I found this video on Youtube who is a consciousness researcher, he shows something interesting at 0:50-3:30 https://youtu.be/BMUnN52i2Dg?si=4FNGfgWineqsPik0&t=51 where he describes a scentscape and using specific chemicals to create a garden scene. I also did some browsing and came upon his website Scents by the Qualia Research Institute (qri.org). I'm new to fragrances and scents and thought this was interesting. Can someone who is more knowledgeable about this stuff basically explain what he's talking about?

2024.11.25 14:50 nakra_ Old HDD IDE Maxtor DiamondMax Plus 9 doesn't power up.
Hello,
So I bought one of those cheap IDE/SATA to USB in order to recover some old files and archives them in a newer HDD. It worked well with two older 3.5 IDE HDD (20GB and 40GB from 2001) and a 2.5 SATA HDD from 2006). One of them actually doesn't power up at all.
- Maxtor
- IDE - Maxtor DiamondMax Plus 9 - 3.5' - ATA 160GB. Made in 2004
- NTFS or FAT32, I don't remember what I used back then.
- It was running back then on Windows XP (tested on MacOS Sequoia and Windows 10 today)
I checked several time the connection between pin and power cable. I also checked the back of the HDD (didn't open it): all connector look fine but I know it would need a deeper (electronic) inspection.
This HDD was stored in a plastic box among other hard drive for years, but it was the only one not inside those anti-static electricity cover which is usually sold with hardrive. Maybe the hardrive is damaged because of that?
I thought about using OpenSuperClone mentionned in this subreddit, but if the HDD is not powering up at all, wouldn't that be pointless?
Is there anything else I missed to try?

Has anyone encountered this? It doesn't happen every time an add shows up, but more like half of the times. And since it becomes unresponsive only for ads, it doesn't seem to be a bug but intentional designs.

So not sure how to go about this. I’m not the person to ever ask for anything but my best friend is going on a trip to Hawaii soon. He travels every week for his business and I used to be his videographer as well so I’d travel with him but I don’t work with him anymore. We are still close friends. I’ve never been to Hawaii and really want to go so would it be wrong of me to ask him if I can tag along? I don’t want to get the sense that I am inviting myself or look like im using him for a trip but if I pay for all expenses would I still be in the wrong to ask him? We talk regularly and are have been best friends for 15 years if that helps. He travels the US weekly and goes out of country a lot as well so it’s nothing new to him. I have never been there and don’t have anyone that ever takes a trip over there so this is really like a one time thing for me haha. Should I ask if I can go with him and his friends (whom I know) if I pay my way over there without him paying for me? Thanks!
