I was looking for a classic watch to buy on this black Friday. But I came to 100€+ price level for my taste. Some of them have big edges and chronometers which I think they look ugly. Then the idea sparked why I wouldn't go for a smartwatch.
I am not a big fan of smartwatches. WearOS charging cycle is not my taste and I am not into sports enough to buy a Garmin.
Too keep short: I am looking for a smartwatch wide support of watchfaces including classic looks, circle design, not plastic and black, wide support of bracelets and easy to change.
Sports: I walk and hike so build in GPS is good but not my top priority.
I think Huawei GT4 checks all the boxes. But I couldn't sure about bracelets.
Generally I dress casual but you know couple of times you need to more official in a year.
So I need suggestions

2024.11.26 11:39 OkParticular5809 Is a minor in computer science (BSc) worth it?
Heya! I'm starting my undergrad next year, and I'm planning to do Biochem/MolBio as my primary major.
I initially planned to do compsci as a minor, and if i was really interested in it, I would finish 12 more credit points in my last year to complete it as a major. The reason I wanted to choose compsci was because I'm pretty much interested in computer science in general. On top of that, I'm considering studying computational biology down the line.
The thing is, I've seen some posts on here + on usyd rants say that the courses, especially in the second year (COMP2017 to be specific) get difficult in terms workload and assignments. A lot of the information that I've seen however is slightly old (like around 3 to 4 years ago), so what's the consensus on compsci nowadays? And any general advice?

Some further context regarding my background in compsci for anyone who needs it:
- I'm pretty confident with some python fundamentals but I've never really taken on any personal projects of any kind.
- I sorta know about OOP and how it works. I've never actually written anything implementing OOP yet, but I can recognize basic classes and objects.
- I've learnt the basics of using the unix shell a while back (I'll probably need to brush up on this though)
- I used to be really fascinated by computer architecture and I've watched a lot of stuff explaining the basics of transistors, logic gates and memory, but I've never gotten into the details, but maybe what I know might help with understanding the second year course content? (stuff like memory allocation)

I could only take one exam this time due to external factors and I chose to resit Criminal because it was the worst of the 3 I failed back in 2023 when I sat my first set of exams. I got 22% in it the first time round and now I am after getting 42%. It feels like a complete gut punch at the minute. I feel like I will never pass any of these exams right now. In my eyes, I did bring the mark up by a good bit but I am just feeling a little bit lost now and I just don't know what to do considering I was planning on sitting 3 in March. It is just a bit of a disheartening experience.
I also am trying to request the script but it is not letting me submit the form, it keeps just saying that there is an error. I don't know if that is because there could be a lot of people trying to request scripts at the same time?

I recently bought a psvr2 but I regret it and it was highly defekt. Now they have answered via email that they will accept the refund if I pay the 80$! That horizon cotm cost. Should I have to pay them for a game that I redeemed before I knew they gave me a defekt vr, im not even gonna be able to play the game. We’re currently weighing up 3 different scenarios, and would love everyone’s experience/insight to help us make a more informed decision.
HOUSEHOLD CONTEXT: Approx $350,000 in cash savings. Approx $29,000 in car loans. No other loans. Single income (approx $250,000/year) as we just made the decision for wife to extend maternity leave for another year.
INVESTMENT SCENARIO #1: Buy a family home. Purchase a home to live in for the next 5+ years. Gradually renovate and enhance the property (e.g., add a granny flat). In 5+ years, either sell or use the equity to purchase additional properties.
INVESTMENT SCENARIO #2: Business & ETFs. Buy two interstate investment properties (i.e. Brisbane and Melbourne). Allocate funds toward ETFs. Act as a silent investor in a friend’s cafe, who currently runs a profitable cafe in Sydney and is looking for funding to open a second location. Continue renting in Sydney.
INVESTMENT SCENARIO #3: Develop and sell. Purchase a property in Sydney with the goal of building and selling duplexes (in partnership with a friend). Continue renting in Sydney during this process.

2024.11.26 11:39 Wavytriangle When dating someone, how long are you willing to wait until the relationship becomes official?
Just looking for people's opinions on whether I am wasting my time. So I (28F) have been dating a guy (29M) for roughly 3 months now. We became exclusive pretty early on as we both agreed the idea of pursuing other people while being intimate with each other wasn't right. For context we speak every day, hang out multiple times a week, go on dates and just do everyday things together like a couple would. I have been hoping that he would make it official around the 3 month mark as I naturally do move pretty fast in relationships but have also been patient as I know not everyone goes at the same pace. Anyway I brought up the subject to him today and he said he's still not ready for that commitment just yet. His reasoning was that I have displayed some red flags which in my opinion weren't major by any means but he also got brutally cheated on by his ex so I think he is very concerned about getting his feelings hurt again. He said that it isn't a reflection of his feelings toward me but mentioned that it's a lot to consider because I will potentially be the mother of his children one day and he doesn't want to make and impulsive decision. He couldn't give me a specific time frame on when he thinks he will be ready to make that choice, so I suggested that instead we can basically decide on a date and if by the time we come to that he's still not sure then we can part ways, he suggested 1-2 more months. I do really like this guy and can take full responsibility that I have displayed some behaviours that have led him to be skeptical due to his past. But I just really want to know other people's opinions on whether his reasoning sounds valid or if I should just cut my losses.
