2024.11.28 02:50 MrFoxLovesBoobafina The Beatles (Imaginary) Eras Tour

Beatles fans,
I've made something that I'm quite proud of and wanted to share it with you all. I created an imaginary "eras tour", as if the Beatles went on a final world tour together in - say - 1990 or so (of course, in my imagination, John Lennon did not die). I structured it as a "Double CD", so 80 minutes per CD (for those who remember that era). The first CD gets up to Abbey Road. The second CD starts with Let It Be, then contains selections from their solo works.
Below is the tracklist plus a legend showing where each recording is from. The most difficult was John, as he has a lot less in terms of solo recordings than Paul. So I squeezed in as much John as I could, but you definitely have to suspend disbelief at times, as the recording quality of John's live stuff tends to be a lot worse. I've also taken studio outtakes or demos and pretended they were live by adding reverb and audience noises.
Anyway, I think the results are pretty great and making/listening to this was a pretty emotional experience for me. I hope you enjoy it!

What is "Growth Design – Product Psychology Mastery"? Let’s kick this off: What even is "Growth Design – Product Psychology Mastery"? In short, it's a course that dives deep into the psychology behind product design. Whether you're a UX designer, product manager, or just curious about what makes users tick, this course promises to bridge the gap between psychology and design. You know that sweet spot where your users go, “Wow, that’s clever!”? This course teaches you how to design for those moments.
Who is This Course For? Here’s the deal: if you’re into creating products that people love (not just tolerate), this course is for you. It’s perfect for designers, marketers, product managers, or anyone involved in crafting user experiences. Whether you’re just starting or already have some skin in the game, the lessons are practical, actionable, and super versatile. Basically, if you want to understand your users on a deeper level, this course has your back.
Why Does It Matter? Ever feel like your product almost clicks with your users, but something’s missing? That’s where "Growth Design – Product Psychology Mastery" comes in. The course emphasizes the psychology behind user behavior, helping you connect with users at a deeper level. In a world where attention spans are shorter than ever, understanding motivation, empathy, and decision-making is critical. Nail this, and your product could go from “meh” to memorable.
When Should You Take It? Honestly? Like, yesterday. But if you can’t time travel, now is the next best time. The insights offered are relevant at any stage of product development. Whether you're brainstorming a new feature, tweaking an existing flow, or launching a full-blown redesign, these techniques will make a noticeable difference.
Where Can It Be Applied? Everywhere your users interact with your product! Think onboarding flows, purchase funnels, mobile apps, and even in physical products. The course doesn’t just throw random theories at you; it provides tools like the B.I.A.S. framework and actionable strategies for improving any touchpoint. You can immediately apply what you learn to real-world scenarios.
How Does It Work? The course is structured into four modules that build on each other. You start with understanding user behavior—essentially figuring out what makes them tick. From there, you’ll identify areas for improvement using smart frameworks and techniques. Module three is all about delight—creating moments users rave about. Finally, it wraps up with strategies for communicating your decisions to stakeholders, which is often the trickiest part of the job.
Final Thoughts "Growth Design – Product Psychology Mastery" is not your typical design course. It’s like a toolkit for anyone serious about creating meaningful experiences. It emphasizes ethics, clarity, and delight, which are often overlooked in traditional design practices. If you’re ready to level up your product game and truly understand your users, this course might just be your secret weapon. Give it a shot—your users (and your ROI) will thank you!

2024.11.28 02:50 Vast-Oven First time Andiot watch experience (full write up and timeline)

Images: https://imgur.com/a/wT52lpy
WARNING LONG POST- I’ve tried to break it into sections and TL;DR at the bottom for those in a rush!
I’ve seen a lot of questions posted here asking about Andiot so I thought I’d just write my thoughts and experiences with Andiot. I won’t touch on my thoughts on the watch since I have only had it in my hands for a few hours.
This is only my second rep, so I’m still pretty new to the hobby, but hopefully, this post will help others considering an Andiot purchase.
Timeline

• Order placed: 10th November • Payment confirmed: 10th November • QC received: 14th November • QC approved: 15th November • Shipped: 17th November • Tracking received: 18th November • Cleared Australian customs: 21st November • Delivered: 28th November
Pre-Purchase Communication
I handled all my initial communication through WhatsApp and finalized everything via email, as instructed.
The communication was excellent overall. I’ll admit I asked a lot of questions about various models and their ETAs before committing, and they were patient and quick to respond each time. The only minor hiccup was that on two occasions, one of my back-to-back questions went unanswered—but given how busy they probably are, I don’t see it as a big deal.
Payment and QC Process
For those unfamiliar with how Andiot works, here’s a quick overview: 1. Create an account on their website. 2. Add items to your cart and check out as usual. 3. After checkout, follow the payment instructions provided.
I used Revolut for payment, which was confirmed within 10–20 minutes. After I sent the payment confirmation, I received an email saying my order was processing within 30 minutes—impressive, considering this all happened on a Sunday night in Melbourne time.
I was told QC would take 1–2 days because the watch was supposedly in stock, but it ended up taking a bit longer. From what I gathered, the stock moved fast in the time it took me to create my account and check out. While slightly disappointing, I didn’t press the issue since I saw other QC photos of the same model shortly after, guess it sold in the 6 hours or so of me deciding.
The QC album arrived via email on the morning of the 14th. Initially, the timing was off—it was running slow—but they regulated it and sent a second round of photos showing improved performance. This was fixed within by midnight that night.
Shipping and Delivery
I approved the QC on the 15th, and the shipping confirmation arrived on the 18th. The tracking info indicated the package had been picked up on the 17th.
It passed Australian customs without any issues on the 21st and was delivered to me on the 28th.
Receiving the watch, inside the plain brown shipping box (with my order number written nice and large on the side), it was packed in the vacuumed sealed black custom Andiot watch box which was a nice touch. No major issues with the packaging and the box came with no damage. For what item was supposedly in the box, the shipping label had it labeled as a smartwatch.
Now, quick mention about the watch
I got the PAM1391 Panerai Submersible Luna Rossa, 44mm, and it’s a stunning piece (even if it is on the thicker side). I’ll post a detailed review of the watch itself in a separate post if people are interested, but so far, I’m happy with it.
Final Thoughts
My overall experience with Andiot has been positive: • Communication: Quick responses, but one or two questions missed and always being called bro. • Payment process: Smooth and efficient. • QC and shipping: A slight delay with QC
TL;DR: Ordered a PAM1391 from Andiot. Great communication, smooth payment process, on time QC. Watch was delivered on time.

Swollen lymph nodes
F22, 154lbs, 5’5”, smoker. Taking lamictal 75mg q24, propranolol 10mg prn, hydroxyzie 50mg prn, adzenys 18mg q24. PMH anemia.
Hey all! For the last two weeks all of the lymph nodes on the right side of my body have been very swollen and painful to palpation. The ones in my neck are swollen to the point where certain positions are difficult to breath and swallowing and yawning are extremely painful. I’ve had a migraine, excessive sweating, dehydration, dizziness, and fatigue. My blood pressure is running at 80/50, and my heart rate keeps jumping to 120-140. ECG normal.
I’ve been to urgent care and the ER and they just give me steroids and say “it’s probably reacting to a virus,” and one of them said that it was strep even though I had a negative test and I don’t have a sore throat. I’ve been given dexamethasone PO twice after expressing that it has no effect for inflammation and swelling.
But it’s been going on for two weeks and I don’t have any viral symptoms.
Any thoughts?

2024.11.28 02:50 MishoneIsMyFavorite Tori Amos's Lyrics - It's not just the words - how to explain it?

I've thought for a long time about how Tori's lyrics are genius level, and not just for the poetic nature of them, the subject matter, etc. but for something else I've never found a way to describe in words.
I've noticed that in a lot of popular music, especially with solo singer-songwriters, the lyrics follow a basic cadence, especially in the verse and they rhyme and give it meaning. But with Tori, very, very often, there is another level to it.
With her, the words take a shape. She doesn't just sing at the same rhythm. It's the rhythm. It's the sound of the lyrics, the shape of the words, not just the melody and the meaning that are brilliant. I don't often care much about lyrics in most of the music I listen to, but I do really love a singer who can do this. I don't think about it much, but songs/bands I can think of off the top of my head are Disturbed and Hed P.E. (I listen to mostly metal and acoustic, with a smattering of rap.)
Really good rappers (of which I know only a tiny few) do this regularly. I think at least a couple of Sarah McLachlan(?) songs. There is one song by Jewel where she adds this layer of sonic richness and the lyrics have a more varied rhythm which is Little Sister.
I'm sure there are millions of other examples, but I would say the majority of popular music does not have this extra layer most of the time.
Does someone know what I am talking about? And if so, do you know how to refer to this layer? I want to be able to explain what I mean to people.
A final note is that I've noticed that singer-songwriters who have this extra quality tend to be musicians, in addition to wring the song and singing (which of course Tori is and Jewel is).
