So I did a full clean and water change of our hot tub one week ago — the full meal deal: A big hit of chlorine then ahh-some in the pipes, full drain and filter change, washed the shell top-to-bottom with vinegar solution, etc. etc. etc.
Then I refilled and the did the chemicals. Then in the six days since, I've tested the water twice a day and the total/free chlorine levels have been at "normal" or just above. Never once has it even dipped a tiny bit into the "maaaaaybe just add a little more" zone.
And yet, my sister (who uses it once a day for about 40 minutes) got a rash. The rash, like previous ones she's gotten from our hot tub, is right where the water line is (neck and shoulders).
Any ideas what's going on here, especially given:

The water is only one week old.
I've kept on top of the chlorine levels twice a day.
The water looks very clean.

What am I missing?

So Neteyam died at the end of Twow but that's nothing new, but I still haven't gotten over it but anyway, just a theory, I was thinking that it would be stupid to give Neteyam such character development and kill him off at the end of the movie, so maybe I'm thinking that The Sully family might try to I dunno hold a human scientist hostage or something? I dunno how it would work but it would be cool if they tried to do what Quaritch did and bring him back and give him all his personality and memories etc. I'm mainly trying to find ways to gaslight myself to believe he didn't die soooooo I dunno sue me

2024.11.25 17:35 ilovegoogle33 Need some help with Monitor and MQTT Broker in Home Assistant

I’m getting an error that I can’t connect to the MQTT broker. I can’t find anybody else struggling. My mqtt_preferences are correct (I'm assuming), my usernames and passwords everywhere match, I can ping my home assistant instance from the pi that I’m running monitor on. I published from the pi and then opened another shell and subscribed to the topic and can see the message. I just can't get the pi to see the MQTT broker itself. Any ideas?
I also did a full removal of monitor and installed it again, along with removing and reinstalling the Mosquitto Broker add-on and the MQTT integration as well.

I moved across the country and broke my thumb nail at the worst spot and decided to go get a gel manicure to hold it together while packing and moving. It last about 3 weeks before I noticed the break broke through the layers of the gel. The tech put so many layers that the nail ended up being really thick and I thought that would do the trick. I don't want to trim this nail this short or get hooked into gel manicures to keep it long. I'm bargaining with my nail everyday to please not break further.
