2024.11.26 11:30 johnsloveski [s2 spoilers] could someone PLEASE fully explain what went on with Viktor and the ending?
Whilst I know Arcane, specifically season 2, has some issues, I still really like how they continued on from season 1 and understand what they were going for with the ending. But my lack of understanding and confusion surrounding the ending is kind of preventing me from seeing the season in a positive light.
I don't understand how or why the rune/time stuff happened in the ending. Here's my thought process:
So, in another universe (or every universe except ours), Viktor achieves his plan of glorious evolution (without giving himself fully to the arcane - he's still in his herald form. Likely something to do with his timeline's Jayce? Unless it's representative of his regret, and he DID fully evolve when his plan came to fruition).
He regrets what he's done, and uses the arcane to travel through time and space and gives young Jayce different runes in different universes in the hope that, somehow, he can stop himself from achieving glorious evolution in those universes.
Is this not a glaring plot hole in every way? I have too many thoughts and questions to properly articulate them all:
If alternate Viktor was the one who saved Jayce, how was Jayce alive in his timeline (our Jayce took the hammer from him)?
Why doesn't our Viktor use whatever power alternate Viktor used to time travel to achieve his plan? It's not like he wouldn't know he can do it, he more or less IS the arcane by that point.
I'm assuming alternate Jayce and Viktor still founded Hextech, just a different way?
Did EVERY universe except ours experience glorious evolution? Ekko and Heimerdinger's universe didn't - potentially as a result of the rune that their Jayce received from alternate Viktor, maybe that was what killed Vi, got him locked up, and got Hextech squashed? If EVERY universe was evolved, then alternate Viktor visited them all and saved Jayce in them all? In an INFINITE amount of universes? Even though he couldn't have saved Jayce in his own universe? If every universe was NOT evolved, then why didn't alternate Viktor take inspiration from those instead of doing trial and error with the runes?
Maybe there is only one universe, alternate Viktor's, and every time he gave a rune to Jayce it created a branching timeline? Still, how was Hextech created/how did Jayce survive/how didn't Viktor succumb to his illness in the 'original' (alternate Viktor's) timeline?
In what world is giving Jayce a rune the only way to stop the evolution? What made alternate Viktor come to this conclusion, when he could've done ANYTHING ELSE (for example: gone to Viktor, beamed everything that would happen into his head, showed him that he shouldn't do what he's going to do. or, save Jayce (doubt he'd want to let his best friend die) without revealing himself to him or giving him a rune in the first place)? This is probably my biggest issue - he couldn't have made it more complicated if he tried. I know he said that Jayce had to convince him, but I'm confident that psychically beaming what actually convinced alternate Viktor into our Viktor's head would've worked even better, without all the downsides of Hextech's existence (~everything, see ep7). I saw a post that put it like this, don't remember what it was I just saved this: "It seems strange that the ONLY way to stop him from evolving everything is to give Jayce the correct rune so a kid can invert it in a different universe so an anomaly caused by the inversion being overcharged can give Jayce a chance to get through to Viktor as well as mess with/multiply against the original rune activated in the astral plane to nullify whatever damage was going to be caused by the aforementioned anomaly (my interpretation) before both Jayce and Viktor blip away (potentially as a result of the inherent space-time powers of the acceleration rune)?"
I've also seen stuff on a time loop - how? Who, what, when, where, why? If alternate Viktor gave our Jayce the rune, it's not like our Viktor needs to give our Jayce the rune, since it was external interference.
PLEASE someone explain this to me. I seriously don't understand it, and am currently very disappointed.

Ok, I have written sime fantasy novellas before. Trying to write a novel... Had some fantasy in draft before.but never got to it.
For this novel, i had the plan for a long time. Basically about zombie apocalypse... Have diea for 3 book series.
Most stuff is sorted out. Only in the first book, stuff is like
High school students have to survive. First two chapter will deal with breakout(it's pre apocalyptic) I have thought of way of making it extra dark. At 3rd chapter when peoole will be sleeping in the school a character will come...

I've just received an email notification informing me that the location for my jury service has changed due to building works on the previous location.
Not an issue of itself apart from the fact the new location is over an hour away from my house. I've already moved the date of jury service as my original dates were during a pre booked holiday. Is there any way I can get out of this?

I started journaling as a way to preserve the fleeting moments and emotions that often fade with time. There are so many experiences that can be lost, and I wanted a way to hold onto them. Through journaling, Iâve been able to reflect on my journey and track my personal growth over time.
Beyond capturing daily events, journaling has become an important tool for self-reflection. Writing about my life helps me process emotions and thoughts that I may not have fully recognized in the moment. It allows me to gain insight into my feelings and make sense of my experiences.
My journaling practice is quite simple and unstructuredâI write freely about my thoughts, daily happenings, or anything that stands out to me. Recently, Iâve incorporated a practice of noting things Iâm grateful for. Writing down small wins or positive moments has proven to be a powerful way to shift my mindset and focus more on the good in life.

I'm sorry I have to ask this but the last post i found about this topic is already 3+ years old.
I own both PC and PS5 and am pondering about what VR Headset to buy. I saw that since this year there's a PC Adapter for the PSVR2. Is that reason enough to prefer the PSVR2 > the Quest 3? My criteria for a VR Headset are as follows:
1.) Comfort: I want to be playing for hours at a time, so comfort is important. (I don't wear glasses, have a rather large head
2.) Battery life: I already read about that battery life is a problem on VR Headsets. I saw there's the elite strap for Quest 3 with an included battery pack (don't know if there's one for PSVR2 or if it's even necessary) but the only way to get my hands on one of these is via amazon, which usually doesn't ship to my country (switzerland). So, in regard to longer playing sessions, which one is better in terms of battery life and is easier / faster to charge (maybe even chargeable while playing / extra battery packs to swap out)
3.) VR Experience: I recognize the fact that VR games usually aren't that 4K resolution HQ titles, but I don't want to buy a VR Headset just to see that quality-wise the screen's ass. + which controller is preferable to use for gaming (i believe the quest 3 has that feature where "every finger could be triggered", idk how to phrase that differently lol
4.) Additional Accessories: Which of the two Headsets NEEDS additional accessories and what accessorie would that be? Which of these accessories is just nice to have but not a must-have and which one is not necessary at all?
Feel free to give me more points to watch out for and I apologize again for that, probably, repeated question.
