2024.11.26 00:40 auq78 Warp to Light Speed teleport: long and bumpy road
First I have to say that the only reason I'm bothering to write this is my deep admiration of US Mobile and hope that they'll read and improve. All this is about a feature which other providers aren't even dreaming of.
Couple months ago I had a disastrous experience trying and failing to teleport to Dark Star -.https://www.reddit.com/USMobile/comments/1ewlck5/comment/lj59lnc/
Today I decided to try teleporting to Warp as I'll be traveling to Puerto Rico and they have no Verizon towers there. I went to the app which attempted to charge me $2 despite me never teleporting, let alone twice this month. So I messaged a rep who offered to do it for me without charge. Timeline is rough.
Initial teleport: an hour of troubleshooting texts
- 10:00 am: The rep initiated teleport
- 10:10: am: My Warp service stopped working (as expected). Soon after I got a new eSim which I installed. I saw US Mobile 5G with 5 bars right away. Rep advised I test the service. Voice and data worked fine, texts did not. Which launched 30 mins of troubleshooting.
- 10:40?: texts finally started to work - but I only could get get them from actual phones, not from services like bank OTP. I happen to have Twilio developer account and tried to send myself a few texts, and it got rejected. The rep couldn't send me any texts either. But phone-to-phone texts, incl. Google Voice texts worked fine.
- I was asked to reset network settings which I refused to do. I didn't want to lose my all wifi passwords, and there was no reason for this. I had dozens of sims and esims and never needed to reset network settings to make them work. I was also asked and refused to delete all existing eSims. Rep backed down relatively easily and continued troubleshooting.
- I was asked to verify APN settings which I found to be correct/no changes needed
- Rep told me they have issue on US Mobile side.
- 11:05? finally all texts started to work (without me doing anything else).
I had a few phone calls, browsed web a little, sent a few texts and everything was working fine.
Data is suddenly gone
- 1 pm: Data was gone. Airplane mode toggle, reboot - nothing helped. I opened a chat with rep.
- I was asked to send all kinds of info, screenshots, etc. Rep appeared completely lost. He ignored what I said, asked for my address to verify if I had T-mobile coverage in my area. Eventually I dropped and reconnected to another rep. It happened to be the same as one who teleported me in the morning!
- Troubleshooting continued seemingly endlessly. Nothing helped.
- 2p: rep got very nosy about my other eSims (which are all disabled - I sent screenshot already). He asked where and when I use them, are they active, etc. I politely explained that my other service providers are none of US Mobile business. His job is to ensure that US Mobile service works, and not to worry about my other providers.
- The pressure increased for me to reset network settings and to delete all other eSims. I made sure it's very clear I disagreed and that both were nonsensical unnecessary steps which won't solve the problem but cause me inconvenience (lost passwords) and monetary loss (prepaid international eSims). And then I did it - I deleted all other sims and reset network settings. Of course it didn't help. I said "didn't I say so".
- 3p? rep started going away for longer and longer with "i'm working on this" messages. Couple times he was gone/not responding for 15+ mins, while I kept asking "are you still with me" to no avail, eventually response was "Are you still with me"? Are you kidding me?
- Another rep joined the chat. They both were clearly at loss and had no idea what else to try.
- While poking around I noticed that clicking on my line brought me to "select plan" screen. EUREKA!
- 3:30? I tell the reps: I think I know what's the issue. My new line has no data plan. Rep replies: "that's an interesting idea"! A minute later I got email for some order of $0 and boom - my data works again!
- My joy of getting data got tainted by realization that was getting under 1 mb/s download speed (4 bars of 5g). To make sure it was not a coverage issue, I bought 1 gb eSim from eZsim which uses t-mobile. 5 m/bps on the same t-mobile network!
- I reached out to a rep again. I told about the problem. Rep says "Let me fix this". Does something. I toggle airplane mode on/off and... 90 mb/s download. I guess I had to ask the initial rep that I wanted the full speed rather than 90x slower speed?
I won't be teleporting my other 3 lines for the trip to Puerto Rico. I can't go through this 3 more times, and then probably again when teleporting back to Warp. I'll just pay for eSim when there. I know most people have better experience than this - but there is no way of knowing if you'll be lucky one or not.

So my 2021 Jetta GLI S has 80k miles on it. I’ve had a few minor issues between 2k-40k miles. Right before my warranty ran up at 50k I had an engine light. They preformed a repair that was still covered. There was a valve stem seal issue. The car had idled a little rough before and after they fixed it so I assumed it’s just a loud engine and the ticking was normal. Last couple weeks it got worse and started stuttering and stalling. When I took it to the dealership for diagnostics they had to tear the whole engine apart to find the problem (no check engine lights, no codes or faults). Now I have a bad exhaust cam and apparently my cylinder head is damaged and needs replaced. The tech that spoke to me mentioned possible problems with valve stem seals being bad. The engines timing issue makes sense to me with the bad cam. But I don’t understand how my 4 year old car needs its engine torn apart once again to find all this damage. I guess I just don’t know whether to believe this cylinder head damage is related to the previous repair or not. I don’t drive aggressively and I’d say 90% of those 80k miles are all highway. Should I be trying to fight them about the cause of the damage being linked to this previous repair or not? At this point I’m out of warranty and estimated $4000-$6000 for these repairs

So there is this guy I (F) like at work... I know, romance in the workplace is not a good idea, I think so too, but... I don't connect with people easily and with this guy, it was!
We live in different countries, work for the same department, we have interacted by remote meetings and chat and I found we have similar interests and viewpoints about different topics. He has complimented me a few times because I learn coding languages as a hobby.
He knows a coding language I want to learn and I know a coding language he wants to learn. So one day I sent a message to him to ask when he wanted me to explain that coding language... and guess what? He never replied, he saw it but didn't reply at all. (this was around a week ago)
Now I'm in panic... Was I too straightforward? Or is he just not interested? Or maybe interested but don't want to risk it?
Those questions in my head have me thinking... What do you do when you like a male/female coworker? What pros and cons do you consider before making a move?

They said they would have a feature by today to download select content and keep some favorite recipes, but it's not been made available yet. I want to keep all 365 recipes I have on Yummly, not just select favorites. Any ideas how to quickly transfer them all to another app without having to go one by one?

Hi everyone!
I’ve been going around with a business idea where I live which is a small town in Denmark with around 180k population. The idea is opening a content studio. I’m not a photographer myself, but my education has given me a bit of experience in a lot of creative areas like graphic design, branding, social media, and photography!
My vision:
The studio would be a versatile, inspiring space for photographers, creators, influencers and business owners. I’ve found a beautiful space with high ceiling, brick wall and big windows. It has three room. I thought I’d have multiple furniture setups available for rent (like industrial, scandi,…etc) and the other room with paper backdrops and some lights. I want it to be easy for anyone, from professionals to hobbyists, to come in and create content without needing to worry about too much setup.
The focus would be on creating a space that’s functional, aesthetically pleasing, and adaptable to different styles.
I have already sent out a survey, I got a positive feedback but not a lot! I did competitor research, where I found professional photographey studios but pro equipments but not like the one in mind!
What I’d love your input on:
It would be a new concept here, so it can go well or really bad? What do you think? The reason I mention about the city is because sooo many businesses go bad here for some reason.
Features: What would you expect from a studio like this? Things like lighting options, backdrops, or extra equipment?
Marketing: If you were opening a content studio, how would you get the word out to attract the right audience?
Experience: If you’ve ever rented or worked in a content studio, what stood out to you good or bad?
This is my first time stepping into something like this, so I’d love any advice or insights! My goal is to create a space that supports creativity in all forms and is easy to use for anyone with a vision.

not even a week after the breakup is actually crazy. considering he talked soo much shit ab her. he literally beggeddd for me to take him back, and for what? to ruin me twice as bad as you did the first time? it’s genuinely so sickening. i don’t understand how some people can be like this towards people who had nothing but love for them. i stayed with him through so much, i put up with so much disrespect and i still stayed. i had a feeling he had been talking to her when we first went on a break and i was definitely right. i really hope karma bites him in the ass because you can’t treat someone like this and expect absolutely no fucking consequences.

Looking at a new JCB 215T or used Kubota 95-2s. Both track loaders.
We have two businesses and it’d be shared between my dad’s dairy farm and my business. We get along great and have shared other equipment successfully.
We’d be using it for dirt work, manure, forestry, snow clearing, and mowing. I’m going to say it’s going to be used very hard. Not recklessly but hard.
Pops is getting old and really likes the idea of the side door on the JCB. I’m not too sure of the single armed boom though. Not sure if it will handle the abuse. Really like the safety aspect of it though as he really doesn’t have much business climbing over attachments with muddy boots.
My compromise is the Kubota with the flip up door and extra HP.
Anyone have experience with JCB? Slightly worried 75hp won’t be enough with the JCB. Id probably have a shop delete the emissions and tune it up but don’t really know what that entails since I’m not a mechanic. We own lots of tractors (85-250hp) and have plenty of equipment experience just have never owned skid steers. We have used them plenty just never owned one.

I just installed the full version after running the portable version for a long time. I imported the config file, but it doesn't appear to have everything needed to make the installed version run the same as the portable.
Any docs or tips on what else I need to do so that I get the same experience as I currently have with the portable? Or do I have to go through and manually set things up to match?
But after importing the config file the installed version instead of the 4 fan controls I had setup with names, it just shows 9 fans without names all switched off and not paired with sensors. I was expecting it to just import all this?
