Thank you for your message on June 10 2024, responding to the issue with Social Security. I request your assistance in this matter. The information requested regarding this issue is provided.
DESCRIPTION OF PROBLEM
Prior to turning 65 years (2019), I started seeking information for Medicare Part B. Specifically I was seeking information as to what coverage would be provided beyond the FEHB healthcare I had with Kaiser. I made many calls to Medicare agents and asked questions concerning what benefits I would gain with Medicare Part B. No representative was able to provide answers to these questions or direct me to where I could find the answers. I researched extensively on my own to try to get the answers without success.
After making attempts for over a year, I finally gave up, still not knowing if I should get Medicare Part B coverage.
After some time, I started noticing commercial ads touting Medicare Part B benefits, stating that reimbursement of premiums was available from some providers. Upon further research I was advised of a dedicated site for FEHB participants regarding Medicare coverage which answered some questions, but not all. I also found that Kaiser offered an advantage plan with reimbursement of premiums.
Still not knowing the answers to my questions, I submitted an application for enrollment in Medicare Part B by certified mail on March 17 2023 and by fax on March 20th 2023 during General Enrollment Period (GEP) to Social Security administration, 9500 Center street, Manassas Virginia 20110. I was very careful to try to align the application with reimbursement of the Medicare Part B premium. Reimbursement of premiums was the sole reason for applying for Medicare Part B, as the overlap of benefits was duplicated and I was unable to pay double premiums (FEHB and SS / advantage plan premiums).
After more than 90 days, I was becoming very distressed because I had not heard or received any contact from Social Security on the application I submitted on March 17 and March 20 2023 for Medicare Part B.
On June 27 2023, I contacted the local Social Security office (855) 210-0123 where I had been directed to mail the application.
I spoke to a social security representative named Pearl and explained that I had mailed the application for Medicare Part B. I said that I had become increasingly concerned that I had not received any contact from Social Security relating to the application. I said I had read that the period to apply was January 1 – March 31 and I had submitted the application on March 17 2023 and March 20 2023. I said I had read that it would start on July 1 2023. I said that it seemed very unusual to have not received any notices regarding the application.
Pearl checked and said that the system shows no record of receiving the part B application. She said they normally scan it and it would show in my file. I said I had mailed it certified and faxed the application for enrollment in Medicare Part B on March 17 2023 and March 20 2023 (respectively), but had not received any notice which seemed odd. I said I had a certified mail tracking number. She asked for the certified mail tracking number and I provided it to her.
She then advised that she had found it. Pearl said it would be effective retroactively to when I applied in March. I said it was now June 27 2023. I said that I had read that it would start in July after the application period of January – March. She said it changed from a July start time in 2022 because they were getting too many complaints about it taking too long. She said they would be taking the money out for those months. I said all information I had seen on open enrollment stated it would start in July.
I said that doesn’t make sense or seem right that it would be backdated retroactively to March 2023 since I had not known it had started and had not received any acknowledgment, authorization, notification or updates evidencing the Part B coverage and was under the advisement that it would start in July.
She said she would check tomorrow to confirm it was effective and said she would call me back. She said I would receive confirmation in the mail. I did not receive a return call after this conversation.
On July 12 2023, I received BNC # 23T2638D92998-A, July 5 2023 stating You will receive $873.60 for October 2023 around November 8th 2023. (Copy attached)
No identifying information was provided for the amount to be paid.
The stated amount of $873.60 to be received on November 8 2023 was not received. No explanation for non receipt was provided.
On July 15 2023, I received new social security cards that showed Medicare Hospital (Part A) 10/01/2019 and Medical (Part B) 04/01/2023. (Copy attached)
On July 17 2023, I received BNC # 23B3973C32175 July 11 2023 stating
We deduct $214.40 for medical insurance premiums every month. (Copy attached)
After receiving notice and a new Medicare card confirming Part B coverage, I was then able to apply for an advantage plan to Kaiser along with the documents for reimbursement of the premiums. Kaiser required proof of Social Security Medicare Part B benefit and payment, so I was not able to apply until notice was received from Social Security. I requested a start date of April 1 2024 on the application as this was the date that Social Security had backdated the effective date of Medicare Part B coverage.
On July 28 2023, I submitted a Kaiser Medicare Advantage II application to Kaiser.
Upon notification and confirmation of enrollment in Medicare Advantage II, on August 7 2023, I submitted an application to Kaiser for reimbursement of premiums. I requested the back dated start date of April 1 2023 that the Social Security Administration had advised would be the start date of payment for Medicare Part B premiums and also provided copies of the Medicare account reflecting Medicare Part B premiums charged starting in April 2023.
On August 14 2023, I received a notice from Kaiser advising I needed to resubmit on a different form. On August 24 2023, I resubmitted via fax, email and mail, the enrollment form as advised with requested effective date of 04/01/2023 which was the backdated start date of April 1 2023 that the Social Security Administration had advised would be the start date of payment for Medicare Part B premiums.
I received a notice of August 31 2023 from Kaiser stating Medicare has approved your enrollment in Kaiser Permanente Medicare Advantage (HMO) beginning September 1 2023.
Despite requesting a start date of April 1 2023 on the enrollment and premium reimbursement application and providing proof of premiums, Kaiser approved a start date of September 1 2023. This created a lapsed gap between the local Social Security Office backdated (retroactive) start date for coverage of April 1 2023, during which I had no authorization, knowledge or notice of Part B coverage, and Kaiser’s approved start date for reimbursement of September 1 2023.
On October 11 2023, I received BNC # 23T2638D92998-A October 4th 2023 stating You will receive $1,528.80 for January 2024 around February 14 2024. (Copy attached)
No identifying information was provided for the amount to be paid.
The stated amount of $1,528.80 to be received on February 14 2024 was not received. No explanation for non receipt was provided.
On October 23 2023, a copy of Social Security Beneficiary amount paid and medicare.gov My Monthly Premiums was again emailed and faxed to Kaiser for reimbursement showing premium amounts of $214.40 for April – December 2023. No reimbursement was received for April – August 2023.
On October 25 2023, I received BNC # 23W1878J08245 October 20 2023 stating We deduct $214.40 for medical insurance premiums each month. (Copy attached)
On January 2 2024, I received BNC # 23M1802K79199-A December 23 2023 stating In addition, our records show you owe past due medical insurance premiums of $836.00 for April 2023 through December 2023. You must pay this medical insurance premium balance within 3 months of the date of this notice. A separate bill is enclosed for these past-due premiums. If the premium balance is not paid in full, your Medicare Part B coverage will stop the last day of March 2024. (Copy attached)
A Kaiser letter of May 3rd 2024 was received stating Medicare has told us that you no longer have Medicare Part B. You need to have coverage under both Medicare part A and Part B to remain enrolled in a Medicare Advantage plan. Therefore your membership in Kaiser Permanente Medicare Advantage (HMO) ended on March 31, 2024. (Copy attached)
I received BNC # 24M1928H89077-A May 6 2024 stating your Medicare premium for medical insurance was not paid within the time limit. Therefore, your medical insurance coverage has stopped. Your last month of coverage was April 2024. Benefits will not be paid for any medical services you receive after your last month of coverage.
Because we have stopped your medical insurance coverage, we will no longer withhold your monthly benefits toward paying current premiums. However, we will continue to withhold your monthly payments until the past due premiums owed of $852.80 for coverage through March 2024 has been repaid. (Copy attached)
ACTIONS TAKEN TO RESOLVE THE MATTER
I submitted a detailed complaint including four pages describing the facts of the issue and supporting documents to the Social Security Administration on Jan 29 2024 by fax and Jan 30 2024 by certified mail. The complaint was also submitted to Kaiser Atlanta GA by certified mail on Jan 30 2024. (copy attached)
No response was received from Social Security. After an extended time, a response was received from Kaiser citing and deferring to Social Security’s action. Kaiser did not address the disparity of the start date of reimbursement to the Social Security’s backdated start date for Medicare Part B.
Sent copies of my medicare account site showing the Medicare Part B premiums paid from the account beginning March 1st 2023, on August 7 2023 (premium reimbursement application) and again on October 23 2023.
DESCRIPTION OF FAVORABLE OUTCOME AND ROLE TO ACHIEVE THE OUTCOME
Favorable outcome and role to achieve the outcome would include:
Waiver of penalty for obtaining late coverage as a result of being unable to obtain necessary information to make informed decisions about coverage.
Remove $836.00 debt created by delayed application processing, backdating effective date during which recipient had no acknowledgement, authorization, notice or updates of coverage, subsequent debt owed for backdated period of lapse, extortionary threat for payment and stopping Medicare Part B coverage when alleged debt is not paid by specified date.
Restore Medicare Part B coverage to original status prior to rescinding coverage.
Provide necessary documents to claim reimbursement for penalty amounts paid
(January – March 2023)
Provide full explanation for BNC # 23T2638D92998-A July 5 2023 and BNC # 23T2638D92998-A October 4 2023 including source of funds and explanation for non receipt of funds.
Investigate the frequency of occurrence for tactic of delayed application processing, backdating effective date during which recipient had no acknowledgement, authorization, notification or updates of coverage, subsequent debt owed for backdated period of lapse, extortionary threat for payment and rescinding Medicare Part B coverage when alleged debt claim is not paid by specified date.
Institute protective measures to ensure this abuse upon seniors does not occur.
Improve service provided at local Social Security offices to ensure accountability of documents received, timely processing, reduce wait times, etc. Provide services to avoid distress upon seniors.
Conclusion
It is appalling that the actions of Social Security have weaponized my benefit against me to create a scenario of entrapment, perpetrate extortion of funds and deny benefits. Their acts of fraud, negligence and omissions of action contributed to this outcome. The contrived debt created by backdating became an extortionary action when demand for payment was made by a specific date. Subsequently, I was denied the ability to pursue benefit of premium and penalty reimbursement.
My attempts to submit a detailed description and dispute of the actions were treated with complete disregard. I did not receive a single response.
The inability to get assistance from a government entity without resorting to excessive efforts has potentially devastating consequences. It reveals a broken and mismanaged taxpayer funded system. The system is extremely subject to errors and manipulation by Social Security and private providers
I have received reimbursements from Kaiser for September – June 2024 for the advantage plan premiums paid. I received partial reimbursement of the penalty fee for September – December 2023. I have not been reimbursed for the penalty amount paid for January 2024 to present. I sent an inquiry regarding this lapse and was advised that there is an annual requirement to submit a social security statement showing the amount. I have not received any such social security statement.
I recently received reimbursement from Kaiser for the June 2024 basic Medicare Part B premium payment. However, since receiving Social Security notice of Medicare Part B stoppage, it is not clear if I can accept the funds without being subject to repayment.
Upon googling the local SS office (Manassas), there were extensive comments from people advising of claims that documents they had submitted had not been received, hours long wait times to be seen, rude and dismissive treatment, etc. I knew I could not withstand standing in a line for hours to be seen.
I have since discovered that the benefit being touted for rides to appointments is an empty offer. This was one of the benefits I hoped to gain by obtaining Medicare Part B. I was scheduled for an outpatient surgery procedure and advised that I could not drive myself. When I attempted to arrange a ride to the procedure and return, I was told that the ride could not be provided since the procedure required local anesthesia. So when I needed the ride the most, it was not available. I wrote a detailed complaint about the transportation issue and submitted it to Kaiser. The tests and services are limited, requiring travel to locations of considerable distances.
The Medicare system is designed to align Medicare benefits with private providers. This should be an efficient, seamless, time sensitive operation. I am not a certified health benefits servicer but I do know what should have happened since I had undertaken careful diligence. Upon submission of the enrollment application, prompt processing and notification of coverage should have occurred, confirmation and new social security cards reflecting Part A and B coverage should have been timely received, thereby enabling enrollment application of the Advantage plan and concurrent application of reimbursement.
Despite the arduous heroic effort I made to obtain, research and comprehend Medicare Part B, Advantage plans and the enrollment process, it was taken from me by reckless retaliatory actions.
My questions regarding the choices I need to make regarding Medicare Part B coverage and the overlap and additional benefits from my FEHB coverage, remain unanswered and elusive. The agents are NOT knowledgeable for these questions.
The Medicare system for seniors is an obscenely complicated process where information is not available or misleading, unbelievably complex in nature and subject to misinterpretation. It is impossible to understand for even the highly knowledgeable. It would require an experienced health care agent to be able to comprehend the facts and information and the disparate parties and their roles, to make informed choices, with the compound issue of the substantial amount of information that is erroneous,not disclosed or outdated, Subjecting an aging population to this process Is deplorable.
The Medicare system is a nightmare scenario, especially for anyone who has coverage Beyond Stand alone basic Medicare coverage.

AITAH for disrespecting my father? I'm still very young, in school, and I know that I should not go around asking this. But was I in the wrong for never calling him 'dad'? He was really sad by this and heartbroken when we saw each other for the first time in a decade. He had celebrated my birthday only twice, both very far apart in years. He left me and my mom when I was just three months old, never getting a job even when my mother sued him for child support, but he purposely remained jobless to not pay for child support and leeches off of his mom (my grandmother) and his new fiancé who was pregnant twice by him, the first being a boy but died in the womb, and the second a girl who's one year and three months. When he fetched me from the airport, he and his new 'love' were all nice to me, but soon started making me take care of my new sister. My mom urged me to go to Manila (I'm from Cebu), as she wanted me to use my grandmother (my father's mother) as she sold many things from her dead husband and was filthy rich. Despite not seeing my grandmother in a decade, I was always somehow her favorite as I'm the firstborn granddaughter, because out of her three sons, I was the first girl to be born, and was the favorite even though I had older male cousins. Immediately right after they fetched me, we all went to the Apple Store and got me an iPhone 16 plus, and I was pretty happy with it since they didn't give my mom any money for child support. And they finally brought me the things I needed from them after all these years. But they broke the mood. We were at my 'dad's fiancé's home, he lives off of her, but she's too in love to leave him, she's literally the CEO of some business and is filthy rich. Anyways, her parents were the nicest people to me and such, so hold on, time skip to Christmas. Visitors came and my dad introduced them to me and my baby sister, he said 'this is S (won't reveal sister's name), my daughter. And this is... G, my OTHER daughter.' He emphasized the 'OTHER'. I was a bit surprised, as the guests seemed to have gotten the hint that I was from another woman before his fiancé. And they all laughed so hard. I almost cried, and I was humiliated. I was in a call with my classmates on Discord, but lowered the volume. And they heard it. And they were asking me about it. I felt so upset. The fiancé's parents took me aside and comforted me, seeming to have sensed my mood when my own 'father' didn't. I was back to being bitter and refused to call him 'dad', and called him by his name. My 'dad' then gave me the silent treatment, and his fiancé and my grandmother are saying I was ungrateful because he 'literally took initiative to bring you here'. So am I the asshole for supposedly disrespecting my 'father'?

So I came across a Reddit post where the OP mentioned seeing a TikTok video from a lawyer claiming that DACA recipients can't download Red Note, and that doing so could affect their legal status or renewal. This claim immediately seemed outlandish to me, so I decided to look into it further. Another Redditor linked me to the video from the lawyer the OP was referring to. Here’s my take:
I had my doubts about the lawyer’s message, as it felt like she was emphasizing caution without providing much evidence to back up some of her claims. The whole “Chinese app” angle seemed like a big assumption without clear proof of why people are switching to Red Note.
After a while, I thought about this post again, and well, if I can't trust the influencer lawyer, then I can't trust OP either. So here’s where it gets even more suspicious: I checked the OP’s account. The account was created just a few months ago (9/23/2023), and there wasn’t much engagement until recently. They joined a subreddit until 6/23/2024, scrolled 10 "Banana lengths" until 11/27/2024, and 100 "Banana lengths" until 12/29/2024. Their first comment was five days ago, and their first post came today. That post seemed designed to stir up fear, and they didn’t even respond to any comments, which makes me think something’s off.
I’m not saying the lawyer is intentionally trying to instill fear, nor am I suggesting that the lawyer is the OP trying to get traction on her video. My view on what I think about the lawyer is clear in the comment quoted above. What I’m saying is that the OP’s account and this post feel really suspicious. Something about it just doesn’t sit right with me, and the whole situation seems fishy as hell. It feels like there was no real intention behind the post other than to stir up fear.
I’ve only recently started being more active in this sub, so I’m not sure if this kind of behavior is common here, but this feels really suspicious to me. Is anyone else noticing similar posts, or is this an unusual occurrence? How do you usually handle posts like this?
Or is it just me losing my mind here? Maybe I should just go to sleep... and I am. Let me know.

 | A couple of days ago, the rear view camera suddenly stopped working. The camera view is crossed out when I put the gear to reverse (see pic) but no errors on the dashboard. I have already tried rebooting the MMI normally and via the engineering menu as well as resetting the MMI to factory settings. But nothing has worked so far :( I wanted to check the fuse for the camera. According to the manual and other diagrams I could find online, this is supposed to be the C13 fuse in the trunk fuse box. If the name came from Old Norse, presumably it was named from the perspective of the Norse living in Sweden/Norway, and Denmark was serving as the bulwark to defend against continental Europeans.
But it also seems to refer to the Schleswig area as the march that medieval German kingdoms used to protect against peoples from the Nordic lands.

2025.01.19 10:20 Rude-Huckleberry-889 Need tips
I want to start getting better sleep but just can't get my shit together. I have tons of bad habits and also no real insensentive to even go to bed early. I am 17, home schooled and don't have have a job or anything. I can do all my school and chores in like 3 hours or less so going to bed at 3-4 AM and getting up at 1pm has no consequences at all.
When the time comes I know I SHOULD go to bed I always would rather watch YouTube or work on something in Blender than sleep because I feel as if I would be wasting the nice quiet of the night.
