2024.11.28 00:38 FieryResolve Travel during stims?
Writing this from a long car ride I am second guessing. On our way to the in-laws for Thanksgiving, 4 hours into a 6 hour drive (with traffic). Had a clinic appt this morning, the next one is Friday morning, so we will drive back tomorrow. Meds are in a cooler in the back of the car. I am kind of annoyed at myself for agreeing to put my body through this when I am feeling uncomfortable and fatigued already. This cycle has been promising so far but… could I have ruined it? Or is it fine & a few hours in a car won’t matter? I wish I could just be home right now.

Daytime at work 3 adults 3 children in room. Was sat next to one child other child sat with their key worker. Getting on with our normal tasks and I got a could touch bottom of my neck/shoulder. I thought I may have been one of the children. It startled me enough to ask where was 3rd child child as someone had touched me. But that child in the toy shop far away from me….. was I touched by someone because that’s what it felt like ? I came home looking up tactile hallucinations could it be this ??

 | I had one job, “Go get the pie” make it a fun event for my 5 year old son on fall break & my Dad. We hit the food court, manage to beat a huge rush, everything was perfect. Kinda cold, rainy, “Dad put the box of groceries on my lap so they don’t get wet” my dad, “I’ll load the pie in the back” it’s like 40°F (4.4°C) so ok, cold enough to be ok. Drive over 40 miles (63 kilometers) back home. So I was having a rough session today, I couldn't seem to get it together and it wasn't being very productive because of it. Eventually my therapist called me out on something. She wasn't mean about it, just very blunt, but in the moment I was so angry at her that I really just wanted to leave the session. I just knew that she was wrong.
But then later, after the session, I was writing about it in my journal and realized she was 100% right. On one hand, I really hate it, and I'm still a little in my feelings about getting called out, but then I'm grateful that she did because it helped me start thinking about the issue we were talking about in a different, and more productive way.
