Morning all.
I was commuting to work the other day. 630am on a long country B road. It's a 60mph road with no street lights and no pavement.
On the other side of the road, a vehicle has been haphazardly parked. For all intents and purposes it's basically been abandoned. No hazard lights or anything. Absolutely no reason to park a car there since the only things surrounding the road are fields
A van travelling on the other side of the road doesn't see this vehicle, because it's a black car with no hazard lights on and it's dark, and has to swerve into my lane to try and avoid it and we basically have a head on collision. Both cars are history.
The guy who beached his car on the side eventually makes an appearance. We confronted him and asked why he's parked there and why hasn't he put his hazards on or a triangle out and he just shrugs and says "there's no rules against parking here". Clearly couldn't give less of a shit about the mess before him, and simply drives away.
We told the police the story when they turned up, but I don't think they're pursuing him for anything. Surely the universe can't be such that he actually gets away with writing off two cars as a result of his negligence? Is there anything I can do to action something against him? I don't even want know what I want to happen. Just... something in the wake of all this shit.

Hi all, I had my gallbladder removed in march 2024 of this year after almost a year of chronic attacks, I was full of stones. Couldn’t eat anything without lying on the bathroom floor for hours violently spewing and unable to breathe / walk. Hospitalised multiple times and then they finally took it out.
Since then, I’ve suffered relentlessly also. I have severe IBS symptoms that come on so suddenly whenever I eat that it’s so unpredictable and I have to run to the toilet the pain unbearable. I feel nauseous and have been sick a few times. In the last 6 weeks I’ve developed a new pain which is in the same area upper right quadrant exactly where my gallbladder was it’s a full burning ache lasts for days pain relief doesn’t help.
It’s really all getting me down in life and I feel I don’t know if I’m better off now or than before. I’m 27 relatively healthy in any other forms and I just want to be a mum to my toddlers. I’m so tired all the time
Has anyone else felt like this? My doctors don’t care “just take pain killers”

I have to give credit where it’s due. Mordhau is wonderfully optimized. I can hit 240 fps on ultra settings in duel yards and 180 in a 48 man invasion. Running a i9 12900k cpu and 3070 gpu with a 240hz monitor. It feels nice to play a game that can hit my monitor’s cap. If only other devs can optimize their game this good.

I'm really upset at myself atm and really wish I could turn time back. I'm currently recovering from a side effect due to a non serious medical procedure and this situation has been a nightmare dealing with.
I regret going through the procedure, which involved cryotherapy to treat a dark spot on my skin. It seems to have triggered nerve irritation and muscle spasms. I’ve consulted a few doctors, and they all agree that it will take time for my nerves and muscles to heal. While I’m working with my therapist once a week, it doesn’t feel like enough.
Every day I go back and forth from being positive to negative about this situation. I need to reassure myself, maybe like a mantra or really reason with my self as this procedure in a way was the right thing to do.

Obviously everyone is going to have takes firing into the subreddit shortly, so I just wanted to get the main public sentiment out to help with understanding. And yes, I agree with the people here, it is weird that Lud didn’t ask Kai why he’s being so distant with alexsmokesmid. Times are as divisive as ever, and it’s hard not to see the opportunity Lud had here to re-mend some bridges in the Twitch space. I understand he’s distancing himself from drama at the moment, but it just felt like a rift he could have helped close. Hope there’s still time to fix all of this

Hello! I am curious about how much you can use brain autopsies/scans done after death to compare it to someone's brain when alive? I see this done a lot, especially with things like Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy, where they look at their brain after death and say this is what it looked like when he was alive. Don't brain cells die rapidly after death and any scans done may not be a true reflection of how their brain looked like when alive? How much does the structure of the brain change in between death and when it is finally preserved and scanned? I know this varies on a case-by-case basis but any advice is appreciated. Thank you!
