First of all I want to say I wasn’t diagnosed with depression but 12 months ago at the age of 15 I was not in a good mental place. Nobody around me could see what was going on in my head. I was battling really bad anxiety and overall losing discipline and any motivation to do simple things that you would do to care for yourself.
XXXTENTACION. I first listened to his music when I was around 8-9 years old. I heard him for the first time in 2017-2018. Now at this time I liked his music but had no idea of the meaning behind his songs or really anything about him. I use to just listen to his music while gaming and even used his songs on the background of some of my old YouTube videos. I remember one time listening to save me and just really vibing with it.
Around 5 months passed after I first found out about him, and I heard the news of his death. Back then I wasn’t devastated or anything but I was sad. After that I moved on as a happy kid and didn’t listen to him much after that
2023 November. I remember feeling overwhelmed with emotions. I couldn’t say the last time I cried. I had so much anxiety it felt hard to talk. I grabbed a towel and clothes and went into the shower. I had a speaker with me and I opened up Spotify. I had an urge randomly after not listening to X for a few years to play some of his music. I did just that and wow the relief I felt. The first song back to him I played was moonlight. I just felt so much nostalgia from it that I just bursted out into tears. I cried for at least 20 minutes. I felt a lot better afterwards. Then I went to sleep.
The next day I did the same thing again hopped in the shower and played X this time I did save me and same thing again. I cried and cried and cried. I could feel the tension realising from my body. At this point I found there is some type of connection I have with his music, that for me I couldn’t find in ANY other artist.
From this point it took me about a week to be able to listen to his music without crying. Along with his music I started watching lots of clips of him before he died and I started to realise how wise this man was. And learning how he had died hurt even more. At such a young age.
X started to become like a drug to me. I couldn’t stop listening to him. And I loved this. From now to then X is still the only person I listen to. I kept listening to his music and I kept finding more and more songs from him that I loved. It’s still crazy to me how many songs he made that I would rate A tier. The last 12 months now that I think about it, I had just been slowly but Surely been discovering so many songs from him that I hadn’t previously known about before. And this process was beautiful.
I started studying things that X was doing. I started trying to be a more positive person instead of dwelling on the past. I started forgiving my self, for any mistakes I made in the past. Because X taught me that people can change. And I strongly know and believe that although he had done bad things a few years before he had died. He was changing and working on himself and trying to make a huge positive impact on the youth and others around him.
Since I started listening to him again my life has gotten a lot better. I’m more positive. I’m doing way more things that I love and enjoy like going to the gym and doing basketball. I’m concentrating harder than ever before in school. I just feel more focused. But I can tell you I don’t go a day without listening to X and it has been like that for a year now. I’m going to Ski mask the slump god’s concert in 7 days and I’m excited as for some of X’s music to be played there. I utilised X as a shoulder to cry on. I can’t describe how strong the connection is I feel to his music. He has healed me more than a therapist ever would. I’m not saying therapists are bad even X had one, but X is my therapist. RIP Legend

I will soon need to replace my old laptop for work related purposes (starting a few businesses). It’s pretty run down but still slightly functional. However, my contract is up on my iPad and I’m now able to finance a brand new one without changing the price.
One business will be my main one and will require mostly PDF editing through adobe acrobat or something similar (inserting and organizing pages, adding text and pictures, and page numbers etc.) some writing on word, and the use of excel or a spreadsheet program as well.
The other is more of a side hustle turned hobby. It really doesn’t require much except I would like to become more better at digital art and creating so I know an iPad would be great for it.
Ideally I would like an iPad that could be functional as a laptop as well but with the capability to connect to a monitor and keyboard and mouse so it can essentially function as a desktop too when I want but also just be an iPad.
Do iPad’s really function well in that capacity or should I just get a new laptop and keep the iPad I have?

Now I discovered in the logs that there were many requests not related to my server. I suppose those are some sort of sniffing attempts.

2024.11.25 13:39 heptanova If you only get to keep one good chopping board and a cheap flimsy one, which would you use for raw and cooked food, and why?

I’ve been using plastic boards exclusively in the past year since I moved out from my family.
I’m now considering to replace the set with a decent end grain wooden board and a cheap thin and light plastic/bamboo piece. (due to budget and space limitations)
For context I use my cleaver quite extensively especially when prepping Asian dishes.
On one hand I hacking raw meats like spare ribs and chicken for steaming and stir fries. On the other hand I prefer chopping corn hobs and cooked chicken and char siu etc as this preserves the shape better than slicing (especially when there are still bones and tendons inside)
I decided I needed a better board when I literally split one plastic board in half and the rest of the set are warping due to repeated impact.
How would you use the two boards if you were me?

I really can't say anything else anymore. No matter what I do, I don't make any progress and everything backfires. I really don't think I deserve to be alive anymore. Just stop that stupid running in circle already and just end it. You guys proved me that I'm not worth it to be around anymore. Why also should I keep suffer when there's an easy way out? I don't want to suffer for no reason anymore, just so someone can look down on me and tell me everything is easy or it's all my fault.
