Hey Reddit,
After many months of searching for a new job, hours of interviews, countless rejections, I finally received a job offer today over the phone. I'm currently employed but been really unhappy for a while (crappy boss I don't have a good relationship with plus major org changes/turnover), so I'm super thrilled and relieved I finally got an offer.
However, the salary isn't that big of an increase (a couple thousand at most) and it is a lateral move in terms of seniority. My main hesitation is that they would require 3x/week in office-days. My commute would be an hour by train and I would be responsible for paying for the commuting fees. I currently only go into the office 1x/week so it would be a shift in my schedule and increase in expenses.
That said, I haven't negotiated anything yet as I'm waiting on the formal letter document with all the details listed out. In the beginning of the process, the recruiter mentioned the budget for this role is very strict and they would unlikely be able to increase it beyond their range. Has anyone has negotiated beyond the salary range provided and if so, what was your experience? Should I leave my current role I've been unhappy with for a role that's a slight improvement in pay?

I haven't been able to do a water change on my tanks recently, doing them today I spotted these orbs scattered in my substrate but I can't ID them at all.
