Well, it turns out Downdetector itself is down. I only get an odd "redirecting to" message, but with no information on where it's redirecting to (that part is blank).
Google search links to specific Downdetector pages give the same result.

2024.11.25 19:52 nek4life App Engine Update Max instances without new Deployment
Sometime ago, I setup a tag server using the App Engine deployment method found here:

The configuration uses a shell script that I believe generates a config.yaml that is used to deploy the tag server.
I would like to update the current max instances without changing the current deployment. It looks like the nodejs runtime of the current app needs to be updated and I'm concerned that if there is an issue I won't be able to roll back.
Is there an option to increase the max instances using gcloud without triggering a new deployment?
I can run the shell script again to update the app, however it will change the runtime, app image, etc.

I’ve been observing that these days, almost 8 out of 10 guys have beards. This made me think about how things were a decade ago, around 2012-2013. Back then, most men were clean-shaven, and beards were often associated with someone who had "lost everything" or were generally uncommon. Even in movies, the main characters—especially heroes—were mostly clean-shaven or had just a mustache, while villains were more likely to have beards.
However, somewhere around 2013-2015, this started to change. Beards became more common, and even men with patchy or uneven growth began embracing them. (Personally, I’m not a fan of patchy beards, but that’s just my opinion.)
I think Virat Kohli played a major role in this shift. When he was younger (around 21-22 years old), he was clean-shaven. Later, around 2013-2014, he started sporting a French beard, and then eventually a full beard. Soon after, I noticed more and more men adopting beards, almost as if it became a cultural phenomenon.
I remember that in the early 2010s, men’s salons mostly offered clean shaves and simple haircuts, but now the focus is heavily on beard grooming.
Do you think Virat Kohli was the one who started or popularized the beard trend among men? Or was it just a general shift in style trends during that period? Would love to hear your thoughts!

We plan to take a look at the past few years of Operation Rolling Thunder and have records requests into the Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office for reports like what the Institute for Justice ultimately got after suing SCSO (it only looked at 2022). We're looking for people who want to share their experiences from the annual interdiction effort for our upcoming reporting.
What kind of story are we looking to write? Well, we'll follow the facts and want to build as broad of a picture as possible of the annual operation that relies heavily on civil asset forfeiture, which critics say is ripe for abuse. That's why we're looking for people's Rolling Thunder stories to go with whatever documents we receive from the sheriff's office. And while this year's operation was last week and is still relatively fresh for anyone who was stopped or affected by the 100 vehicle searches, we're also interested in past operations.
