Friday night, I ran what has become a con standard for me, my Black Powder Epic American Civil War game “A Chance Encounter” that saw a Union and Confederate division fighting over a couple of important crossroads. Black Powder is a relatively fast-moving game, but can drag out if you are playing to the official breakpoint of an army, so I set the game limit at 6 turns. This also put pressure on the players to get things done. As part of scenario special rules, we allowed any unit with a failed order test to make one move or order change. We also halved all movement rates and ranges. This was another element designed to keep things moving. We were fortunate to have experienced players that helped keep the game moving. The Union had first move, but the Confederates were able to move into some good covering terrain and form a solid base of fire. The Confederates were working on a double envelopment to push the Union back from the objectives. The Union had trouble getting their right flank to move, but did manage to refuse the flank and hold the Confederate assault on that quarter. The center saw a constant exchange of rifle and artillery across a couple of tree lines. The Union stubbornly pushed forward to secure both objectives and then tried to hold on. The Union left and Confederate right fought a war of movement and close combat around the farm and the nearby forest. This fighting saw a Union regiment get broken and routed off the field. 3 points to the Confederates! The other game that we ran were a pair of demo games for Clash of Rhyfles, This Quar’s War. We ran one demo Saturday night, and one Sunday morning. Both were well attended as folks wanted to see what the fighting anteaters were all about. Quar is a small footprint game that fits easily on a 3x3 or 2x3 play area so I grabbed a spare 6 foot round near my booth and set up two 1v1 games on it. Because of it’s action point system, Quar doesn’t lend itself to multiplayer games, but the action point cards can be proxied with regular playing cards. Each trip through the action deck is one turn. We had to call one of the 4 games due to the players having to leave, on Sunday, but the other 3 came off pretty well. The Crusaders won all three games, thus advancing their “revolution” against remaining royalists and their allies. With it’s 3d6 skill test system and fluid reaction process, the game keeps players engaged during the entire turn. So I have this really sad and dark dnd npc that I wanted to use in my current shadowrun campaign but can't think of a way to convert his ability, I'll quickly tell you his story and my idea currently
He's a solo warrior who fight with his ability of controlling the monsters tattooed on his body he can essentially grab his ink and cast it like a spell the bigger the peice the more powerful. His story is not know across the land, but when you see him you know you'll be safe.
the only thing people don't understand is why he won't take off his amour, but when you fight with him it all becomes clear, as powerful as his ability is it comes with a great cost, the cost of remembering on his back is the most beautiful women in glorious clad amour, in the heat of battle he takes a deadly hit and in a last ditch effort and with a tear running down his face he reaches over his shoulder and grabs the women throwing her at the enemy's.
As she forms she looks back and the man and smiles she's rushes into the fight clearing hoards of enemy's and finally killing the bb of the gang as the leader falls to the ground she rushes to the man jumping into his arms as she passionately kisses him on the lips and now out of battle more details of her equipment become clear as you see a ring on her finger as well as a mark on his.
he starts to cry as you see her body start to shift and wobble as she slowly smiles for the last time and as she's almost completly gone you hear her final words, don't worry ill see you soon my love, she disappears out of his arms and he collapses and starts to cry once again
Now my idea to convert this story to shadowrun
Instead of magic creatures i use sprits and the tattoo are actully charms of his loved ones his ring being his wife, any ideas to improve this or to actully make it work I would love for the help

I believe I'm the best performer on my team. I pick up tasks without having them assigned, delegate work when supervisors are out, consistently get good customer reviews and am requested for projects. I have offered input on bigger projects that have led to process improvement.
But my boss is literally never around to see any of it. When I merely asked to be moved to a better desk, it was denied. I mentioned the last guy to have my job/desk was able to move to a better desk, but was told he was more "self motivated". I didn't say this to him, but that employee was fired for writing "supervisor is a bitch" in the elevator, and was found to urinate in her purse. He was the brother of the managers best friend and it seems he is the gold standard.
I've been here 6 years. I'm the youngest employee on the team by about 20 years. The older guys constantly insult my age, referring to me as a "fucking kid" and assume this is my first job (I'm 35 and have been working 19 years).
What should I do? I'm tired of constantly being in a hostile situation with my managers. I'm here to learn and grow, and use that to benefit our operation. Why isn't that enough?
