2024.11.25 20:30 Qijaa Food contamination despite following directions? Is my sample cooked?
Hey all,
I followed as instructed and didn't eat/drink/brush for 30 minutes before sampling (t was actually closer to 45 or an hour).
Despite that I noticed one piece of I think lettuce (it was a small green flat square) get into the vial. Very noticeable to the naked eye. Notably, the saliva itself was whitish/clear (not green or yellow), so I don't believe it was widespread food contamination, just a chunk that was probably stuck between my teeth that I dislodged.
I shipped it off anyways, but should I expect it to fail on arrival?
In retrospect, I guess I should have brushed my teeth an hour before or something, but I happened to have a weird open window in which I could do the test.

Hi- I have suspected SIBO and diagnosed c. Diff, IBS, PCOS with IR, neuropathy, and an autoimmune disease. I am pending a SIBO test with a specialist in February.
My gut metabolism issues are very much interfering with my ability to take any oral autoimmune mediating medication, even at low doses. Which leaves my autoimmune disease untreated and progressing.
I am on metformin XR 2000 mg for PCOS. I do not have diabetes but insulin resistance. Not looking to come off metformin.
Anyone have experience with taking both metformin and (low dose) berberine?

Before anything else, I am so sorry for posting a picture of my butthole, but I think that is the unfortunate byproduct of this subreddit so I'm sure you all knew what you were in for.
I (27M) never had hemorrhoids before and this one showed up a little over a day ago. I googled my symptoms (i.e. mild discomfort/pain, swelling) and it said hemorrhoid, so I was curious what to do about it which led me to this sub, which in turn got me curious enough to take a picture of it. Needless to say there are 2 small black spots and larger swelling than I thought. I am both incredibly embarrassed but also worried.
I know it's not really a related issue, but my brother has had ulcerative colitus and other similar issues which has led to lifelong issues and my father had colon cancer and what began as discomfort and curiosity has now led to full paranoia. If anyone can help with advice or something please do!
