I manage a small shop surrounded by larger well established flower shops. Since I inherited it we've done lots to get our name out there and continue too, but in the meantime wire orders (FTD, FromyouFlowers, Avas, Teleflora) are what's keeping the lights on. I know it's not viable long term and looked down on in the sub, but I'm wondering what other managers/owners do to guarantee its worth the time and effort. This will be my second Christmas so I'm trying to fix mistakes from last year and really capitalize on the extra order volume.

I have a pretty good diet. I do love chocolate and munchie mix, and occasionally I buy chips and get a pizza once in a blue moon. Other than some sad lost battles with buying candy now and again, I have a really healthy diet where I drink two power-packed smoothies a day from Monday to Friday, eat chef's plate for dinner, or just live off those two smoothies some days, and take a slough of supplements in the morning that all make me function really well. Still, it's just food.
This verse refers to those who were focusing on the purity of their foods regarding having a spiritual significance to their right standing with God, but it is not the healthfulness of what we eat, or the kosherness, or purity; it is how God blesses us through it. God can lead us to eat in a healthy way and bless us naturally through that, but He could also have us in a place of great need, where we may not even realize how hungry we are because He is sustaining us, and He could give us supernatural strength to carry us on in a place of fasting and complete reliance on Him, but then because of His great will and grace He brings someone to gift us with a morsel, like a loaf of bread say, and that feeds not just you but your companions too and is the most nourishing thing you've ever eaten. Bread. The thing everyone is afraid of. God could even bless like that.
He does this by His grace because it is His power that is good. His power is His love. This is how we experience His power in our lives, by His love and grace toward us. That's why that grace is amazing. We could be so wholly nourished in His presence that it wouldn't matter if we physically ate anything at all; we would be so full of your goodness and grace that we have to share it with others. You tell us that man does not live on bread alone but on every Word that comes from the mouth of God. The Lord is excellent, and so is His Word. All He speaks will go forth. All He says will be as He is. It is as He is. We will always receive what we need from Him in mysterious ways.
The mysterious ways of the Lord are so amazing! How can we receive what we need while not understanding how it came or even where it came from, apart from the miraculous work of God? How can we know that it is His work, even while we can't actually see what He is still doing? How can we have such a trusting experience of what He is doing that we don't need to see to feel secure in it? How could we feel like we have a direction and a path when all that God shows us is what He is doing right now at the moment and how we can join Him right now in it? How can we feel so loved while simultaneously knowing we don't deserve any of it in any way? How can we be enabled to give that love even while knowing how completely incapable of doing it we are ourselves? How can we be presented with the absolute joy and wonder of the love of God and then still be able to stay in our weakness and not follow Him? How could we not only be able to do that, but have Him allow us to do that? It is by His grace.
God is showing me this. Every bit of supposed recovery I have made from my brain injury is entirely by His grace. It's called an invisible disability for a reason, and in my case, it's especially so. God has provided something that is helping me immensely, but without it, it's like my brain injury is even worse than it always was. It really isn't, though. I spent many years since the brain injury living in the grace of God without acknowledging Him in it. The more I receive His grace, the more it has opened me and my life up to so much more input and stimuli than ever before. No more lazing around doing nothing but eat/sleep/work and watch shows. Now He's given me things to say and the grace to say them.
I never had a reason for my brain injury to be made apparent. I slowly sunk into an easy routine that wasn't that challenging. If you knew how challenging it has been over the years of running my landscaping business to finally get into a system and habit of recording everything in the way I need to so that it's failsafe and can account for my issues in every way, then you'd see how brain injured I am. God led me to do that, and I got so into the routine that I began to forget how much I am challenged, simply because it was all being accounted for with my practice. Now that I am being challenged with so much that is apart from my routine and simple life of eat/sleep/work/be entertained, now I am being brought to learn how humble I must be.
Just left to my own, I can hardly concentrate. I get mesmerized by words, lost in thought. I try to read, I read a sentence, actually absorb it, or so I think, and then it's gone. Can't find it. I have to read it again. Hopefully, that time, I absorb it again, and it sticks, and then I move on. I reread simple text so often, trying to spend time in the Word each morning just on my own. That's only one example of the mental challenges, just with reading.
Listening to people talk is even worse. I have a whole list of issues with verbal communication. I have trouble hearing and processing quickly enough; I need to get people to repeat themselves to make sure I heard them correctly, then I have to think about it, figure out if I know what they are talking about, then ask them questions, and I have to remember what they said this whole time, which is pretty much impossible for me to do just from being told. There are times of clarity, it seems, on my own, but they are rare. Group conversation is impossible for me. I can't keep up with how people talk at all. I do believe God will do some miracles, though, to make me able to receive that verbal communication better than I ever have. That's what it all comes down to, though: just His grace doing extraordinary things. He's been giving me grace my whole life, but especially since my brain injury at 19. This is just communication, too. We couldn't even begin to weed through my actual struggles with thinking and processing, and what of that is personal or spiritual issues, and what is actually because of my damaged brain.
That's how He is speaking to me this morning. More encouragement. I am growing fonder and fonder of having my time in the Word with Him because, obviously, He can speak in a real and personal way, even to someone with a brain as addled by my foolishness as mine is. He could even use someone like me to give testimony of it. He carries me along by His grace, comforting me by His grace, leading me into more joy by His grace so I can experience more joy by His grace, and share this message of real love that actually changes people. God does it. He transforms. He shows His strength in our weakness by His grace. It is just love. He is love. Praise the Lord three times endlessly three times!

Lord God in heaven, praise to you forevermore! Thank you for showing your strength, even in my weaknesses. Even as I am entirely reliant on you, you can use me for your glory. You can do this with any of us by your grace. I pray that you will continue to work through your body, blessing us to know you in a real and personal way by your grace, that we can encourage each other in you, and show that hope to the lost who need to know you. I don't even feel you leading me to pray more than this, this morning, for I am in your grace, and I do trust you in it. Bless you Lord, and thank you for blessing us with your eternal love.

Finally deciding to upgrade from my old saloman buzz blades that I've been using for a few years. Ran through about 3 pairs and had to ditch them once the plastic bindings start to crack.
Any suggestions on a good all-around skiboard? I don't spend any time in the park but ski moguls, glades etc. I'm hoping I can find something that can tolerate ice, since I'm in the northeast, but give me a little more powder float than my salomans...which was a submarine fest 😂

A few months back my kids came home from school and told me their friend on the bus had them download this game. We were all hooked. I was especially hooked.
Man was it a grind though. Team building was insanely slow but we were making progress. I mapped out months long farming plans, consumed every YouTube video I could. Seriously, even if you have only 5 subs thank you. I would not be enjoying the game as much without the community presence on YouTube.
And then I joined the Discord and realized there are thousands of others just as engaged, planful, and obsessive players out there to talk to.
The community in this game really is full of rock stars. I try to live life by the rule of “we were put here on earth to celebrate and encourage the excitement and success of others” and this community really takes that to a high level.
And then my first LSB came. And I researched them like mad. And I gambled they’d be back for the holidays. I stopped farming anything that was in a bundle. I started following Nooch2Gud’s assault battle focused farming guide.
Now I have made a few friends on the discord, chat regularly, enjoy playing with my kids (who I find it funny are both in the same arena/fleet shard), and sit at 4.1m power with a mess of teams that are desperately needing developed.
Thanks for being such a welcoming and helpful group of people. Today I am definitely grateful for all of you.
