewinding time and finding the right things to say. This would've been an opportunity for Vi & Jinx to finally have a real heart-to-heart, give them both a real healing moment, and allowed the final episode, and Act 3 as a whole, to ground itself in what's always been the emotional heart and soul of the show - the relationship between these two sisters. For me, that emotional grounding was what was missing the most from E9, especially given the fantastic buildup in Act 2 of Vi & Jinx slowly reconnecting.
Vi isn't even plot-critical at the start of E9! She doesn't speak during the council meeting scene, and she doesn't have any character interactions during the beginning of the fighting! She could've flown in with Jinx and Echo without changing the rest of the plot at all, and it could've been an even better "here comes the cavalry" moment where we the audience are not only satisfied at Jinx joining the fight, but also at the emotional resolution we got between Vi and Jinx.
Anyway, Arcane still good. There is beauty in imperfection. I'm happy lots of people are happy with Act 3 as-is. Agree to disagree. Fuck Maddie. etc etc.

I have small fiber neuropathy and dysautonomia from COVID. I also have EoE. So I started Dupixent last year. It really helped my EoE and even helped my dysautonomia a little bit (I was not as lightheaded and tired). But I developed horrible dry eye partly from Dupixent but mainly from SFN. So I stopped Dupixent. My last dose was Sept 17th. Ever since the 2nd week of October I have felt worse and worse in terms of lightheaded and fatigue. Does anyone else have experience with Dupixent and Long COVID and/or Dysautonomia? TIA

2024.11.24 23:40 Gorotheninja I've been having some kind of FPS drop/stutter bug across two different Lenovo gaming laptops, and I can't figure out what's causing it.

On the Epic games version, the game keeps randomized dropping frames, and occasionally stuttering, in both the HUB and in levels. This issue has persisted across two different Lenovo 4080 laptops; one with an AMD 7945hx CPU, and one with an Intel i9-14900hx CPU. Tried different graphics settings, upscaling, disabling anti-virus, re-downloading both the game AND nvidia drivers, and other methods to no avail; neither my cpu or my gou are throttling, according to HWInfo, and there seems to be no pattern to when the fps drops/stutters occur.
I'm out of ideas.

I’m not sure where to ask this but I’ve tried to download both wildlands and breakpoint on pc, but it keeps going between M&K and controller.
