2025.01.19 15:10 sexyloser1128 Does anyone know how well the Browning Auto-5 semiautomatic shotgun shoots on blackpowder?
I read it was pretty much the first semiauto gun designed to use blackpowder as a lot of people was still using it at the time. It uses a neat friction ring system to manage the cycling, most modern semiautos I've seen to try to use blackpowder usually start having problems after a while (probably because the recoil springs are used to more powerful smokeless). Seeing how simple the friction ring system is and that it was recoil operated, I wonder if it could have been invented earlier. It would be cool to see some semiautos in the wild west era. Could any semiautos (recoil operated) be invented earlier? Or was it beyond the tech at the time?

2025.01.19 15:10 kessel8777 neighbor’s cat hanging out with us, how to keep my pets safe?
we've been letting our neighbor's cat inside our house the past few days, because it's 15° outside and she's chilly and lonely (she's an outdoor only cat, afaik).
the long-term plan with her is still up in the air, as she does have owners, but they leave her outside 24/7 and idk if she has any sort of shelter to keep her warm or not.
my question isn't about her or that situation though—my question is, since i don't know if she has any sort of vaccinations or anything like that, how can i make sure that my own kitty (and my little dog) are safe? i want to make sure they don't catch anything from her or something like that, if that's really even a concern. advice??
(if you do have advice on how to handle the whole "cat being left out in 15° weather" situation, i won't turn that down)

He's 9 years old, miniature pinscher and i noticed this bump about a month ago but everyone said its just a skin tag from old age.. i don't know know if I'm stressing out or if it's grown in size but he has no reaction to it when touched and the reason why i haven't been to a vet yet is because the vets in my country are not that good and will say anything for you to spend the most money possible and without telling you a single thing about what's going on with your dog. Please help with what you think it is any advice is welcome

Just came across this video today randomly on my feed https://www.youtube.com/shorts/BVQKxav1NFM and noticed how many similar symptoms him and Liams have in common: non verbal, stims, food sensory issue….they more or less seems to be on the same spectrum of autism. If she doesn’t get him help soon he might end up completely dependent on her even in his adult life. Do yall think Mindy is gonna be able to handle that by herself with Larry very likely gone? If I was her I would extremely worried and book him up for all kinds of specialists, because lets be honest, if she has to end up his permanent caretaker, her problems will only be just starting.

There’s one team this year that has had a player suspended games for repeatedly leading with the crown of their helmet and tackling players - including quarterbacks - helmet-to-helmet, and it’s the Texans. Their organization also denied any wrongdoing by Azeez Al-Shaair after his late hit on Trevor Lawerence that ended Lawrence’s season.
You can bet the officiating crew was told that if they saw anything remotely resembling helmet-to-helmet contact by the Texans - especially on Mahomes - that they needed to throw the flag, because the organization has a history this year of leading with the helmet on QBs.
And, no matter how incidental the contact, they still led with their helmets at Mahomes’ head yesterday.
Basically, if you want the benefit of the doubt on contact to the head of a QB, don’t build a reputation and be unrepentant for it in the season.

Hey, guys! I'm a graduating student of BSc in CS & AI, in italy. And I am searching for internship or junior position as a Developer, but all I got was rejection, due either to insufficient language level(Italian) or "minimum 1 year experience for entry level".
I was wondering, as a Non-EU, can I work remotely outside of my current residence (italy), somewhere in other EU country?
I saw alot of posts from all EU countries, that they offer full work from home, but I'm not sure if they will consider me. So, will companies hire me? Or should I stop applying outside of my residence country?
