Posting because I'm wondering if anyone else is in the same boat when doing research. It seems like every brand has major issues that's causing me to shy away, and I now have decision paralysis. Among others:
- Viofo has freezing issues with popular models (like the A119 Mini 2), widespread reports of disappearing files after collision 1/2/3/4, very narrow SD card support, file corruption after pressing the emergency button, and doesn't always give error messages if something's wrong.
- Thinkware cams are bulky, have tons of optional components that look silly (like external GPS), and bad software and firmware that gets seldom updated. The latest Arc (X800 successor) doesn't even let you manually save a video (wtf) and can't read >64gb SDs despite manufacturer claims. In 2024.
- Blackvue has no screen options and is very expensive for what you get, with terrible support in NA.
- Garmin mostly uses batteries (wtf?) instead of capacitors in their higher end models, and capacitor models don't seem to last very long (like the Mini 2) and have generally poor reviews.
- Amazon brands gonna Amazon brand (i.e., stay away).
All I want is a >720p cam that loops and saves footage reliably, but that seems a lot to ask these days. Wondering how others in this position have made out, and what you ended up getting. Cheers

Hi, I am finally stepping down from my previous jobs of nannying and swim teaching to try and find something steadier and better paying. However, I only have a month to do so.
I’ve only ever worked part-time jobs. But I finally need something consistent; a 9-5.
I’m 25 and have been living on my own for a year. Rent isn’t cheap, and while I have been managing, there have been some very tight months. Also, I’ll be 26 next year which means I will be off of my parents’ insurance. The kids I watch are being placed in daycare/preschool starting January, and I am no longer teaching swim lessons.
I know beggars can’t be choosers, so I will take what I can get, but if I’m allowed to be specific, I’m looking for a few qualities in a job:
- Steady and consistent hours. 9-5 is fine with me.
- I’d prefer not to work on weekends, so Monday-Friday schedule.
- No customer service. Been there, done that.
- Routined expectations. I would love a job that gives me a strict set of tasks that I can expect each day and follow through. Whether that be entering data into a computer or writing emails, etc.
- Benefits. Specifically insurance.
- No phone calls. It’s not that I can’t do it, but my hearing isn’t great, and even worse on the phone. It wouldn’t be a good idea for me to take a ton of phone calls every day.
- It would be AMAZING to work remote, but I understand that’s not ideal everywhere. I’m okay with going to an office of sorts, but if there are any remote job ideas, I would love to hear them.
I’m incredibly detail-oriented. I’m super artsy, but understand there’s not many high paying careers in that (sigh). I love routine. I strive for organization. I’m good at event planning. I’m great at working on Google Drive (docs, slides, sheets). I’m a fast and efficient learner—I taught myself how to crochet, for instance.
If you took the time to read this, thanks! And if you have any suggestions I would be SO grateful. I just applied for an administrative assistant at my county school, but I can’t put all my eggs in one basket. Thanks again in advance!

I have a Wave XLR and picked up an XLR Dock for my Stream Deck Plus. If the software can only handle 1 device, fine. The limitation of not being allowed to run said device if a second device is connected is garbage. I love all of my Elgato devices, but not being able to put one to use now is very frustrating. I shouldn't have to close the software everytime I want 2 devices plugged in to the PC. I'm not going to sacrifice using Wavelink, but I also shouldn't have to rely on 3rd party software for my main interface. Also, now that I've unplugged the original and set up the new device, trying to switch back to the original removed all of my VST effects. This is a huge deal breaker. Please fix your software to be more friendly. Otherwise, it's been a good experience.

Hi everyone, I love nutrition and exercise and plan to go into sports nutrition. At my current job I make $65k/year. I am in a union and my employer pays my health insurance, vision, and dental. I have 4 weeks paid vacation, 10 sick/personal days, holiday pay including my birthday, tuition reimbursement of up to $10k/year, guaranteed raise every year, $25k life insurance included at no extra cost - which all sounds great on paper, right? But I don't love what I do. I've been here 20 years, I'm burnt out, my commute is miserable (I work in a big city so 13 miles takes me 1.5hrs 🤦🏻♀️) and I hate being trapped in an office 8+hrs a day. I graduate in May with my bachelor's degree and should be done with my masters + supervised practice hours the following year. After reading SO MANY posts about the crappy pay and how much people regret going into this field I'm scared I'm making a mistake. I feel like it's too late to go back now, but I'm torn. I'm up for a promotion at my current job (which I've maintained full time hours at all through my degrees). I will accept the promotion as I still have 1.5 years left and it provides me with some flexibility in hours while I complete my rotations. Am I making a huge mistake? Is following your passion worth it? I just feel like I have so much more to offer and am needing that feeling of loving my job so much it doesn't feel like work. I have a vision of how I picture my future in this career but can't tell if I'm living in a fantasy. I keep telling myself there's a plethora of options out there in this field but seeing so much negativity really has taken the wind out of my sales. If you made it this far: Thanks for reading. This year I’m only taking AP World which honestly is light but just a big workload. I need to do up to Algebra 2 at least at my high school and now I’m in geometry but I was wondering asides this, my senior year since I might to do it, is AP PreCalc or AP Stats bad? Also would you recommend APUSH? History is cool but the only thing is the class period also might be the same as for this other class (non-AP) I want to take.
Next Year I plan on doing these for sure: Continuing with Cross Country AP Environmental Science AP Lang Algebra 2 (maybe honors) Video Production or Urban Farming APUSH or USH
Also this is secondary but what is more beneficial to take senior year, AP Lit or Dual Enrollment?
