Hello everybody,
I am an absolute beginner, never got a camera, and I just make some shots / videos from smartphone. From last summer, I tried to be more aware of my surroundings, and try to take more pictures of what I find pleasing.
I've got a 6 months backpack trip planned in April, from France to Turkey (maybe further, we'll see), and I was looking for a setup to log my trip.
As I love mountains and trekking, I was looking for a light setup, and I found the m4/3 philosophy, and got “hooked” (on the paper only, obviously)
I love taking pictures of nature, streets, and food. Maybe portrait people someday ?Ordered 2nd hand EM1.3 + M.Zuiko 20mm f1.4 pro for 1000e. Is that too much ? Overwhelming for a beginner ? Do I have to change lens / take another ?

I'm 23 years old and have unknowingly experienced many symptoms associated with VSS (Visual Snow Syndrome) in a mild and benign form for most of my life: BFEP, floaters, vertical ghosting, and possibly very subtle palinopsia. I've never consumed drugs, alcohol, coffee, or antidepressants. While I don’t have a formal diagnosis of OCD, I exhibit strong OCD traits and have been diagnosed with health anxiety.
In the month leading up to Christmas, I was constantly overworking myself—balancing university studies, work, and playing ranked computer games whenever I had a moment to spare. I barely ate and only managed about four hours of sleep each night. By the end of the month, I felt my neck was perpetually tense, and I developed a mild but constant headache during the last two days. Then, on the final day of the month, I experienced a severe migraine, which temporarily caused partial loss of my peripheral vision in both eyes. It was the first migraine of this magnitude I had experienced in 10 years.
About a week after experiencing a migraine (roughly a month ago), I started noticing something that I felt was unusual. Sudden hand movements seemed to leave faint trails in my peripheral vision. At first, I dismissed it, thinking, "It’s nothing significant—just objects on contrasting backgrounds causing motion blur." However, I was already anxious, and this added to my concerns, so I began paying closer attention.
A quick search on the internet led me to discover palinopsia, and that’s when the paranoia started. I won’t lie—I became hyper-focused on it. I began scrutinizing every lamp, light, or bright object, analyzing whether they left trails. If I stared directly at an object, it wouldn’t leave a trail. However, if I moved my eyes sharply to the left or right, a trail would appear, originating from the object’s previous position and stretching to its new one. This trail moved in a clear direction.
For the past month, this fixation has consumed me. I’ve barely worked, avoided watching movies or shows, didn't listen to any music and stopped playing games—terrified of noticing something "off." I’ve spent hours staring at reflective objects in my room, moving my eyes so quickly and sharply that they sometimes hurt.
When I *slowly* move my finger, watching behind it on a contrasting black surface I can see bluish silhouette moving behind it. At some point I noticed that the black objects on contrasting backgrounds leave trails, or silhouettes too, even though it's far harder to notice them. But, as I said before, I had a lot of time to practice.
Did I... break my brain? Or could it be just some sort of flare up of Illusory Palinopsia? Or my health anxiety making me hyperfocus on something normal? Please give me your opinion.

So I had been seeing this guy for about 6 months I met on grindr. We started out hot and heavy and just clicked right away, but under the assumption, we were just friends not looking for a commentment. Right out of the gate, we started talking every day and spending multiple days a week and weekends together and even spending the nights with each other too. Over the 6 months, this was consistent with a couple of bumps in the road, but each time, we worked through it and went right back to the usual together. We would say things like "I like you" and "I miss you" and "I really value our time together." All of this, added with morning, noon, and night pleasantries as well as the time spent together, made this friendship blur the kines into a relationship. We both still understood we weren't in a relationship and could shop around gor other people on grindr and elsewhere but if either found something better we would talk about it and address that when and if it got there. Now fast forward to the end, a couple weeks before christmas. He had to work, and I was off, and we were having our usual morning chat in text with each other. I asked how work was, he said boring, and he wanted to cut out early and go home. Not unusual for him, he didn't like working weekends. Anyway, so I told him the day would be done before he knew it. Then we went about our day. So I hoped on grindr to check my messages because we both could and did get on there frequently. When I got on I noticed he was online, but he was 18 miles away from me, which was crazy to me because he worked about 5 miles away from me. Now I was getting a little curious because we had just chatted he was at work and he didn't say anything about getting out of work and was even sure he wouldn't get to leave early even if he wanted to. So I messaged and said "Hey why does it say are you 18 miles away from me on grindr?" 10 minutes go by, and he finally responds, and it's super defensive. "I left work, and im a flea market in another town (about 30 minutes away). What does it matter?" I then lost my shit and said you were just at work. Wtf? Why would you lie to me. He then told me I was trippin' he left work and went out there to get food. I was fumming because the timeline didn't add up. Then he sent me a pic from the back of his family's car, not even his, and says "see not lying." At that point, I was pissed because he fed me this lie that he was at work having an okay day but really wasn't. I could have cared less that he wasn't working and doing something else it was the fact he was lying to me about it. After he sent the pic, he proceeded to tell me Im bot his boyfriend, and im being crazy so he was going to mute me for the rest of the day. I then saw red and brought up how he had fed me this same type of lie before saying he was at work and I get on grindr and sure enough he is showing somewhere else location wise completely different. I had gave him the benefit of the doubt with some of those because we weren't really talking in the moment with him saying im at work working like he did this time but he still was supposedly working those days. So I responded to him with an aggressive tone stating I don't appreciate being lied to and he needed to man up and just tell me the truth because I knew he had being lying to me a few times over now. Almost immediately after that, he blocked me on grindr and blocked my number and Instagram. I was so pissed at him but so confused too because we communicated so well usually, and now I got ghosted and blocked for calling out the truth. For a week, I left him alone and didn't try to reach out, but after a week of being blocked with no contact, I started to get upset and feel bad for my aggression. So I did the crazy ex thing and made a new profile on grindr and reached out to him. It took him about a day to respond, and when he did, I was shocked and heartbroken to what he said. He basically told me that I wanted more from him then he wanted to give me as far as a relationship which was bs because I was happy with the situation we had going and wasn't needed more yet. Then he said he forgave me for my aggression, but I acted possessive, and that disgusted him and my energy was bad in his life right now, so it's best we dont talk anymore, and I stay blocked. That was like a punch to the gut. How can this be the case after the last 6 months of so much time together and all feelings expressed. I was so confused and just sick to my stomach. He never addressed his lies either and basically wrote me off after that. Now it's been a month since, and I am still lost and heartbroken and just don't know how to move forward from here. It's like he was 2 different people, and when it ended, he moved on without and concern for me. Now Im left trying to figure out where to go from here because the 6 months were very real for me and felt like something, but apparently, it wasn't for him. Im still gutted and just want this pain to go away, but im having such a hard time moving on even though he lied.

Hi ppl. I'm learning French since the past 250 days on duolingo. But recently, I've been thinking of learning German too because it aligns with my future goals. But I'm afraid that if I learn two languages simultaneously, I would end up making little to no progress in either.
As of now, I'm not confusing myself up in both the languages as I'm far ahead in French than I am in German. But I'm scared that I might end up mixing both of these languages together if I learn them both simultaneously.
Is there anybody else who learned two languages simultaneously? Did it work out for you? Is there any advice you would like to give to me?
