So I stay in newhaven and I’ve noticed over the last 20 or so years of living here this noise. Happens several times a day, sometimes twice in a row, I’ve heard it 3 times sometimes too! It is sort of like a deep whirring sound, only lasts a wee second though and always the same noise. Best way I could describe it is it’s like a sports car going past really fast but only a moment. Does anyone know what this could be because me and my family have been wondering for years!

2024.11.25 23:29 burntwafflemaker An attempt to make every type feel seen by an ISTP (1/16): INFP
I’m writing these out to myself by quadrant. I started with the 4 types whom I share 0 conscious cognitive functions (xSTJ/xNFP). I don’t know how long it will take me to do the other 3 quadrants. Hope it’s well received in spite of length.
Apologize in advance for the length. Trying to make every type feel seen is much harder when trying to dissect my experience with my inverse type. Nonetheless, my experience with INFP’s has been solid in my memory because what you do seems so “anti-me.” You’re different, even opposite in how you filter and handle the world. For that reason, I am fascinated by you. How can someone do almost nothing the way I would do it and still find their way in the world? Here’s what I’ve learned from you thus far:
1) Your “detachment” that people use to describe you doesn’t seem to be detachment at all. I’m detached. I use my Ti-Ni combo to completely separate myself from every constant in my environment and operate freely. It bothers me when people pretend you are too “dreamy” or even “delusional” just because of the world that you experience internally for fun. Unhealthy INFP’s might spend too much time in their internal world, but I don’t experience this with the average INFP. My experience with INFP’s is that they are engaged with the external world, extremely passionate about their work, constantly checking their reality to suppress their dreamy nature while still allowing it to serve as a guide as they innovate constantly so as to make sure their effectiveness cannot be heavily scrutinized. It’s risk that INFP’s need time to evaluate. Work is just work. And you’ll do it with a level of commitment and consistency I wish I could accomplish.
2) In addition to your readiness to work is my favorite quality of INFP’s that they exhibit with the most urgency: you love to help. My daughter is INFP and I found one of her old Father’s Day “things I love about dad” things. Her favorite thing about her dad was “he tries to help everyone in the house.” Her favorite thing to do with me was “help dad make dinner.” Any time we are doing something, she wants to help. She has no fear of being “bossed around” if it’s helping someone (though she has a limit just like anyone). Contribution is your thing. I cannot imagine how many of you have wanted to pull over and help someone on the side of the road but haven’t because they might think it’s weird. And that must be the source of it: “if I do this, it’ll make sure someone doesn’t feel the way I feel when I’m stuck trying to figure out something. If I help them, at least they won’t feel alone while they try to figure it out.” I hope this resonates with you, because this is truly how I see you: you’ll try and reduce the emotional weight people feel whenever you can.
3) You’re at your best when you power through the fear of how someone could diagnose your actions and what they mean. It’s mildly heart wrenching (something I’m actually capable of despite the oxymoron) for me when around INFP’s who seem to do what I call “running from diagnosis.” They do something and say “I hope you don’t think I’m _____.” My response is usually some form of “you’d have to do a lot more than that for me to think that.” Just because you do something that could be taken out of context and assigned a poor diagnosis, your heart remains well intentioned. I have been misperceived before. I’m neither sensitive nor led by the desire to take actions that I believe to be morally good or collaborative though. Encountering moments where an INFP feels the need to explain the moral good in their actions hurts my heart because that means someone has accused them of being the opposite of that when giving their pure, intentional effort. I would encourage those of you that deal with that fear to practice doing what you feel is right despite it. People that cannot see the good in what you do may never be able to but they can respect the authenticity you bring, learn to, or give up their battle against the good in the world because they were no match for your authentic self.
4) You sometimes underestimate the power of your authenticity. I have experienced a few INFP’s that become avoidant in some social situations. My interpretation of that moment is you saying “well this person isn’t ok with who I am so I’m going to go.” I have a possibly silly story to explain what this withdrawal robs from the world around you. In the early years of studying MBTI, I loved watching the reality show Big Brother. Every year there would be an INFP and every year that INFP would have no chance of winning. I believed the competition to be rigged against you. In the 24th season, a pageant queen by the name of Taylor Hale came on. I remain extremely confident in my diagnosis that she is INFP. Despite her sweet and authentic nature, she was bullied. Due to a technicality, she avoided getting voted out in the early weeks. She cried alone. She almost quit. Then she stayed true to herself. Past winners won by lying, manipulating, sabotaging. She did none of that. She just continued to he her. Over the following weeks, the game adapted around her. She became the centerpiece of the entire show. She was the only person that wasn’t caught in a lie or shown to be fake. On finale night, she won by a landslide 8-1. It was to my delight and surprise. I don’t learn life lessons from reality shows often but I did this time. She didn’t win because she continued to be her. She won because she made sure to be seen being herself no matter what people did to try and pressure her to hide or feel shame for playing the game differently. She continued to be her in front of everyone. INFP’s refuse to be anyone but themselves. It’s just where they do it and in front of whom that changes.
Much of this sits in my head. It’s nice to get it out, recorded, and sent out to those I wish to feel seen. Many people know you to be imaginative, empathetic and very introverted. Nevermind the potential accuracy, I don’t like shallowness of the stereotypes. I like the version of you I’ve experienced. Your authentic self is a stilt for the world to admire. I appreciate you for being you.

Hi there! I’m working on my first bookbinding project and following DAS Bookbinding’s tutorial on Steifbroschuren (Stiffened Board Binding). I don’t have bookcloth available—would it be a bad idea to use paper for the spine instead? I have a 180g black paper I’m considering.
I know I could either buy bookcloth online or stiffen some fabric to make my own, but for now, I’m just curious if the paper I have would work. Are there potential issues I should be aware of, like the covers not holding together properly, or breaking after some time of use?

My contract currently sits under one of the owners for our area - under his individual business name. I have been offered a contract with 2 other advisers under the same franchise/area with a new job title, new location (still under the original business/area) but the contract includes a 90 day probation clause even though I have been training part time for the past 5 or so months, effectively doing 2 roles, can they do this it’s definitely not in good faith

Hey, so in my Manufacturing class, there’s this one girl that I catch looking at me quite frequently. My perception of emotions (including my own) and social cues are quite honestly shit. I don’t know if she does like me or smth, or if she’s making fun of me silently. Recently I also feel I little chill in my cheeks when I see her, and I do t know if that means I like her or smth. To be honest, I’ve had a lot of trouble with “fake crushes” where my brain forces me to aha e a crush on someone I don’t like romantically just because it thinks it has to. Because of this I usually just stay away/ignore romance stuff, so I have absolutely no knowledge on any of this. I’m an autistic dude in high school, just in case that helps somehow.

Since fans were upset with seeing Vader as little votive devised an alternative version of the prequels that might please the fans instead.
Episode one: same premise as we have now, however anakin is 15 and under the tutelage of Obi-Wan. Qui- Gon doesn't exist. There is no Chosen one Prophecy or mention of midaclorians. Palpatine still ends up as chancellor. Maul is defeated but still alive.
Episode Two: Anakin is now 25 and about to enter his Jedi Trials. Padmes' assassination puts a damper on that and is assigned to protect her as her bodyguard. Obi-Wan searches for the assassin and discovers the cloning facilities on Kamino. The Council is outright disturbed by this discovery and promps an investigation Into the Kaminoians. While attempting to return to the temple Obi-Wan is kidnapped by Maul and tortured. anakin sensing his mastering pain decides to go rescue him and padme comes along. After finding Kenobi on Geonosis and rescuing him a fiery duel breaks out between Anakin and Obi-Wan vs Maul ending with Mauls death at anakins hand. The Council conclude their investigation into the Kaminoians and send their report to the senate However it come too late as scores of Clones fall upon inhabited systems and the Clone Wars begins. Anakin is knighted and is given the title of General.
Episode three: its been 3 years since the clone wars began and the republic is crumbling after defeat many times. Anakin and Obi-Wan are heros and known throughout the galaxy. however the war has changed Anakin and made him slightly cold and often argues with the Council and their decisions made by them. Palpatine has been Friens with Anakin for a long time now and starts to make suggestions to Anakin about the power the Council has. Using Anakins doubts he slowly brings him to the Dark Side and reveals himself as Darth Sidious. Tired of how the Council has been interfering with the senate Anakin pledges himself as Palpatines apprentice and is named Darth Vader. It's revealed that Palpatine ordered the clone army in order to weaken the republic and the jedi. Once this new information comes to light the Council moves to try and take over the senate, thereby giving Palpatine the opportunity he needs to brand the jedi as traitors and orders their execution. He sends his new Apprentice Darth Vader to oversee this operation. Padme afraid for her life flees into hiding with a full term pregnancy. Meanwhile Obi-Wan becomes aware of Anakins Treachery and confronts him on Mustafar. The two duel violently while arguing about how the jedi are traitors while Obi-Wan retorts how Palpatine is an Ancient enemy of the jedi and needs to be killed for the sake of the galaxy. Anakin ends up falling into a volcano and is horribly burned. Obi-Wan goes into hiding and discovers Padme with the Twins. Vader is reconstructed and put Into the suit. Obi-Wan goes Into hiding on tattooine with Luke and Leia is sent to live with The Organa family on Alderaan.

I was wondering if it makes sense to ask for forgiveness if i know i’ll commit the same sin again. Sometimes I fall into sin and when I go to ask God for forgiveness I have this thought in the back of my mind saying, “what’s the point when you know you’ll just do it again” More often than not that usually turns out to be true and I do the same sin again. Because of that now I feel like when I ask for forgiveness it’s insincere and I don’t actually mean it. What can I do about this ? I feel like God is not forgiving me because of that thought in the back of my mind making me feel like i’m not genuinely asking for forgiveness

I want to try to build a pair of off-road pods and want to see if my plan, math, etc. makes sense to you guys and if there is any better opinions out there. The housing is going to be a cheap “amazon special” 3”x4” pod that doesn’t work anymore. The COBs are going to be (x4) Cree XLamp XHP35’s in the 3-up configuration. These COBs have a max current of 1050mA and fV of 11.3. I found a Holdwell DC-DC booster that bumps my 12v to 36v at 5A. If I ran 4 parallel circuits off of the driver to each of the COBs, then a 1ohm 2 watt resistor, then to ground would the resistors take up the extra amperage I don’t want? I’m also going to attempt to run an independent water cooled heat sink system for the heat but that’s a whole other thing. Does this setup sound possible or even close to correct? Is there a better combination of components? Would running something like a constant current driver in parallel to the COBs be better than a resistor? What’s the best thermal epoxy to glue all of this stuff together? Thank you for your input.
