2024.11.29 01:50 geog15 14 week old gas… losing my mind
My baby has struggled with gas since birth. He spit up a fair bit when younger, took him to gp who said it was normal. The spit up never really bothered him. From 4am onwards he would be writhing around trying to fart or poo and would only be happy once he did get it all out around 8am.
The last 2 weeks have been a nightmare, everyone said the gas gets better but it's got so much worse. He's now waking up every hour at least trying to pass wind and during the day there is a lot of crying, chewing his hands (which he does when he needs to fart or poo). He'll get a bit of relief if I do bicycle legs etc then it starts again.
He had a tongue tie cut at 4 weeks, he goes to the osteopath, I've given up dairy, soy and eggs since he was 6 weeks. I don't think it's reflux because he's happy on his back on the playmat and in his crib. He falls asleep at the breast and it's often the only thing that comforts him. He sometimes burps himself on the breast but hard to burp him myself now (was easier when he was younger for some reason).
What else can I try or has anyone had this experience? I'm a single parent so these nights and days are really draining me

I am a 34 yo first time mother. My 40yo SIL with 4 kids gave me her used uppababy vista stroller (valued at $1200 brand new) from 3 years ago. She was saying how she wanted some baby items gone from her garage, they were taking up space. I accepted these items. When we got the stroller, the seats had a really bad wet dog/mildew smell to them. I tried to clean them as well as sun bleach them to air them out without success. New seats retail for $350 each and so I decided to buy new seats and tossed the seats she gave me. It's worth mentioning we got the stroller in our possession around 4 months pregnant. By 6 months, we had changed our mind to get a side by side stroller (twins) instead. I wanted to toss the base and not say anything, but my husband wanted to see if his brother wanted it back as the item was selling for 70-100 on marketplace. To my surprise he said yes. I told her weeks ago I didnt keep the seats, I didnt say why because I was trying to avoid hurt feelings. Fast forward to today, thanksgiving of all days, and my MIL gets the stroller back into her possession. She has been texting me that she gave me a $1200 gift that she cleaned meticulously (we must have different definitions of clean) and that i should have thought about my actions before returning a useless stroller that she could have sold for money. I defended myself saying usually when I give items away, i dont care what happens to them once theyve left my possession. Family tensions are high right now, seeing as they are also hosting their family gathering in January just a few days before my scheduled c section to accommodate this brothers trip to Vegas and we have opted not to go. My husband wants to offer them the roughly 200ish bucks that they could of gotten of fb marketplace. I dont.

I have family issues, years ago we stopped getting along well and I really only have one sibling that I can talk to.
As for friends I have them but I constantly am the person who gives advice and helps them through trials and I don’t get that help back.
As for relationships, it’s hard finding love in a big city and everything seems to superficial.
Can anyone relate to feeling lonely but if someone looked at your life they’d never guess you felt that way?
