2025.01.18 03:40 jaavaaguru Water Bottles from Redstone contraption question (Java 1.20.1)
I've made this contraption to give me bottles of water when the button on the top right of the image is pressed. The button fires the dropper and a block is sent into the hopper in front which is used for timing the redstone in a loop back to the hopper.
The comparators are connected to the dispenser and hoppers towards the left of the image, in order of:
- top hopper getting unlocked
- dispenser dispensing and retrieving
- bottom hopper getting unlocked
The top chest contains empty water bottles and the dispenser fires them into a single block of water and takes them back again.
I suspect that when the full bottle is back in the dispenser, an empty bottle has also been dropped into it from the hopper above.
The reason I'm using the dropper and hoppers for the timing is that the signal to the dispenser is short enough to make it dispense and pick back up again. I thought this would be short enough to also not make extra bottles go into it, but I might be wrong there.
Can anyone help be stop getting empty bottles appearing in the chest on the left that picks up the output from the dispenser?
I've verified that the hopper under the water isn't picking up bottles from the dispenser. They always come straight down from the dispenser.

Hear me out here The GameCube was the last console that Nintendo put out that didn't have a gimmick to it and it was the most powerful console of that gen.
Ever since the Wii every console has a gimmicks the Wii motion controls, Wii U there was a screen on the controller, the Switch a system that can switch between handheld and console just by docking it.
Imagine what Nintendo could accomplish if they stopped doing gimmicks and returned to focusing on performance.

As a general it is annoying when someone makes demands on your appearance disguised as advice/compliments. This one specifically happens to me way too frequently.
For context have butt length very curly hair so yes on 'good days' it looks gorgeous. However I am constantly dealing with brushing out mats, an extensive wash routine, and it's constantly in my way. Whenever I complain a little because my hair is overwhelming me, there is always someone who practically yells at me to never cut it. Its also almost always someone with shorter or straight hair who absolutely does not understand how exhausted I am most days with dealing with my hair.
Stop telling people what to do with their appearance/body it's not a compliment!!

I wish to create a real life men’s mental health getaway/treatment center. Your input is the foundation. I’m not trying to capitalize on your trauma. This isn’t just for combat vets. But I’m reaching out to y’all because I think you just might not only be able to get behind this, but also benefit from this. And you likely have a friend or two that could do so as well. I’m a USN bubblehead vet. If I saw action, then there’s a good chance that none of us would be living.
In general, men’s mental health is overlooked. We are expected to deliver. Nothing else. That is all. Carry on…. Nobody gives a fuuuuuuuck. Just man up, son. Right?
Let’s change that. I’ve just purchased some property that I am going to dedicate to men’s health. And more importantly, men’s mental health.

I’m an SLP in a small behavioral/psych SNF. It is a rare and unique opportunity to work in this setting as an SLP, and I’ve built genuine and real connections with my patients and the other staff i work with (the rehab team consists of 1 SLP ([me]), 1 OT, and 1 PT). Working here has honestly changed my outlook and perspective on life and has been such a rewarding experience. We’re all young women, so we all grew a bond and are close, especially because we deal with challenging situations daily. Anyway, the PT is the DOR. She got fired today without any warning. Me and my other coworker are in the dark about who’s gonna take over or what’s going on, except the fact she was fired. The higher up management above her have some shady stuff going on, and I truly believe it was for unjust reasons (retaliation). I’ve had my own experiences with them. I know there’s going to be a number of people saying it’s just a job. I know my patients will survive without me. I know life goes on. I’m just sad that we had a good thing going and it came to an end without warning. It was so strangely sad as we were helping her pack up her stuff and just talking in the office till 6 pm not really wanting to leave. Now I’m debating quitting and finding something else…I don’t want to, but the higher up management (regional directors) for the rehab company i work for are making some shady moves, and i think I should leave soon. Has anybody had similar experiences? Any advice?
