2025.01.18 18:40 Xr3iRacer Trying OpnSense on Virtual box.... can't ping in
Hi all, I hope someone can help. I am attempting to run a virtualbox built lab (on my PC) which I would like to communicate with using a laptop. I have a opnsense firewall set up with 2 network adapters, one on internal network and one on bridged. I have a win22 server and win 10 vm also on the internal network. all works fine, the VMs have internet access thru the firewall. The VMs can ping my laptop on my which is on the wifi and same ip range as WAN interface of the firewall, but my laptop can't ping in. I can also connect to the Firewall gui from my laptop. But no pings will go through. I managed to turn off two settings in the firewall, block private networks and block bogons. But there is a rule at the top of default deny which I cannot seem to override. I have set up allow rules for the ip of the laptop to have access to the internal LAN but still it won't go thru, do I need to set up a NAT rule? I have currently have it on hybrid setting. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

All of my friends are mastering out and joining industry instead of continuing in academia. I am doing my masters though so I can't really go anywhere but seeing these bright people leave makes me think I won't make it. Even though I've got one year left, I've been overwhelmed by thoughts of failure.
Anyways, I came across a post on instagram this morning of a girl posting a "wake me up" trend video where she looked like she was enjoying her hike with a "before joining the industry" caption then a "after 6 months in the industry" with a headshot of her crying and all I kept thinking was oh my gosh it is difficult no matter what one choses and nobody looks happy (I really thought it was a targeted ad because of how much we talk about this), then a 2 years in the industry where it was a full body shot of her posing and I was confused for a second then I looked at the comments and it clicked :') what kind of industry it was hahaha. I laughed my ass off because of how much I keep worrying about post grad life but really there are so many options out there (jk). I thought I'd share this because I felt stupid lol.

 | I put on Hakka LT3 Es on the cheapo 20in rims from tire rack just in time for todays weather. On my way out of a snowy Utah canyon, my vehicle was one of the best performing cars on the road. Cars were swerving all over, passed a guy putting chains on his ice rated tires, and passed a van that had almost slid into the river. There's a concept in epistemology that I've enjoyed for a long time and I want to know if there's a formal name for it.
It seems to me most people are willing to accept a proposition as true so long as they have some combination of elements that support it (such as experience, logic, utility, etc). What I'm interested in is the idea of exploring why an idea may not be true as a condition of eventually accepting it.
Ancient people were aware of something very similar. I recently learned about "Purva Paksha" which is the idea that before criticizing someone's idea you should understand it as thoroughly as possible. This and other ideas (like "steelmanning") are similar but not exactly what I have in mind, as they still seem to be focused on the best reasons to believe a particular idea. I'm more interested in the best evidence or argument against an idea, although obviously there will be overlap e.g. evidence for a mutually exclusive idea X is just as good as evidence against Y.
I've been interested in this concept for decades, but every year I feel nonsense on e.g. social media highlights it more and more: it's not enough to find reasons to like an idea, you must find reasons to dislike it as well... so anyway, does that have a name?

So my quest 2 has been acting up A LOT. I've co tasted meta and they can't help me at all.
Here are the issues. The quest was factory reset and now the screen is Grey. When restarting or accessing the boot menu the screen stops being Grey and I'm able to reset it again or whatever the options are all while the controllers are vibrating like crazy. There's also a solid blue/purple dot where the quest indicator light

Awhile ago I made a post here, explaining I felt alone in my experiences. Since then I have gotten so much support that I realised I don't have to be afraid of feeling "different". I have however noticed something and I wonder if anyone is experiencing the same things. Whenever I look up info about UFO's/NHI, outerworld life I get dizzy, as if I suddenly take too much information in. It only happens with these subjects aswell.
Since beginning of January I also suffer from ear tinnitus, a lot worse than the years before. I normally have a bit of a sound in my right ear, but lately it's been both. I never listen to loud music and i'm in low sound enviroments. The past few days weird things have been happening, numbers showing up and the number 13 keeps showing, clocks, movies, shows even my phone randomly turns on at these times..
I went to look for more information, a number 19:15 kept popping up so I was curious, found some people who again linked to my birth month March and each time I get dizzy, am I going insane? I know i'm sound of mind, but even this for me is becoming too odd to ignore. Figured this would be the place to ask, knowing you all know much more than I do and maybe i'm not alone in being dizzy when looking up information.
