 | So we’ve had this $10 portafilter for maybe 2 years now and have noticed lately that the gasket on our Delonghi Dedica kept popping out so we bought a new one and it still kept popping. Took us too long to even look closely at the portafilter after noticing that it looked a bit crooked when mounted on the grouphead. Then discovered this crazy bend on one of the ears. I have three reasons: 1, you don't have to worry about wasting bullets because it one shots everyone. 2, If you've been compromised you might as well let the map know it, and 3. If i want to rage tf out before i alt f4, I want to go out with a bang by shooting the shit out of every npc in my path. The only other good use for bringing an smg is for door openings, and you can just use the pause glitch with a pistol.

2024.11.27 16:49 Human-Persimmon-3511 How to deal with the unique workplace dynamics of working at a large hospital and being part of the float pool?
I just got off 3 shifts in a row and the past two were quite something. Yesterday, 45 minutes into my shift after getting report and trying to get settled we were informed that we were going to transfer all patients to other floors and we would be getting floated to different units. I had 4 patients. Passed and assessed what I could and transferred them. I gave report on my patients to other nurses and then went where I was told where I received a whole new set of patients. Then half an hour before shift change I got an admit. They had a resource nurse on the floor who had no patients and the charge never has patients, but no one helped me. I got everything done on time, gave report, and really had a good connection with the patients I cared for. Tonight's shift I got floated to one floor and stayed there so no craziness there, but I felt like I really went above and beyond for the patients I did have. And surprise surprise I got another admit 30 minutes before shift change. I almost had to laugh at how ridiculous it was that it would happen to me two days in a row when they try to avoid doing that to floor nurses almost always. Anyway, 2 of my patients tried to thank me profusely as I was handing them off and were singing my praises, but that was cut short by the incoming nurse who rushed us out. Totally fine I know she has things to do, but I just feel like I went above and beyond with the care I provided and got dealt some shitty hands, but did what I had to with a smile and no attitude. The only thing that bothered me was there was no 'thank you'. No acknowledgment from the charge nurse or anyone on the floor. I know that what matters is the connections we make with our patients and the care we provide for them and I really do feel proud of myself and content that I was able to still perform. I am still relatively new (6 months) and I started in the float pool so I think that adds to feeling like there's no positive recognition and the only things every highlighted or given any attention are mistakes. Like sorry I tried to get the doctor to put these orders in and got no reply and it's an eye roll from the day nurse or just trivial mistakes nothing major that make me feel incompetent. But then there's shifts like this where a good job or thank you would of gone a long way, but nothing. I am just wondering if it's something to just suck up. I know it's external validation, but nursing is a career and I don't think it's immature to want people to know that you're competent, willing to help/go above and beyond, and be a good sport. Since the hospital is so big there's always new faces, new charge nurses, the main bosses never seem to know you since you're in the float pool anyway. And our manager works monday-friday 8-5 so our shifts don't even overlap. It seems like the only time they will hear something about us will be because someone has a complaint. Sorry for the rant. I guess I am just looking for any advice or guidance on how to handle my feeling and whether anyone else can relate.
