Hello, probably not the first person to ask but struggling to find the answer. Recently got a quest 3 and have been trying out oculus link and steam link via USB.
I launched cod in steam link and it crashed out so had to play multiplayer game in oculus link which was quite delayed - was expecting quicker as people have claimed you can replace your monitors etc
Possibly it will be better in steam link if it doesn't crash but have heard loads of good things about the paid VD app on meta store. It seems like it only does wireless connection which Id love to do but no plans to buy a wifi 6 gaming router or install a cat 6 cable to my PC (a man can dream).
It would be great if I could use the preferred VD app via USB - can anyone confirm or offer best alternative solution? Thanks 🙏

2024.11.27 14:20 JosephCY Help me decide i5-12400 or i5-13500 as an upgrade?
Hey self hosters, i currently running unraid on an old pc with i5-8400, h310 mobo, 16gb ram, with 3 refurbished iron wolf pro 4tb.
I run the usual arr apps and plex, but mostly stream to only 1~2 device max, also an immich server for photo backup, and frigate for surveillance footage recording.
Most of the time the cpu usage are less than ~10%, there's some >90% system memory alert from netdata from time to time, mainly cause by frigate schedule stuff, but that's it.
Now why I am thinking about upgrade because I have plenty of free times to explore more apps to be self hosted, especially I'm planning to degoogle as much as possible with self hosted apps.
Another thing is I may want to host some game server like Minecraft from time to time, I usually rotate between game like Minecraft/ARK/Palworld and invite my friends to play with me, so it would be great if i can host it within a vm in unraid.
But ultimately I also like to "save cost", both on equipment and electricity, it's not really an issue with affordability, but it's a fun challenges to make something work with low cost, (that's probably why I'm also a min/max player in many game, trying to get the best cost value)
The first upgrade route: ($250) - i5-12400 (oem from aliexpress) ~ $100 - 32GB 16x2 DDR4 3200Mhz RAM (used) ~ $40 - MSI B660M Mortar with 6 Sata port ~ $110
The second upgrade route: ($370) - i5-13500 (oem) ~ $180 - 64GB DDR4 RAM ~ $80 - MSI B660M Mortar with 6 Sata port ~ $110
(I'm also concerned about the 13th/14th gen issue and potential harm on my hdd/ssd, but they reddit says 13500 is just refreshed 12th gen and no people report issues on this cpu, yet?)
Alternative motherboard option: - CWWK Q670 $153 (8 sata, dual nic +vpro, BUT ddr5 ram cost double, only 2 ram) - Some random china brand cloud star Z690 $110 (8 sata, 4x intel nic, ddr4, 4x m.2)
Main concern is these motherboard may have compatibility issue, less update, and I most likely won't be able to ship back.

I still need some opinions on some points.
It's going to be about Annabeth becoming a selective mute after the death of Thalia. And then she meets the adhd man himself Percy, who talks endlessly to her. And she slowly starts talking again, and falling in love.
I'm debating on a couple things.
Should it be a mortal AU or following the PJO story but in Annabeths POV and changing stuff? And if it is a mortal AU, should Luke be evil or not?
Should Annabeth have been talkative or quiet before the death of Thalia?

One, it's Mr. Can Do, which makes me wonder is their Christian name Trashcan Do? It some variation of that. 2024.11.27 14:20 98Em Issues with accessing GP service/advice needed
Hi.
My GP tell me that in order to get an appointment I need to ring at 8am on the same day and that it's same day appointments only.
I'm not good with planning so always forget this, that and I have several chronic health conditions which cause sleeping difficulties (going to and waking up).
I either keep trying and end up waking up too late on the days I'm free (their method usually means I can't do anything else on the day because they can't tell me when they'll call, or if I need to go in it's at a random unspecified time.
I know some people wish this was an option so they don't have to wait 3 weeks but I find it so anxiety inducing/I can rarely get a needed appointment because of this system.
I've asked before if there's anything they can do to help with this but they've suggested e consult which asks vague/ambiguous questions that I misinterpret and it keeps saying we can't assess you safely, you need to ring 111 for a minor problem/something that isn't absolutely urgent.
Any advice on what to do? I like this gp so don't want to have to move but I might have to since it's causing me to not get help for debilitating symptoms or not having everything I need on my medical records in terms of severity or evidence for my experiences.
