Hello, I’m 20 (female) and have been with my 20 (male) boyfriend for almost six months. For context, we met about nine months ago while I was in another relationship that was very toxic and clearly ending. My now-boyfriend always checked in on me and made sure I was okay. We caught feelings for each other, and almost immediately, not even two months later, we started dating. It was very nice in the beginning; we had some mutual friends and hung out every chance we got. We were together all summer long, except for when we went away on family trips, but we talked and FaceTimed every minute.
Fast forward to October: I started a new job, which takes up some of my time, but I saw my boyfriend every other day. Nothing really changed other than my attitude. I would come home from work late and FaceTime him, and I would be exhausted. He would get kind of sad, but we talked and were fine. Last week, unless I was with him in person, I would get so mad and frustrated over everything. I think my feelings have changed, but I can’t tell, and I don’t want to hurt him. Other than when he’s upset, he’s the sweetest, gentlest, and most genuine person I’ve ever met. I probably will never find someone who treats me so well, but I don’t like that he’s too sweet, too perfect, and too nice. He acts tough when he’s with his friends or when we hang out in a group, which I love, but when we’re alone, he talks like a baby and is too nice, making me feel like I’m not real. I’ve had thoughts about being single again and that I kind of miss it, and he got extremely angry. I don’t know what to do to make myself happy.
