I’m redoing my whole house and I have oak flooring all throughout the whole house except for the kitchen which was tile.
Now I know Oak can be sanded and refinished but I do not have the money to do it.
I was going to keep it but I could not find a tile for the kitchen to match my oak.
Plus the oak has been there and not maintained since probably the 70s .. now .. is laminate flooring good? Will it look cheap? Am I making a mistake ?

2025.01.19 13:10 carrot0202 L15 Gen 1 trackpad issues - driver related?
Hey! Just set up an L15 Gen 1 for my mum with a fresh install of Windows 11.
I installed all updates and drivers from Lenovo Vantage.
I'm having an issue where the trackpad works fine for the first few seconds after booting into Windows, then gets more choppy and moves to random places.
The trackpoint works as expected.
I'm confused because I did exactly same thing on my L14 Gen 1 a couple of days ago after upgrading the SSD. Clean install of W11, drivers from Vantage. No issues on my L14. Both laptops are using exactly the same driver version for 'Synaptics Pointing Device' and 'HID-compliant Mouse'.
The L15 and L14 are basically the same laptop, just different sizes, right?
The BIOS diagnostics seems to work fine for both the L14 and L15 trackpads.
I tried out the L15 in the shop. It was running W10 and still had a choppy trackpad but I just assumed that was driver related as it was a bare minimum W10 install.
Can anyone point me in the right direction with this?

So for me I would describe the elf civ I made as having a very modest culture where both men and women wear long sleeved clothing and skirts that reach to the ankles. This was originally because they live in a very cold and rainy climate but overtime short sleeved garments and short skirts became associated with promiscuity and low class since it was often worn by farmers. The elves also wear a forelet, a bracelet worn around the forehead and has the same purpose as a wedding ring and is worn by both husband and wife Then for funerals the elves despise cremation because of their belief in Hell and that flames will torture the soul of the deceased. So instead they wrap the dead tightly in reed because of reed being considered a holy plant since the land of Gods is built on floating reed masses in a lake. The elves also do not make cemeteries and instead bury the dead in the place they were raised. If you grew up in a palace, you would be buried in the backyard, grew up I a farm or orphanage then you will be buried in the fields or forest. So that's just for me, what is th culture like of your civs/races.

2025.01.19 13:10 DoomVegan Don't buy Hyundai (Sonata);
So over a year and half ago my 2016 Sonata was burning oil and stopped running. 55k miles. Took it to a dealership who didn't work on it for over a month. Finally they forced me into a oil test. It was burning just less than quart every 1000 miles but that was not good enough for them to do their warranty. Spark plugs completely fouled. Tail pipe completely black from burning oil. Didn't have the energy to sue them. $1200 in rental fees gone.
Fast forward to last week. I've been keeping the oil topped of (ridiculous). 62k miles. It starts knocking and I can rev the engine past 1400 rpm as it electronically locked. Take it to a near by mechanic DNA Automotive in San Rafeal who wrote:
"Upon inspection we found knock sensor codes for the engine. We inspect engine and we found the oil very dark black. We checked spark plugs and we found that the plugs were black on the tip indicating oil going to cylinder. We listened to the engine and we hear a knocking sound coming from inside the engine. recommend replace engine oil and recheck for noise if noise continue engine will need to be replaced."
Another $400 bill. Tried to drive it back home to a dealer near me and it complete froze up. Wasted half a Saturday getting roadside assistance. It is now sitting at a dealership who put a $250 inspection fee just in case. Still going throw the hassle of trying to get them warrant the engine that they knew was bad. Their warranty is a lie and they will do everything they can to not cover their promises.
