2024.11.25 03:49 rrjbam How do I call my Doctor?
Run into a handful of medical issues this year and it's the first time I've had to extensively communicate with my doctor on my own instead of my mom advocating for me (I'm 21 and also just switched to an adult doctor).
Anyways, some symptoms I've been having are worsening and I want to call my doctor tomorrow to ger her opinion/advice, but I don't really know how to. I have to call the front desk first and I have no idea what to say.
What's too much information? What's too little? It doesn't help that the lady who answers the phone most of the time is pretty rude and judgmental. I feel like I have to say the exact perfect thing and I'll still get a nasty response. Any older autistic adults have a script for stuff like this?

I'm going to be forward here and say, I miss you. Alot. Things had gotten weird between us towards the end there before I hurt my knee. But I'll never forget you getting that cake for me on my birthday so I wasn't all alone.
You're birthday is coming up in a few days. I wish I could bring you a cake to eat outside on that concrete wall during breaks, but Im still out for my knee.
I wonder if your going to ignore me again when I go back to work. If you want me to be honest with you, that would kill me. I think I will quit if they happens. I'd have no other reason to be there at that point. The job isn't worth it.
I still sit here and hope she realizes how lucky she is, I would have given ANYTHING to be her some days. To have you, to be able to love you, to be the one you came home to every day. I was so in love with you.

Hello, I just want to share my story to get outside opinions here. I am currently 10w 4d pregnant. 8w DOC. I went to a clinic when I first found out at was 6w 5d DOC along (that’s what the clinic nurse said they were measuring at). I seen both babies. Both had cardiac activity. The nurse did have a very hard time finding both babies and picking up the cardiac activity. But when she did they were both strong and healthy. Fast forward to Thursday, I started having a sharp pain? I guess you could say on my right side. It was too bad and honestly the cramping I had for the first 2 weeks of pregnancy (around 4w DOC) was way worse. But Iv had a miscarriage before so I panicked and went to the hospital Thursday night. After a 45 minute ultrasound, on my belly and internally they deemed I lost both babies around 6w 5d. That’s what they were both measuring at Thursday night. The ER nurse then relaid there was no heart beat and I lost them. But I seen them both healthy on the 12. So I had lost them for almost 11 days? He told me the oncall OB read over the ultrasound tech notes and concluded a miscarriage and with that sharp pain I’m probably going to pass them over the weekend. They would not write me a prescription for the pill because in my state ER staff cannot. They sent me home and quite literally said “good luck” and call my OB Friday morning. My CBC panel is all in normal range. No high white blood count and as of Thursday night my HCG is 32,000. I woke up Friday, no pains at all and still no bleeding. I called my OB and the nurse answered, i explained everything going on then realistically told her my concerns on wanting to get in asap because I just feel like something isn’t right. She then proceeded to read off the ER staffs visit summary and say that they conclusively stated I had a miscarriage. “There’s no heartbeat for either one of them honey. I know you want to hold on but one of our OB’s was the one on call that lastnight and clearly stated it’s a miscarriage” she then told me to hold please because their medical director who is also an OB messaged her while we were on the one. The medical director told her to relay the message for me to not take any unsafe pain meds if the pain continues UNLESS I start bleeding and passing tissues. Until I KNOW it’s a miscarriage do not do anything until they see my for an apt Tuesday (in two days). So all day Friday no bleeding or pains. Saturday, no pains at all and no bleeding. Sunday, no pains and all and still no bleeding. However it is Sunday night and I feel like I’m having small muscle spasms in my uterus? Idk it’s not consistent and happened a couple of times for a few seconds then stops so idk what that is. Anyways, I went back and looked at my previous miscarriage blood work, I lost that baby the week prior to finding out (7days exactly per the drs measurements of the baby) and my HCG was already down to 1,900, my blood work showed high white blood cell counts indicating an infection had already set in too in just a week… after having one miscarriage Iv tried my very best to remain glass half empty, especially with twins. I knew the likely hood of this happening was high but at the same time I can’t help but feel as though the ER got it wrong here… is it normal to loose both fetuses 11 days ago and not hav ANY indication? I understand a missed miscarriage but my HCG is still very high, my blood work is beautiful and I feel perfectly fine physically… advice or something please
