Hello strangers this last year has been one of the hardest of my life for a number of reasons but least of all being due to the cut hours at my office with decreased pay (without decreasing the work load) I’ve been working side gigs to make ends meet but honestly these ends still ain’t meeting enough even though I’ve been working my tail off to help get this place that I love back to full time. Alas my provider and best NP I have ever worked under had to leave due to the money not matching the stress and with how saturated my area is with medical professionals it’s so hard to get an offer worth a damn. But I have finally found such an offer and I feel like I should be happy and I am thankful but honestly I’ve had breakups that have been easier than this. The amount of love and support and appreciation from my parents has me here fight back tears. Sometime you forget how important you are in your patients lives and how important your work is. I’ve always took pride in my work but honestly I’m not used to being so openly SEEN for it it overwhelming but in a good way I think. It reminds me that even tho it sucks sometimes I don LOVE what I do and what I do does matter. Sorry for the ranting to the void and if you somehow made it hear thank you for listening haha

Good evening
I’m looking for some advice as to how best to proceed regarding a situation that occurred at my younger brothers school today.
My brother is a year 7 student, 11 years of age and has diagnosed Autism Spectrum Disorder.
To cut a long story short, the school have stated my brother was disruptive in a lesson and was asked to leave and go to “isolation”, to which my brother refused. His account is that he was walking around the classroom in order to calm down after being distressed by a situation beforehand. This happens in other lessons/classes with other teachers and they allow this as they understand this to be his coping mechanism and they know he will be sat down and calm again within minutes. On this occasion, a “behavioural officer” came into the class, took my brothers belongings and asked him to go with him, he was told no. That teacher left, another teacher, dubbed on the school website as a “student support worker” came in and said words to the effect of “you can either make this easy and come with me, or do it the hard way and I carry you like a bag of shopping”. Again, my brother refused. It’s worth noting at this point that my brother has what they call a “SEND pass” which allows him to leave a class when he is distressed and use a quiet room to work/calm himself. A number of teachers are aware of this and have offered him this before, instead of isolation for the “naughty kids”. To continue, my brother refused this teachers offer to come easy, to which he was physically restrained and carried out of the class. After this, my brothers account is that he was “thrown” to the floor by the teacher. Now, when my mum asked him to explain that he said “he felt himself falling to the floor and landed on his knees, and it felt like the teacher had purposely made this happen”. Now, as part of my brothers ASD, he isn’t able to lie, everything is factual because that’s the way his brain works, he can’t conjure up a story because his mind only portrays the factual side of an event. He struggles in various aspects with this part of his ASD. Further to this, the teacher has called my brother, quote, a “fucking creature” and has also told him “don’t come that autism shit with me, it doesn’t wash”.
An account from my brothers best friend is that this teacher is always swearing around students, whilst monitoring a detention and when speaking. My brother has also told us that he was swearing in the pastoral care room in the presence of other teachers and nobody intervened. This was whilst my brother was physically emotional and crying whilst apologising to the teacher because he was really sorry for his actions. Again, once a situation has been de-escalated, my brother will often gather his emotions, and then become emotional about his own actions.
The final point, my mum received a generic copy-and-paste email this morning to say that my brother would be late out of school as he will be attending a 30 minute after school detention but had no communication regarding any other events during this incident.
Where do we stand with this and apart from demanding a meeting with the senior leadership, safeguarding and SENDco at the school, what would be the advisable next best steps?
I’m sorry for the long post, we would just like some clarification on this.

Hi all! So I wanted to come on here and share a rough plan that I want to execute to see what you all think. So, my plan is to buy a Boston whaler (hull only) in the mid teen range size. 17ish preferably. With this, I will buy a tiller motor and hopefully a trolling motor (if I have the funds). With that I will probably make it like a skiff with a grab bar and maybe a polling platform. What do you guys think of this plan? Any thoughts, suggestions, or advice is welcome!
