Hi vfx,
I’m a student in UCLA Extension’s film program (it’s like a night school), and I recently shot my final project. I’m in need of VFX work for two locked-off shots, and I’m hoping someone here might be interested in collaborating.
The setup:
• The effect involves making an actor appear as though they’re stuck in a wall.
• I shot two angles (one wide, one medium) of the actor elevated and struggling on the wall, as well as clean plates for both.
Unfortunately, I can’t afford professional rates, but I’d be happy to offer $150 Venmo as a gesture of appreciation.
I completely understand if this doesn’t work for most people and apologize in advance if this request is out of line.
The deadline is tight—it’s due Tuesday Dec 2nd —so I’d need to receive the final shots by then. I can send the shots tomorrow morning.

Hello everyone,
I need some advice regarding smart light switches. When I started using Home Assistant (HA), I bought a few cheap devices to test the system and see if I liked how it worked. A month later, I discovered that I really enjoy experimenting with dashboards and smart systems, so I invested in a few mid-range devices, and the experience has been fantastic!
However, I’ve been having constant issues with Tuya WiFi lightbulbs—they’re unreliable and randomly turn on and off. Everything else in my setup seems to work fine.
Now, I’m considering replacing my $12 cheap lightbulbs with smart switches like the one shown in the picture below. I’m based in the EU, and I suspect that my power setup doesn’t include a neutral wire (though I’ll confirm this to be sure).
I’m wondering if smart switches are a better solution overall. The way I see it, if a smart bulb fails, I’ll need to replace it with another $12 bulb. But if I install smart switches and use regular bulbs, I can simply replace a failed bulb with a cheap $2 one instead.
I’m also leaning toward Zigbee-supported switches since I’ve heard they work better with HA compared to WiFi devices.
I’d appreciate any advice or recommendations you have. Thanks!

Além de gótica eu sou cosplayer, e acabei misturando essas minhas duas paixões :) Neste cosplay tomei bastante liberdade, já que era pra ser um "gernderbent" mas minha principal inspiração foi o Drácula de Bella Lugoise. Prendi meu cabelo para trás para ficar "lambido" e usei a base branca para remeter aos filmes antigos em preto e branco e me da um ar de "morta-viva". A capa foi feita por mim e a gola foi inspirada em teias de aranha e o guarda chuva também foi customizado por mim 💖

2024.11.28 23:40 No-Bluebird-7872 Feeling lost

So I went to the ER last night after fainting two separate times- got in, they check my heart and blood and urine and all that and nothing was appearing out of order. I kept going in and out of consciousness and felt generally awful the great majority of the time. We did a sit and standing test and while I wasn’t able to see the results my family said my heart rate went from 100 while lying down to 150 while standing up- I didn’t catch the blood pressure. The patient summary says I experienced “orthostatic hypertension”. In the end they said dehydration and constipation were the culprits, despite me not being dehydrated (sodium levels were normal and so were hematocrit). Went home and took some miralax, immediately felt faint whenever I stood up from lying down even when going so very slow. Just wondering if pots is something I should be considering? I’m honestly just so terrified because I’ve never had an experience like this before and if it were not for the holiday (thanksgiving) I would certainly be unable to work :( if anyone relates to these experiences and has any words of advice that would be great
